Not the Meow pedal?! Cause all our guitars need to sound like cats. At least the Fart tone is usable to a degree . . . works best at the edge of breakup, lol. 😉🤣
I did, it was the DanElectro Black Liquorice octave distortion. Can't remember using it for long enough to really feel the distortion but the octave effect fucking sucked ass. Guy at a music store was like maybe throw a compressor in front to tighten it up but no, that pedal is garbage.
I grew up in St. Louis and Mel Bay's shop was just up the road. Mel was always there and talked to everybody. In a conversation one time Mel was going on about "kids today" spending all this money on great guitars and amps and then they buy some little box to make it all sound like crap:))
I have say the worst pedal is the one i bought used from a guitar store one hundred miles away from my home, it sounded great for about a week and then it died. I tried different things but it was no go. Have a merry Christmas Phil
Damn...not sure if I had the same model, but I had a DOD American Metal and I really liked it. Bought it in the 90's. Scorpions type distortion. Kind of thin sound, but that was the Scorps. Of course, back in those days, I was also running through a phono preamp to sort of "up" the distortion.
My buddy and I loved that pedal back in high school. He was class of 96. I saw him a few years ago, he says he still has it! He played a Fender called " the STRAT" It was purple or blue and came stock with a Floyd rose. I think he still has that as well.
@@saltpeter7429 shitty DOD distortions and THE STRAT are authentic 90s teen guitar striver memories. I had a DOD Supra Distortion (blech) and while I wanted THE STRAT, I ended up with an Ibanez RG550.
@@rocketpigrecords3719 i replied, saying i love pointy headstock ibanezezzzez ( that was fun, lol), but youtube didn't post it. If i could go back, I would stay forever young in the 90's for sure.
Hey Phil your guitar skills have improved immensely over the years I've been enjoying your channel
Agreed. I think it’s mostly his confidence has grown as far as playing on camera. Lot easier to play at home by yourself
This is the sound of the big chu-chunk on "Creep" by Radiohead.
Solid state Marshall distortion along the lines of the GraphiteFace preamp.
Kingfish Ingram uses a Shredmaster in his live rig and his tone is incredible.
The fart pedal is the worst pedal ever made.

The Chili Dog isn't much better. It's kinda fun in its way but not a great sound

Well I definitely don't like that 60's garage distortion, it's just not my thing. But this pedal doesn't sound any worse than other similar units. 🤷♀
Hi Phil, sounds great was hoping for a Strat demo sounds, too. Thanks for the heads up
Brilliant use of reverse psychology by the Marshall marketing department, Phil, agreed!
I don't know about WORST, but it did sound lackluster.
I missed half of this on the live because of some irl malarkey, thanks for clipping this.
Malarkey … ya know , that’s a word you don’t hear much anymore 🤔
@@juanvaldez5422 Really? Might just depend on where you're at. I hear it fairly often.
@@Vykk_Draygo I heard somewhere that the word malarkey was originally coined back East somewhere. Delaware maybe. ;-)
Breaking news! Phil likes the worst pedal ever made! 😂
I nominate the Meowdulator (synth guitar pedal that creates cat meows) as the worst/stupidest pedal ever made for sale.
All those original black Marshall pedals are great pedals.
I’m now dumber for reading some of these comments.
It was good enough for Johnny Greenwood.
Clean tone, is where it is at.
I have this pedal. Johnny Greenwood fan. I don't really get on with it outside of playing radiohead, but I've never been a rat kind of guy
the marshall jackhammer imo is the best od/distortion followed by the govnor both which are impossible to find well here in canada anyway

I was waiting for a ringtone pedal or something like that ;)
get a RATT...boom, yer done
oh, not the band... get a RAT
Worst pedal ever has to be a danelectro. Those things felt like they would break if you tapped them with your foot.
if it does the thing, who cares what it is until you have to replace it
Meanwhile the 🐸 peddle is just hanging out at his pond...
Flurb used to be the worst effect, until Paul Gilbert played one on the JHS show recently.
I like it depending on your style there's a lot of potential with different settings
Pedal rocks man
my favorite "worst pedal ever made" is the DOD grunge pedal. sounds best out of a fifty dollar crate half-stack.
Worst pedal IMO... DOD American Metal FX56. Sadly, this was also my first pedal.

We all know the worst pedal ever is the Digitech Clapton Crossroads pedal XD
It's an analog pedal that sounds digital generic.
You can't hear digital.
The DOD Grunge pedal is the worst pedal ever made.
That's such a silly comment. The worst in my experience has been the dod grunge pedal
I can’t agree 👍 more

@rocketpigrecords3719 yes indeedy. I had plenty a pointy headstock ibanez! Lol. I miss the 90's.

I had that pedal back in the day and really liked it. Go figure? 😅
Hmmmmm…..doesn’t sound special.
Worst UA-cam video ever made.
Hshaha
Was gonna say the Danelectro Black Licorice is definitely the worst pedal ever made... weirdly the black coffee is one of the best lol
