The cartoon tip is just what I was looking for for my friend, thank you so much! If you've watched Doraemon in canto you're gonna find lots of cantonese people in their 30s with whom you can talk about it, and they would reminisce this childhood memory with you! Gonna search for peppa pig and doraemon. Thanks again!
Really great content Grace I love how you approach language learning! I'm from HK but grew up in an International School all my life so English is native tongue. I really feel like I should start picking up my Cantonese now that I spend a lot of time with parents. Keep up the good work!
wow loved this vid + ur vids in general! super helpful as an abc and im blown away by ur pronunciation considering u dont get a lot of exposure/immersion as someone not chinese/living in china/hk!!! def better/more complex than me and other abcs i know!!
I just think that you are so awesome. My boyfriend stay in Hong Kong almost 8 years. The Cantonese still very poor🤦.I don’t know how to teach him. I can’t push him to learn. If he live in Hong Kong, he must be know that. I felt so annoyance. You live in uk which haven’t many opportunities to find Hong Konger speaking. You speak Cantonese so well.
I was wondering if you still had any of the links of cartoons in cantonese? I can't find any peppa pig ones with english subtitles :< I love your videos and you're inspiring me to learn more!
Not Cantonese related, but how do you maintain your hair abroad? I'm moving to south china in 2022 and I'm worried about my hair frizzing everyday. Such high humidity.
Hey Yuki, sorry to let you know that I'm not living in Asia at the moment. I live in the UK! Maybe just try find any black vloggers on UA-cam, or try find some blog posts, forums, etc.
9 to be more specific. The other three tones are simply stretched and sounds longer than normal. It is hard to explain. When something is in your blood... well... you understand.
Just asking, I assume you are already aware of a lot of words in Cantonese that are meaningless themselves except to accentuate your tone like 'la' 啦, 'gaa' 架, 'wo' 喎, 'ar' 呀, 'ma' 嗎 , 'gwaa' 啩, 'ge' 嘅 - by adding them to the end of the sentences.
Yes, I feel those words really characterise Cantonese! I'm struggling with adding them to my sentences because I'm afraid of using them incorrectly haha
@@Guresu I think you're doing the right thing by not using them when you're not confident with it, not that you shouldn't make mistakes, but because it's really easy to get into the habit of using them wrong with repeated errors. But it's okay, since you will keep hearing them and eventually it'll just come out naturally without you even thinking about it. Gaa Yau!!!
