Love Saint Petersburg. Been here since 2013. The city is continuing to improve and get cleaned up. A lot of people complain about the cost but nice places cost more, it’s pretty simple.
Sorry, not sorry, so much gentrification going on sadly here. It's gotten so expensive and overcrowded; 1Br apartments in St Pete are going for $2500-4000/month; want to play less? Be prepared for multiple roommates or living in the hood. At some point there has got to be a breaking point; there's no more good land to build on; teachers will just quit during lunch hours, people drive nuts, wish they would create more parks instead and wish the market would calm down.
Great accurate video! I live in Pinellas County- unincorporated area of St Pete - one thing not mentioned is that we are inundated with law enforcement- Florida State Police for interstate & us 19, Pinellas County Sheriff for unincorporated & beach cities, St Petersburg Police for city - every little city has a cop - I.e. Kenneth City & Pinellas Park- It’s easy navigation around because predominantly our map is a grid of numbered Streets running north and south and numbered Avenues running west to east. What I like best about Pinellas County is the numerous parks and nature preserves that are well maintained. They are closed from dusk to dawn. There are homeless shelters available and “living on streets” & begging not tolerated - many nonprofit organizations provide assistance to needy. South St Petersburg going thru gentrification- I’d be interested on comments on 400 Central Avenue multimillionaire condominiums supposedly going to built - investment only or are real people going to live there?
Pinellas County is where I live it's so full of cops because we will not tolerate any bad behavior and it's not just Pinellas County that has a lot of cops so does St Petersburg and Tampa Bay and we like it that way and we don't tolerate your bad attitudes or your bad behavior and I honestly hope that our governor does not become president we want to do Donald Trump first for 4 years and then we want to do Governor Ron DeSantis
St. Pete is experiencing alot of tear down and rebuild like many highly populated areas of the country... The fishing is great in the bay as well! Nice thorough review!
The Disston Heights neighborhood has the highest elevations in St.Pete, from 45’ to 60’ above sea level. The dominant tree species are oak and sable palm and to a lesser extent slash pine, and red maple, But there are a variety of other tree species as well, some native and some exotic… mango, avocado, lychee, southern magnolia, Bismarck palm, Washingtonia palm, bamboos, Date palms, Everglades palm, camphor trees, sycamores, kapok, ceiba, African sausage tree, New Zealand bottle trees, bottlebrush trees, golden rain trees, sea grape trees, trumpet trees, bald cypress, strangler figs, rubber trees, and other banyan trees, crepe myrtles, etc etc etc.
I moved here from Delaware over 30 years ago and if I have anything to do with it they will carry me out with my boots on. My home is in the Largo area. I love it that I 275 or the beaches are only a 15 minute drive
Thanks for sharing these videos. Just an idea but I think there would be great value in interviewing clients or simply folks living in neighborhoods you do videos in. Viewers would get to hear the pros and cons straight from the horses mouth.

Snell Isle, not Snell Island. Kenwood isn’t really family friendly yet, though it isn’t the hood anymore. FEMA is a pain and you will deal with them a lot if you are in a flood zone like we are.
@@LivinginTampa It is Isle. Also, Those houses that I think you're calling turn of century are not at all term of century. They are from the 1920s - ish. Do more homework, look up Flagler.
When it comes to the acquisition of federal dollars and even state money for infrastructure improvement projects, the TB “Metroplex,” or “TampaSphere,” as I call it, is shortchanged by the Census Bureau as they divide the market up into three metro areas when, in fact, it is one. As one travels from city to city the towns meld into one big metro…the twelfth (yes, 12th) largest media market in the US. It is more populous than Miami (16th largest), Denver, and many other metros deemed “large” by the general public. This fact is not we’ll known and is hidden by the USCB’s dumb market slicing mindset when it comes to the Tampa Bay area. The TB metro is one of the fastest growing areas in the country and has Tom Brady. What’s not to like?
Thank you. I have been thinking about St Petersburg but concerned about the heat and the hurricanes. Is it worth it to buy in a flood zone... I mean, over the course of 10 years what is it going to be like? Can you shed some light on that?
I grew up in St Pete and now live in Seminole, also in Pinellas County. The heat is so horrendous in the summer that we swim in the early morning and stay inside the rest of the day. Some years the storms are a real threat and we end up ‘visiting’ friends further north. I would not live here if my kids and grandkids weren’t here. If you have specific questions, I will gladly answer for you.
my neighbor sold 2 years ago after flooding 5 times in 20 years. It doesnt take a hurricane to flood. Sometimes it floods when one hits up in the panhandle. High winds and high tides combine to force water into the bay. It comes up quick, even buckling garage doors. A cat 1 in 2020 flooded most homes and cars in my neighboorhood. It's inconvenient takes about 6 months to get repairs since all the workers are building homes now.
Sin pretender quitarle el entusiasmo, el tema de los huracanes y las inundaciones no son a de minimizar, solo el que ha vivido en zonas de huracanes e inundaciones lo valora.
When I moved down from NY I had two job offers I was considering. One in Clearwater and one in St. Petersburg. I decided on going with the job in Clearwater and living there but I wouldn’t rule out one day moving to St. Petersburg.
I really wish you out of town ppl especially New Yorkers and everyone up north , stop coming down here. You’re ruining our city and getting us pushed out.
The flood zone material is too light and needs no Oklahoma info. The Evacuation Zone maps are readily available for Pinellas County, are simple and easy to explain, based as they are on elevations. Stop saying PIE-nellas--it's PIN-ellas County.

St Pete is definitely exploding! So many cool new and exciting things going on!
Unless you live near downtown its not really nice. The highway infrastructure sucks. Rent for a run-down raggedy apartment is near $2,000.

To regulate the tourists. They are good police. Never been harassed for petty infractions.
