Capcom decided to make some easy money, so they recycled parts of Mega Man X5, threw in overly difficult trial-and-error gameplay, made almost everything an obstacle course, and called it Mega Man X6.
Rescuing all Reploids on Xtreme mode is inadvisable for all but the most hardcore, yet this TAS makes it look easy. Not only that, it collects everything that can be collected before beating the game.
In this run, Rolanmen1 uses additional items and tricks that are not present in the any% or all stages runs, such as X's Blade Armor. Though X still has less screentime than Zero, he is used to his fullest potential in the Gate stages. - Ігри

X6 actually has my favorite piece of dialogue from any video game ever: when Zero is climbing through the ice blocks in Wolfang's stage and he says: "HAHUUNHUUNHU-HU-HUUNHAHUUN-HU-HUUNHAHAHUUN" 21:25

Even though I couldn't beat him the first time, it really gave me the shivers.

Beautiful quality, I don't think the game is as bad as other people think because I actually enjoyed playing (until I get Shock Buffer lol)
kinda late but i think the issues is the level desing for this game, full of spikes, random enemies at their position, stuff like that

I don't see how X6 recycles anymore concepts than X5 did to warrant special attention. Still, "recycling" is not a bad thing if done right. Most of the concepts previously seen in X5 are made better in X6. But then, there's the games' own problems. It's still a fun ride if you know your way around the bullshit.
I would have actually seen X6 as a better game than X5(to a degree)...if it wasn't for the bad translation, typos and a few sfxs (which i believe it's better to use their X4-5 variants)

How fast would it take to beat the game?
It is pretty boring IMO. Pretty straightforward, but you would need Zero anyways since X with Ultimate Armor won't pass though Gate 1. X would need either Blade Armor or Jumper. I would rather an X only TAS.

How can you pass the final drill machine in the intro stage without taking damage? I've tried it like you, but that drill machine is too fast in xtreme mode :/
Can't be sure why since I can't see your input, but it is probably because you are not fast enough or either you are not destroying the last box fast enough.
Ive never played this game are the bosses normal this ridiculously easy? Or is it because of a turbo controller or something? Do bosses not have invincibility frames like they did in previous games?
He is playing in a TAS, meaning he can get inputs frame by frame. The invincibility frames you talked about, they're only applied on the 3rd hit of Zero's combo. He is landing the first hit, dash-canceling and landing the first hit again. It is possible on a normal playthrough too, just not so fast.

Is killing highmax in intro good for any category? It's possible, right? I swear it was...
High max is totally invincible in the intro stage. You can beat him in one of the secondary area of any stage like how its done in the Any% TAS.
Rolanmen1 Oh sorry. Beating highmax gets the last levels, but that's for the 2nd encounter, not at the intro.
So that conveyor belt that starts at 31:55... Why did zero need to take all that damage and use the e-tank?

Since this TAS was made in PCSX, I had to use kkapture and encoded it using x264 with a filter called nnedi3. It is a bit complicated and very heavy on CPU but the quality as you can see is impressive.
How long that even take to create a TAS?
That is very hard to estimate since it depends on game, what are you trying to achieve in that game and the free time you have to TAS.

Slash, back, forward, dash, slash, rinse and repeat. If you're doing it in a TAS you can do it frame perfect and shred everything. Real players can also do it but obviously not as fast as a TAS does it.

I'm having difficulty pulling this off... from what I've heard, your supposed to jump dash while holding the desired direction then letting go of the direction just before landing, but I don't think I'm doing it right. 😭
That is actually how you do it, the issue is that it is super hard to do consistently, for context this is a one frame trick.

I rescued most of the reploids on xtreme as zero (some as X but only the ones that didnt give lifeup or weaponup powerups).. so yeah.
I consider myself hardcore.
I got them all, but it was EXTREMELY frustrating and required multiple resets. In my opinion, this is one aspect they should have done away with, given (iirc) once one dies, you can't just replay the stage and try again.

No, it's possible on console. If you stand close enough to a boss using Guard Shell, every frame of Zero's sword hitting will do 1 hit of damage. I think the boss has to be between Zero and the Guard Shell shield

What the fuck was that even? That's nuts.
Tweekitus its the ensuizan glitch where you cancel the spin's animation as you get off a platform (very easy to do on ice platforms). It makes you invincible but you still die from pits, crushes and if you do the move again it will cancel the invincibility.

Slash dash cancelling is what it's called. After you perform first slash, dash immediately to cancel it, then slash again etc. You have to face the opposite direction in this game most of the time due to how zero swings in this game.

Ah, I don't cross that invisible wall that loads the laser in the game, if you pass this wall (wich is near the first mirror reflector) the lasers at the next room will load and they fire as soon as they are loaded. This is why I don't go to the right right away.

They're time wasters in speedruns.
I feel like it'd be a *ton* faster to start off with Weapon Center or Laser Institute...The Nightmare Portals and levels there are way faster.

Zero's downward slash normally shakes the camera back and forth upon landing on the ground. On auto-scrolling segments like MSP's secret route, using this special move juts the camera forward. It's the only way to speed up progression in that segment.
The attack also has recovery frames after landing, but taking damage overrides that, allowing you to spam the fuck out of it, and speed things up even further.
Zero, the only videogame character in history badass enough to bend auto-scrollers to his will. What a beast.
