Crown Jewel of the Colorado Plateau: Dark Canyon Packraft
Вставка

- Many desert canyons feature bedrock channels, and many desert drainages feature large scale snowpack in wet years. The overlap is small, and the degree to which Dark Canyon has flushed all of its sediment to leave behind miles of bedrock slots, slides and ledges is truly unique.
A hardshell crew paddled the lower canyon in the exceptional 2019 spring, and the 2023 spring is even better. Here, we explore over 2 days the lower 8 miles of Dark Canyon with Alpacka Valkyries. Flow variation from peak to trough was extreme but we were able to paddle low flows the first day and medium flows the second day into the Colorado and out to Hite. - Спорт
An amusement park ride for experts. Thanks for making the world look more glorious! You paddle with a blessed crew.
Pure glory. Thanks for making my bucket list a bit longer
Glad to see it being flushed out.
This is it dude, this can never be outdone. It's all downhill from here. Enjoy the view from the top.
I never want your videos to end!
Holy elbow pads batman! Pure water and rock! Very kool.
Y'all are breaking the fun meter!
I'm so glad this popped up on my feed. Very fun. Thanks for sharing.
Dude! This is Awesome. -Gabriel and River dog.
Thank you for sharing!! camped at the mouth of Dark Canyon and spent a day walking up it on my first river trip years ago (and many times after until the mouth got grrrosssssss), the singular moment I fell in love with canyon country.
as always, a great edit with an even greater vibe. thanks for sharing
really beautiful stuff, thank you
Awesome, that canyon looks wild. I want to check it out. Thanks so much for making this video.
Dark Canyon is a holy among the holy, a remote among the most remote, a cacophony of water, rock, and her light.

that one sieve is wild 😂 Cool to see some girls running those. I will show my wife 🎉
Archie Bunker lives!
Amazing. Great song too!
Good job! You did it right and safely. Love those boats!
Love it!
Congrats that’s definitely a crown jewel canyon!
Great adventure.
Epic foam piles and sieves. Keep it up dog
Nice guys! Crushing it!
How awesome! I've only been there when it was pretty much bone dry with occasional pools and trickles.
😳WTF 01:19 The whole river just disapears. Imagine someone didn’t scouted and boofs right into the siphone. But really nice canyon anyway. BR Tom.
Завораживающе!!! 😊
Fun video! Thanks.
That tongue at 3.36 🙌🙌
So epic!
Epicful.
Incredible
Nice, two descents in four years? Awesome to see people getting after it
Amazing!
really cool!
The amount of foam is crazy, never seen that in a backcountry creek and not a polluted city waterway. What causes it?
Rad descent!
👏🍻
wow! unbelievably beautiful! what flow range were you on and what is the best gauge to check? Thank you for any beta!!!
Hey! Such a rad video! Do you mind sharing the coordinates for the put in and takeout? How is the hike in and out?
So, custom lab Valkyrie comes in pink...when?
Sometimes we use different color schemes to distinguish prototype boats. Unfortunately only one valkyrie color scheme for now!
Any idea why so much foam?
Not really, but one interesting clue is that way more foam seems to form in desert drainages on snowmelt than does on monsoon rains
Accumulated oils from rotting vegetation aerated into tiny bubbles. Really.
@@waterdragon4950 excellent!
@@waterdragon4950 Also snow algae and snow fungi?
Gross! All those suds from detergents. Wouldn't be surprised is you also encountered some turds floating by.
