      While yes you have on average 60 seconds for every question on the ACT math section, most people would advise not to spend 60 seconds on every question. The ACT math section progresses in difficulty meaning the questions start easy and end hard. This makes it better to pace yourself in a non repetitive way. So instead of spending 60 seconds every question, do the first 10 or so in 30 seconds, leaving you more time than a minute on the last 10. I've always been reccomended to try and save 15-20 minutes for the last 10 questions as those are the hardest.

    AP Stats method for the question at 1:50:
    normalcdf (74.4, 1E99, 69, 2.7) = 0.0227

    Hi Brooke,
    Does the ACT "throw away" frequently missed/confusing/hard questions like the SAT (at least, I've heard the SAT does this)?

    • @SupertutorTV
      @SupertutorTV  5 років тому +7

      No. There are no throw aways for difficulty. However, if a question has an error (such as two answer choices that work or a mistake in verbiage) it will be thrown out.

    Is the SAT course going to be released to before the December test? Also do you think that there will be enough time to study for the December test once the course drops.

    SupertutorTV, if you see this, could you please make videos with tips and strategy for essay and reading.
    My problem with writing essay is that I write like a 6th or 7th grader but I am a junior. So I need to improve on that.
    For my reading, I read slower than a lot of students in my grade and sometimes don't understand what I just read. I need to improve on that too.
    I might take the ACT (with essay) in a few months.

    • @mr.klunee4103
      @mr.klunee4103 5 років тому +3

      Probably a little late but if you can only get an 18 then the problem is that you have not achieved mastery over the content. You need to spend time practicing the questions themselves and understanding (not learning but *understanding* ) how to get the correct answer.

    For the second problem, if I plugged in 1 for m, and 2 for n, the answer could've been A or E. Is this part of luck that you plug in bigger numbers than those 2?

    • @MusicalInquisit
      @MusicalInquisit 5 років тому +1

      1 is one of those numbers that can easily go away. This is why it is better to start with 2. Also, plug and check does involve some luck, so it is not recommended you try that every time you see a problem.

      Logged in just to reply to this
      If you ruled out C instead, that's just a testament to why C is incorrect as an answer
      The way the question is phrased makes it annoying - if you just forget about x and make all your terms different letters, like (a + b + c)(d + e) there's no way to collapse any terms so the maximum is 6. Instead of worrying about making a calculation error or wondering if there is a way to get more, using variables/letters makes you focus on the actual problem

  • @alyssa5101
    @alyssa5101 4 роки тому

    Me, a lazy (and I'd like to think) semi-intelligent person, about halfway through the second solve: why are you doing this nonsense, just test out m=2 with n=3 (as was done) and eliminate A, B, and D (again, as was done). Granted, I'd do this after eliminating B and C, though, from testing out m=0 and n=1; 0 nonzero terms there, so therefore anything adding together would be greater than 0 (in my case, 1) and therefore wrong. No need to do large exponents, right? Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
