in my opinion hardflip body varials (muska flip) looks cooler than a "real" frontside flip
+Haley Isaak I don't call it a Muska flip. I call them both frontside flips, but I agree that the hardflip way looks so muck cooler. I could do frontside flips both ways, but I preferred the hardflip way.
Same, always thought the hardflip way looked dope. One of the coolest looking tricks on a skateboard IMO

A muska flip is a way to do a frontside flip
The most accepted way to do a fs flip is if the board spins really fast. The best looking ones are those fully flipped at 90 degree angle then turned 90 more from then on. Just look at Andrew Reynolds, Greg Lutzka and some guys from Majer, their fs flips don't look like hardflip 180 and they look way better.
Man, I never thought I would be good enough to get to these intermediate tricks. I mean, my Hardflips kind of suck, but hopefully once I practice them and Frontside flips more they'll get better. So far I just have Back Bigspin (Learned it without pop first, but still needs some work.) and Varial Flips, which I actually learned trying 360 Flips. Pretty excited to learn Inward Heels.

gabe is right, the pivot doesnt help at all because youre still fundamentally only doing a regular kickflip and the 180 afterwards, the trick is being able to do both simultaneously so pivoting after kickflipping wont give you the same movement

I can do 6 out of 10 kickflips and 9 out 10 F/S 180s would that make it easier to attempt the frontside flip or not? And is the pivot one harder than the hardflip looking one?

You dont need that pivot step to learn fs flips. Just learn to catch your board at 90 degress and your legs will rotate the rest of the spin as long as you turn your shoulders enough.
the hardflip body varial is called a muska flip, my brother.
i learnt the way your trick told me to but now all my fs flips are like 100 degree angles then reverts how do i get the full 180 without a revert?

There is really no problem with longboarders that try maybe bomb hills maybe like do a trick if you can but if its only riding then at least try to learn
I actually do skate tricks on a longboard, and also do some slides. Choose the one you are more comfortable with

If you stop with putting the tail of board down to stop it makes it go down was. Instead try when you want to stop put the heel Of your foot hanging Off the tail a little vertical then push down and you will stop saves your board but ruins your shoes

If you skate on tarmac, you'll get a razor tail real quick. Also depends on the tricks you do, e.g: learning no comply fs 180s will wreck your tail
It's definitely good to not stop with the tail, but you will still get razor tail from doing any tricks that pop. One thing I do is popping with the nose half the time. Although it feels a bit different, it doesn't affect any of my tricks. The other thing is that I usually don't skate in front of my house because I've found neighborhoods and schools with smoother surfaces (you can go faster and it feels better too).

i learned frontside flips in 30 mins without these steps. if you can kickflip and 180 well, youre good to go.

No i think frontside flips are way easier hard flips are weird and scary because it always looks like your gonna get credit carded so if you learn frontside flips hard flips will be easier but still hard
I learned hardflips first but that took me two months to land my first one so...
frontside flips are miles easier than hardflips, i can do both, but literally i just do a front 180 with my foot angled and the board pretty much rolls off my foot and flips, and i land, hardlflips have a really awkward feeling technique that can only be more comfortable if you learn inward heels or frontside flips

I used to have these on lock regular and fakie, now I can't seem to do em to save my life, I think I lost them the once I switched from 8.0 to 8.25, God I want this trick back

i cant understand how anybody cant hate on this, if you skateboard and you love it, there is no such sensation like when one of your mates locks his trick, we all love when we land the trick we were working on, or the gap or the stairs whatever, how could somebody possibly hate on these support videos i will never understand. The only guess is that nowdays its full of idiots with good legs but bad spirit.

to me a good frontside flip should be somewhere between what aaron does and a hardflip body varial (muska flip). like how reynolds does them, right in the middle. technically a muska flip is its own trick which i also like, i just dont think of it as a frontside flip. not hating aaron can do whatever he wants but his frontside flip style isnt my taste lol

You can start right now. Just take it easy with tricks. Ride your board around and cruise for a few days before going back to doing tricks.
