Yeah, there was a thin line between elektro & techno back then. Still the best period for real techno, imo. Umek, Psychogene, Midfield General, etc. were al killing it!

I also remember Ben Sims and the like at around 2001 was so fucking hard. I can enjoy it but personally for me Techno was the best from 91 to 99 (the more subtle Detroit stuff mostly which luckily came back into the scene more prominent later on again.
I know Psychogene more from his Sharpside alias which was bangin'. Midfield General, had to look it up but seems more Experimental, TripHop kinda stuff which is not my cup of beer.

Obviously it's subjective. For example: I really can't stand those early 90's techno records. For me, they lack some kind of depth in the production process. I don't really know how to describe it, tbh. Sharpside is indeed the way to go. I still believe that Umek @ I
