Terry, if possible for a future marble repair especially if you are drilling a hole, combine the marble dust with the epoxy for a near invisible repair..

You folks found some wall paper at the Chateau that I seems to recognized. I'm a former journeyman painter and wallpaper hanger. I live in Helena, Montana USA. I have hung this paper I believe in the early 1980's. It was very expensive then and it needs double cut as it salvage on both end. The paper is Van Luite. a company the is named after the artist from the "Art & Craft" era. You will be happy to know that the paper is still available and easier to hung without liner trim and prepasted. At 73, I can't help. but I love looking at your progress and I can at least offer this advise. Charles Michaud

You’re a true artisan Terry, and Ash, you’re such an incredible worker. What you’ve achieved in such a short time is absolutely incredible. I admire you both so much, you’re truly inspirational.
I’ve turned an antique sideboard into a double vanity for our bathroom reno, and it’s much more difficult than it appears in your video. All that planning and modifying of panels and drawers. This just proves my existing observation, that you are a humble soul Terry. Humility is a wonderful quality, and is to be admired also. Thanks again, for the quality content.

Hey all, love what you are doing by reclaiming old furniture to use for vanities, etc. May I respectfully suggest that you consider using a respirator mask when drilling that marble, though? Never seen woodstain used this way! I've used tempera and linseed oil emulsions and shellack, but this was impressive with only one simple medium! I've been thinking of doing my own vanity when I get to my bathroom fix up, but been daunted by the various challenges involved, this really boosted my confidence in being able to give it a go myself. Thanks alot! 😊

I really do love your channel. Especially creating "expensive" touches on the cheap. Your sink transformation was fabulous. I only have one (small) critique. You mentioned seven times how you were going to paint the coving, three times on adding the gold touch and three times on adding the 'grain'. (And at the end of the vid.) Personally, I think you should leave the viewer room to ask questions and get us involved. I apologize. I will still watch. Anxious to see your progress. Ohio

Terry, you have such a keen eye for detail, the château really is lucky to have had you become its caretaker. All throughout history, fine artisans have been using painting techniques to make plain plaster look like different materials. Your woodgraining on the coves is a perfect example of this technique, and I consider you to be a master designer and craftsman, you have the soul of the muse of beauty. Everything you touch turns into gold and Ash is such a lucky man to have you as a partner. You are able to take discarded items and visualize them into something new and beautiful. Your upholstery skills are impeccable and your painting skills are amazing. I think you are the one that edits the videos as well and they are all done so professionally. You never cease to impress me with your talents. The château will be a true masterpiece when you are done and will be admired for many many years. Cheers to you, your fans ChuckandMax

Terry, the wood of the vanity looks like it could do with a bit of a feed. There are restoration oils that you wipe on and then buff off. It nourishes the wood and gives a light shine. Your vanity will look superb after.
Another thing. I noticed that there is a corner missing on the baseboard of the vanity. If you aren’t planning to use the hinged top, you can cut a piece out of that to repair it as it will be the same veneer and you won’t have issues trying to find the right colour stain to get it to match.
Just a couple of ideas to help you with your projects. What you are doing to the chateau is amazing.

Like Ash, I can Not envision the end result. So throughout I was thinking isn't that supposed to look like a Plaster Molding? Why are you painting it Brown? What, Woodgrain? Now Gold? Well Let Me Tell You, That Looks Spectacular!!! So Glad You Have Vision, Terry! I couldn't "trust the process" After the first step, I'd throw in the towel, thinking that's gonna look like crap! Decorative Artist chiming in here- for the best results for a faux bois look (faux wood grain) start with an undercoat of pale yellow paint for lighter woods, a deep orangey coral for medium toned woods with orange hues, and a deep salmon color for cherry, mahogany etc. Then apply stain once that has thoroughly dried. That gives you the depth and hue of real wood and also allows for fewer coats! Going over white always takes forevvvvver!
    That being said…. Looks fantastic!
