Back in the late 2000s early ‘10s, before the “BBCOR” era of metal bats a lot of companies were making some dangerous bats. Easton, Nike, and Demarini were constantly pushing the envelope back then. Exit velocity was through the roof for kids and some bats were so ridiculously loaded there were on the banned list within a year. I had an old 2 piece composite bat made by Nike that sent anything it touched into orbit. One game we played a team using an illegal bat. Rather than call them out, we pulled the Nike out of the bag and went to work. 7 hits in a row topped off by a grand slam. I put the bat back in my bag right after that 😂
Yeah dude me 2, I had a really old bat even from before the besr. standard. And it was basically just a steel rod, a few weeks ago i used it in a game because all our BBCOR bats were gone. First pitch was a grand slam in the trees, but the umpire overturned it because the bat was obviously illegal. It was called the Louisville Slugger Air Attack
@@semoudemoleman1798 that is one of the most legendary bats of all time. The air attack 2 actually put a kid in the hospital on the comeback and spurred a lawsuit that led to the besr regulation being put into high school. I have one that I'm reengineering

To anybody that is wondering why the bat is illegalI believe that it has too great of a drop. The drop is how many ounces the bat weighs less than the lengthFor exampleIf your bat is 30 inches long and the bat weighs 21 ounces, then the bat is a drop nine bat30-21 = 9 Many leagues have a maximum drop of 12So if this batter was using a 33 inch bat that weighed less than 21 ounces, it would most likely be illegal. It looked to be a 2 1/4 inch barrel and it was clearly not a problem with aluminum versus wood. They would not have been able to identify corking on the field.
Jeremy Zuther no.. It's the barrel size not the weight. You can have any length or weight you want in any league. You are limited to a specific barrel size. Bet it was a super fat bat.
The rules when I was playing were that you could only use bats with a weight differential of -5. I swung a 32 inch bat so it couldn't weigh less than 27 oz. It was later changed my senior year to -3 so I had to change to a 32 inch/29 oz bat. Any bats outside of the -3 differential were illegal. Bats could also be no thicker than 2 3/4 inches. As far as wood bats go, most of the leagues I played in you could use a wood bat if you wanted to but there were no rules that said wood bats were illegal. College teams do not use wood bats. They use metal bats
I don't care about illegal bats but kudos to whoever shot the video! Great camera work keeping the action in the middle of the frame, not a lot of zooming or panning. Very smooth, steady video. Hollywood could learn from whoever shot this video!

Two things: 1) The bat is illegal because it doesn't have the appropriate labels. This doesn't necessarily mean the bat is loaded; giving the batter an advantage. In fact, these labels change over the years and you could have a bat that was legal years prior, but not legal any more. 2) The reason that big boy ripped that ball was because the pitcher is keeping ALL his pitches way high.
Baseball Ballbase That is just a dumb comment. Don't know if THIS bat is illegal or not...but yes...an illegal bat COULD be the difference between hitting home runs or not. Or even give you extra bat speed to catch up to a 98 MPH fastball. The biggest reason to show why your comment is as worthless as your life is..if they didn't help...why would people use illegal bats or take steroids? "Gee...I know this doesn't help me at all...but I like to live dangerous and take the chance of getting thrown out of a game and possibly suspended!"
The person recording saying “he could’ve killed somebody” was kind of a dead giveaway he was using an illegal bat. She probably saw how hard the ball ricocheted off the swing
Ronnie Medina Because they are at an age where it would be dangerous to use bats that have insane pop. Therefore, the leage downgraded the bat to a material less dangerous than alumimum. Such as a composite that would make the bat less dangerous. That is the reason MLB players swing wood
Damn that's a smart catcher right there. He notices right away, doesn't let the kid take it away, and then calls time to deal with it. That's a lot to deal with in the midst of an inning
I always loved playing teams like this. Can't throw, can't run, and the catcher has to waddle past home just so he can make it to the pitcher. No wonder they are on a softball field. Merica!
An illegal bat is an illegal bat...period. When someone uses an illegal bat, there is a penalty...that's why it's called an illegal bat! Duh! Read the RULES!!!
Something about the bat breaks the rules for how it's supposed to be built. They can be designed different ways so that they're springier and will hit the ball farther.
Even in youth baseball there are rules. Especially in regards to the bat. The illegal bat he used will help with the hit going further than if he played with a regulation bat.
Because they are batters and batsmen or batswomen or batspersons are in your cricket. In recent times even batspeople in cricket are being called batters...so now you've got it.

+Erik Baran I play 12u in USA and u can get as big a lead as u want
yes so can we
1:15 😂😂😂 that run tho
Can I please have the last 6:53 of my life back.
realistindenial I know
1:16 kid running made me weak
Hey me
I have 27 subs more than you
The person recording saying “he could’ve killed somebody” was kind of a dead giveaway he was using an illegal bat. She probably saw how hard the ball ricocheted off the swing
Can someone tell me why it’s not allowed for to hav different bats
Ronnie Medina
Because they are at an age where it would be dangerous to use bats that have insane pop. Therefore, the leage downgraded the bat to a material less dangerous than alumimum. Such as a composite that would make the bat less dangerous. That is the reason MLB players swing wood
Why is this video longer than 2 minutes and 10 seconds?
So you can realize how moderately obese kids play sports
Screw the bat, that kid was like 23. He had arthritis in his knees!
23 with arthritis? Are you a moron?
JimShore it means he’s a grown ass man
hey does can someone tell me what is wrong with a illegal bat or why its ilegal
The team with the illegal bat, did you notice Bellichek in the dugout saying, "We are on to Cleveland, we are on to Cleveland."
Gay
Damn that's a smart catcher right there. He notices right away, doesn't let the kid take it away, and then calls time to deal with it. That's a lot to deal with in the midst of an inning
6:00 got Tatis jr steppin up now
ok im not into baseball but what makes the bat illegal and how can you tell if it is one?
that bat was the best bat they ever made at the time. i loved that one
I have more fun watching paint dry underwater.
I just like how the girl is in the background saying he should be out
That is the rule (assuming this is Little League) Usage of illegal bat is automatic out, and one of the bench coaches is to be ejected (rule 6.06d)
Good thing the paratroopers came swarming in to take this dangerous illegal bat
What type of bat was it?
Illegal bat, the batter is OUT!
Who gives a shit
looks like a beautiful ball park. Where is this. Scenery is amazing.
how do u know if the bat is legel to use or not I play in a coed league and they have shaved the bats out
I always loved playing teams like this. Can't throw, can't run, and the catcher has to waddle past home just so he can make it to the pitcher. No wonder they are on a softball field. Merica!
THE PFP?!?
@@formzz7671 yea hat person prolly knows nothing about baseball
Your pfp is a sin against God
Before all my softball games they check the bats so this doesn't happen
Same
They do that before our baseball games too
Ya me too I'm in softball
What is illegal bat?
+Alex Dewey A bat made out of a certain material that hits the ball better.
how can you catch without knee savers? once you try you don't want to play without them anymore
i could tell from the way the ball sounded off the bat that the bat was illegal
2:09 "uh-oh speggetios"
I'm gonna save everyone's time.
He used a USSSA bat instead of a USA bat....
That was not a standard 4 years ago.
His slide has me dying lol
Busted!!! Stay within the rules & regulations. Good for you coach. I'm just happy my son never had a coach like you.
Yeah god forbid he plays for someone who ENFORCES the rules on,your little snowflake.
So, the bat was an ILLEGAL bat, and there is no out or ejection? That ump SUCKS!!
Caleb Bois
- were you intending to comment?
It was only a single. That ILLEGAL bat wasn't what caused him to get a hit.
An illegal bat is an illegal bat...period. When someone uses an illegal bat, there is a penalty...that's why it's called an illegal bat! Duh! Read the RULES!!!
An illegal bat is to be removed at the time it beeing illegal is discovered, no prior actions are to be reversed in relation to the bat
Least athletic game of baseball I’ve ever seen 😂
💀💯
What's that bat called?
im pretty sure you can only use u trip bats in fields that are 350 dead center and 300 at the foul poles
Rec ball... Satan's game.
ikr
This guys are is gonna be destroyed by the time he gets to College with the amount of off speeds/breaking balls he is throwing
He's not getting to College. He sucks
Joseph Hernandez Lmao
He's not even pitching fast
Bernie Sanders Welll ofcourse he is not its an offspeed/Breaking ball lol they aren't supposed to be fast
Throwing off speed and breaking balls before the age of 16 is a great way to blow a young arm out. This kid is done by 18
They need to taking care of the grass in the outfield
Bro, I played in grass that was 5 inches tall once. Not even kidding.
I don't understand the whole "Illegal Bat" thing. If someone can explain it to me please that will be nice!
Hello i'm European and no idea what the fuck is that all about
Kids bat is illegal
Something about the bat breaks the rules for how it's supposed to be built. They can be designed different ways so that they're springier and will hit the ball farther.
Even in youth baseball there are rules. Especially in regards to the bat. The illegal bat he used will help with the hit going further than if he played with a regulation bat.
I'm american and I don't either
Why a batter not called a
Batman uh??
Shaq is called "superman"..... is basketball a sport or a comic book??
Because Bruce Wayne owns the copyright on Batman.
Because they are batters and batsmen or batswomen or batspersons are in your cricket. In recent times even batspeople in cricket are being called batters...so now you've got it.
Those mountains in the background are amazing. Is this in the San Fernando Valley?
Vegas 🙂
@@marifoster680 that’s nice
what bat is that?
The ump is suppose to check the bats before the game even starts
Not always
In 15 years never before have I seen an umpire inspect bats before the start of a game.
I have. And im 11. :3
Not every league requires this.
Not by our state rule... Not our responsibility unless it is brought to our attention.
