    perhaps THE most perfect and almost spiritual encapsulation of what electronic music and techno can mean to us humans. this track is techno's equivalent to kubrick's '2001 - a space odyssey'. pensive, questioning, utterly serious and still deeply powerful, energetic and fresh and strong and acidically bouncing. i can think of many amazing techno tracks throughout the years and decades, but none has this confidence and epic sense of discovery and longing.

    just perfect. I keep coming back to this one time and time again, the drum machine groove is so straightforward, maintains the energy throughout, the complimentary bassline works so well with it. the acid carries it onwards and upwards and the strings set the mood beautifully.

      @@rossduckering7048it was all the same back in the day. I use the same definition of techno as RDJ: whatever is cutting edge and at the forefront of electronic music. EDM isn't techno, but this is. If it's good enough for RDJ, it's good enough for me ;)

    • @rossduckering7048
      @rossduckering7048 2 місяці тому +1

      @@lebannerfan65 respect for your opinion and I fully agree with you that there’s “business techno” these days which is crap, or the misguided definition of techno by EDM’ers. EDM is just the commercial wing of all electronic genres these days. However when I was playing back in the day and in the early 90’s, most DJ’s were defined by the quality of music they played and genre they tended to put out. Don’t get me wrong, the best DJ’s usually had a very extensive/eclectic taste in music from commercial, instrumental genres to all the underground electronic ones,.. and many like myself might have played a blend of house to techno and Jungle in a set, or just a genre specific set like techno. But generally it wasn’t all the same as I saw it, hence why you got nights billed differently, whether that be House, Chicago House, Techo, Detroit techno, Garage, Jungje, Drum & Bass ect
      To be fair it was released on a predominantly techno label, played endlessly by proper techno DJ’s and has strong links to techno history. But by definition it’s structured as an electro track and was billed as acid then electro then techno.
      I appreciate none of this matters when the needle hits the record! 🙌
      Peace ✌️

      True. I merely think the music taste of today's youth can't be regarded as some sort of a standard. I think youth has no guidance today, they have the net but no idea what to search for. So they stick to the trash pop/rap the main(mean)stream media feed them with.
