Last week l alighted at Tallarook station,1st time in 43 years, went bushwalking there in the 70s,walked to the site of Granite station on the closed Tallarook-Mansfield rail line,now the great Victoria rail trail,sure would have been a picturesque linecaught a excursion train to Yea in the early 70s,along the Goulburn River ,good to get back to the rook,apart from the Stony Pt line,this is the only sprinter trains lve caught in recent times,like the old sprinter trains🎄🚆
I often wonder why Vline still uses these old diesels for the Seymour run. It might be old but it seems to run well. What’s its top speed? Love the XPT
It is from the 1980's. They are in the process of replacing the xpt now. It might be a while before they are seen on the tracks as they are in dispute with the overseas builder of the replacement train. 🤔 👍😀

These sprinters are good for 130kph which is perfect for the Seymour line. 👍😄
Bit of parallel HST (spot the Brit) thrash as well! The line speeds for a mainline are dreadful, though.
