The RF and the BBC have always had a special relationship. And for the BBC to put out this documentary on the royals with a republican Amol Rajan conducting the interviews is shocking.

It is clear that this documentary maker worked closely with Harry and Meghan to produce this. This is a bias documentary with positivity hailed towards Harry and Meghan while disparaging the royal family and monarchy. Bad journalism from BBC in my view. It is very clear that Meghan and Harry have been trying to put out their propaganda repeatedly through leaks via their so called friends while they claim that they are smeared against by the palace but in fact they are the biggest leak of information against the royal family during their time as senior royal as well as after they left to California. If Sussexes are leaking against the royal family then I think it is only fair that the royal family is allowed to leak information in response to the Sussexes. The thing to remember with Meghan’s bullying allegations is the fact that Meghan and Harry have not sued any of the staffs members who accused them or the newspaper for printing those stories. The fact that they have not sued means that those stories are correct. Meghan obviously was not nice to the palace staffs and there has been plenty of disgruntled staffs who let it slipped to the journalist about Meghan's misbehaviour during her time as senior royal. Whether those leaks were sanctioned by the Cambridges is another story. However, if those things are happening behind the scene while Meghan is putting on a face of an angel to the public, I as public have the right to know what she was up to behind the scene. I don't think that William is wrong if he allowed those leaks to happen because they are the truth. That has been proven in the court of law that all the stories leaked about Meghan are mostly true and that she is a liar. I also think that equally Sussexes should be allowed to leaks their side of the story which they have done numerous times via her friends, Omid Scobie, People magazine, OW interview etc. However, the main problem I have with the Sussexes is the fact that what they leaked about the royal family are so far turns out to be lies including the OW interview. This documentary is as bias as it comes, I mean the producer allowed her lawyer to talk on camera to defend Meghan but the royal family and the royal household were not allowed to view the documentary prior to airing so that they can put their side of the story in the documentary as well. It is one sided and biased. It is against the journalistic integrity.

It's also free speech so censoring them is wrong however much you may dislike what they have done. The BBC operates under a royal charter (a ROYAL charter!) and it is the Queen who appoints the members of the BBC Trust (a 12 member panel governed by a Chairman) who are SUPPOSED to oversee day to day operations. They obviously don't do their job properly, because they certainly didn't oversee the "truthfulness and integrity" of this documentary at all (as presented by smug anti-monarchist Amol Rajan). Can one imagine any other employees, in any other company, refusing to show the person who appointed them what they are working on, only to then spring something devastatingly disrespectful, without letting him or her reply to the insulting accusations in it, before it is flung out into the public arena! Richard Kay's phrase, "making mischief", is spot on! The appearance of Meghan's mouthpiece (Scobie) and lawyer (Afia) in the documentary show that Rajan is fully "in lockstep" with the Sussexes, turning the BBC into a personal platform for M and H, giving only their point of view and no one else's. So, it seems it is not enough that M and H's PR company (S Sachs) has bought publicity and exposure for them in every magazine and mainstream tv channel in America, but they have now also commandeered the BBC in the UK ! for their own publicity and promotional purposes! When will BBC staff understand that it is we, the UK licence payers, who pay their wages, and we (the silent majority) don't like seeing our Head of State treated with such disrespect.
All of this started I believe because Meakle did not want Harry in particular to meet her father. Because she had told Harry no doubt, that she too had genetic pain from her father and neglected to tell him that she was spoiled by her father. Narcissists as she is always start off playing the victim. And Harry has always been insanely jealous of William and Meakle was jealous of her sister. Meakle told teachers at her school that her mum was Italian and to others that she was the helper. This shows that she was not comfortable being coloured. I would argue that it is Meakle who is the real racist. Look at,the whitened skin the straightened hair and changed nose. This does not show a woman that loves being black. She is an insult to black people and to feminism and to America. Interfereing in politics using her title Duchess of Sussex. Lying to courts and just one lie after another. The Royal Family need to take the BB C on and call them out. It was trial,by media.
Exactly. I have mixed European background. Apparently some of my ancestry traces back to the Mongols in Asia. Does that mean I am biracial? This is becoming ridiculous. Now anyone with a tan or olive complexion is biracial. If Meghan was so proud of her african ancestry why did she try to eliminate all her ethnic features (nose job and hair straightening) and why did she identify as Caucasian when applying for jobs. She only plays the “race” or victim card when it’s expedient. Hypocrite.
@@lizhorton5333 everyone is half everything now because we want to avoid talking about racism, you people are very funny. They are trying desperately hard to attract the younger viewers but of course that’s never going to work because they much prefer the other channels whereas the older generation were their loyal supporters. Sadly they are now losing them in great numbers so I think they are on tricky ground now.
It is not only the RF who has the right to read or watch a documentry or something written about them on paper. It is usually sent, for example an open letter to some institution or ministry, in order to make sure it is not intentionally defaming or making claims which are not true. Even in business circles is this done. I do that myself too.
As I understand it, usually the Palace *does* have a preview specifically for that purpose. This was an exception, but if the editor (or whoever was in charge) has been quoted as having previously called the Monarchy 'absurd', it should not really be surprising that this programme appears to have been made with the express purpose of stirring up trouble. Why get on the wrong side of the BRF, though?

It's a pity the BBC, or someone else, hasn't done a doco on how much negative vs positive vs neutral Press several members of the Royal Family had over the years. I'd like to know the stats. I expect Camilla and Fergie to have been treated most unfairly, and MM before the "surviving, not thriving" speech in Africa probably was treated the most fairly. My opinion only because I don't know how to find news coverage stats.
I agree with PW decided to give the Christmas special to ITV. The BBC did allow Meghan’s lawyer to appear in the documentary to lie on behalf of MM,,, that is messed up. It’s obvious that the BBC is not pro the RF. Good move on the Palace/RF not to do anything with them,,, hopefully they will continue with their decision.
So According to Omid Scabies his part was filmed in November 20 a year before this was aired so does this excuse him. I’m not sure what we should take out of that did the two over the pond know this was being put together if their mouth piece knew then they knew. And how involved were they how many E mails were sent with bullet pointed reminders. Or did they forget this program was being put together either way if Scabies gave his interview last November then they could not have not known it was happening and what the content was. So my question is how involved are they and if it’s found they played any part what if any will be the consequences for them.
Omid is not bi-racial. He is ethnically 1/2 Persian and 1/2 Scottish, but racially, he is 100% Caucasian/White. Don't get me started on his surgery... K-Pop-wannabe.
I have to laugh at the BBC they can't win with this, what journalist & media and H&M need to figure out is if the Monarchy ended tomorrow tbh it's likely a win for the Principals, they've probably got themselves in a very stable financial position and its privacy and picking and choosing what they want to do with their lives. The only disadvantaged in it will be all the people employed talking or reporting or getting ratings on them. It's a win win for them either way: Kings or Privacy. H&M really need to figure that out, because H is the one going to suffer big time, cut off, no inheritance, its laughable how he keeps going after them, when all he is doing is harming himself. Claim to fame: publicly hating on my family for money, he's done for, not them.

The presenter of the documentary is an avowed republican. Slanted?
Persian and Scottish is Caucasian. A mixed ethnicity, but not race.
Yes!! What the Hell? Both parents Caucasian and yet he states he’s bi-racial? He is as dumb as he looks.
Hypocrite.
@@Altered4n892t he must be a victim
@@lizhorton5333 everyone is half everything now because we want to avoid talking about racism, you people are very funny. If you look at Meghan's nose and her sister are the same, well she never hide she was half black since she is very close to her VERY BLACK mother, I didn't know straight belongs to white people, my nose is English nose and I'm black thank god for that, what you are saying makes no sense. are you still in High school?
This was basically a one sided story! This is so irresponsible for BBC to put out something like this
Since MM came in the picture... It's been nothing but one sided stories... You know... Recollections may vary

The BBC aren't so popular with the public either especially with older people. They need to remember who is paying for the organisation.
All that was done, the royals wanted more and they were told NO!
@@blacksling9 they were told some parts of it but denied the right to see the entire programme,H and M meanwhile did get to review it and that is why she sent a lawyer along ,this was so wrong on so many levels
@@lilyliz3071 do you have any proof H&M reviewed this, any what so ever. I am curious if this is t just another made up H&M involvement. What you are posting about the lawyer make zero sense since was shot over two years ago and the editing took that lawn. How could H&M has seen it then sent their lawyer after the fact? Stop making shit up!
@@blacksling9 I’ve no proof I can show you,I am not MI5 but it was stated ,not by the RF but the makers of the show that they had been shown the footage beforehand in the US ,that came out the day after it was televised
It's MeAgain's "Liar" not Lawyer! 😂
Lovely to see Richard Kay :)
He’s one of my favorites. He was featured in some early Diana documentaries. Always very respectful and knowledgeable. I find him credible and I love his presentation and delivery.
Sounds like one sided ... #bias #gaslighting #fake #lies
Royal family should take legal action against them over every lie that was told in this disgusting documentary.
AUDREY.
I AGREE WITH YOU.
💯%.
Appalling documentary...hints of the Diana interview! BBC should be ashamed of themselves!
Yessss the two Richards!
That shirt it's divine!
So is Richard Easton, a true English gentleman.
I am unable to see the documentary but it sounds like a load of codswallop that no one should take seriously
You hit the nail on the head there
So According to Omid Scabies his part was filmed in November 20 a year before this was aired so does this excuse him.
They did know the content, that’s why she sent a lawyer to mouth off for her
Omid Scobie mixed race? I believe Persians are considered to be Caucasian.
The simple fact that these observations are repeated in so many comments gives a bad odour to the entire program.
They are.
Yeah.. how did Meghan's lawyer know to show up???
Omid is not bi-racial. He is ethnically 1/2 Persian and 1/2 Scottish, but racially, he is 100% Caucasian/White. Don't get me started on his surgery... K-Pop-wannabe.
The wooden Thunderbird puppet.😂
Has Omid had plastic surgery? Because it sure looks like he has. He looks like a Ken doll.
Exactly!
Omid aka Scooby Doobie Do
Or, "Meegain's-Marionette", He looks like Scott or Virgil from the "Thunderbirds". Plus, he's plastic and nothing more than her puppet.
@Megan DunstanI agree. "Appearance" but NOT personality. They had character, while he is just a puppet. Also, he looks more 'plastic' than they did. 😄
Hahaha MeGain`s puppet on a string 😄
Maybe the Platinum celebrations will be handed to alternative TV company. The Royal Gala could also be removed from BBC....
BBC 👎
Great interview, terrific analysis by guests, great blouse!
The presenter was even seated in an awkward or slouchy position like as if the matters being discussed isn’t so serious. 🙄
Remarkably dull program I thought. Nothing new in it. Even Amol Thingy looked bored. Scobie looked like he'd melt if you left him near a heat source....
😂🤣😅 That was a good one. Described Scobie to a T. I always thought he looked strange but couldn't find the words.
Shame on BBC!
Two reputable journalists talking sense!
"A football hater talking about football players"
If the bbc doesn’t want to work with the royal family why should the royal family deal with the bbc
I find the title of that programme very misleading. The Princes & the Press.
Maybe it should have been titled, Meghan’s manipulation of the Princes & the Press!
Harry's wife's grandiose expectations of how people should to treat her is shockingly rude in my opinion.
And there's no stopping her it seems🤮

I am really in awe of the Mail and Itv and how they are trying to be fair, bringing out facts that some people may miss, such as MMs lawyer being allowed airtime and the 3 palaces not... except for a statement after the fact... and the known bias of the reporter against the RF... and the background of past conflict and the current difficulties between the BBC and the RF... btw... the bbcs statement was just hot air.. they bit the hand that feeds them with no fair and unbiased point of view presented in a way to show the RF and the monarchy as what it trully is, an institution of family members who may disagree and may have seperate agendas in many areas, yet every single member of the working Senior Royals are united in the good works for the country and commonwealth... not like PH and MM who seem to be quickly accelerating their agenda and closing the gap between petty revenge and being traitors to the UK monarchy, and using gutter press reporting to do it, even after stating clearly and often how much they hate media and the press... and how much they want privacy and not to be part of the working monarchy except under their own terms... excuse me... the Employer always sets the duties and the employees do the work, not the other way around!
Will smegs lawyer be in part 2 on repeat saying she is not a bully
Smegs lawyer looks ridiculous because this was filmed before Jason Knauf revealed the emails that showed Meghan lied in the MoS court case in the UK. The lawyer looks totally unprofessional making claims about their client in an ongoing case. The whole show was biased in favor of the lying hypocrites M&H and against the press and the Royal family. BBC is propaganda, not news. Time to say 👋 to BBC. Vote with your wallet.
Sounds more like a grievance fest than an analytical discussion.
Hold on Rebecca - why did Amol Bashir let the Harkles see this documentary before release and send their lawyer attack dog to speak for them but the Royal Family weren’t allowed the same privilege??? That’s not fair, make that make sense.
I grew up in 🇨🇦 and now live in 🇺🇸. I regularly watch the Mail Plus. Love the two Richards (Kay and Eden). Thoughtful, respectful and knowledgeable. If either Richard is on a program, I will check it out. Agree that calling Omid Scobie “a Journalist” is laughable. He’s a paid mouthpiece for H&M. After that reveal by Jason Knauf about the ‘Funding Freedom’ book, his credibility is zero.
The Place annoyed? Oh Twaddle. Bless their little hearts. All this expose just dumped into our laps, quite bothersome.
keep it up Prince William its time Princess Pinocchio had some karma slapped right back at her,I watched that first episode it really was extremely biased I will not watch the other episode We are sick and tired of Meghans agenda she is seen only as a liar and a bully,I hope the british court make her either pay up or go to trial
How rude & insensitive of the BBC after everything the RF have been through losing Prince Phillip.
I have lost total respect for BBC whose callousness as UK citizens. The RF has always supported the BBC. Good Journalistic practice by BBC no longer applies. Good for William he will be a great king.
Excellent
Why on earth did they have Boris Johnson's sister there?
I myself thinks it has meggi markle all over it a verbal finding freedom
True journalism is unbiased .This wasnt
BBC backlash for the Diana embarrasment inteview with this one side jornalism, they know the family is not going to speak. The public already know how vendictive and laying ginger and rachel are in their money gaining marketing
I don't consider the BBC the most important broadcaster now. K
Jo, you look lovely in that color. Loved the 2 Richards together.
I actually quite like BBC acting in a way to inspire people to question its conduct, and appreciate that no media is unbiased, and we have to think twice before we adopt the views and so-called evidence from media
Not when im paying for it.
Agree, they have the right to freedom of speech and once that starts being censored tyranny soon follows.
@@roypatterson7904 That licence fee also funds things like the BBC World Service, a service unparalleled in the world and something which brings factual information and hope to billions in countries where both of these are in short supply. They also provide much needed information in countries where the local news services may well bring accurate and unbiased stories on local events but they also totally ignore anything happening in the world beyond their borders. I know, I grew up listening to the BBC world service (0700-0709 every morning on the radio) and this was often the ONLY form of gaining information on ANYTHING - except sports - which happened overseas. I still listen to the world service now, and it is still a great - possibly the greatest - service that the BBC and UK have given the world. Something that NO OTHER COUNTRY has managed to copy. And yes, even though I no longer live in the UK and haven't for years I still pay my ''licence fee'' every year because I know what the world service means to large parts of the globe and I am happy and willing to still pay - even though I receive no television - for this service to continue.

He chose to live in this country, so maybe he should accept this country's people including the monarchy
Like the Sussex, the BBC thought they could always get away with the things they said and do. I really hope that the RF will just drop them totally instead make use of their own digital platform to broadcast. No one is indispensable even the BBC the flagship of Britain. If the BBC is trying to promote true journalism, I believe they have just failed badly doing that.
Who cares about BBC's report on the Royals especially after what happened with Martin Bashir's interview.
Time to defund the BBC.
Fantastic.
Part 2 is going to be especially despicable.
Same mischief which happened in Oprah interview is happening in BBC documentary
Is there a way to watch this from the USa?
Lies and more lies from the Sussex team also the BBC team.
Omid Scobbie has a lot to answer for, talk about his mouth leaks like a Sieve.
Mm has brought so much bad luck!
The POINT which you somehow left out was that the Sussex attorney was able to speak in the biased docudrama and the Queens was NOT.
Two thumbs up for the two Richards. Rebecca English, sorry to say, sounded like she was reporting from the toilet at a gas station. She does frequent reports on this channel so someone should help her set up a little studio nook in her home with decent acoustics.
Thats right, someone cannot cover something someone hates.

lets concentrate on prince Andrew for a change !! he is the Queens biggest worry!!!!!!!
Im not sure I'd trust ITV either if I was the RF the channel of Tom Bradby the channel that couldn't wait to air the Ophrah interview and the channel that sacked Piers Morgan for not apologising to Sparkles.
