Insane comparison! Definitely a level of quality you can’t replicate with Hasselblad but the fact that you can get a great photo with the Nikon is just an ode to what an amazing photographer you are ✨
🙏🙏🙏🙏
U can definitely replicate the Hasselblad with a newer camera in the $2000 range
Terrific Comparison! While the Hassy images had great pop and contrast, the 10 year old Coolpix produced images that were not 'a world apart" from the Hassy. Really another great reminder to just shoot what you got, and don't get caught up in chasing and keeping up with the latest and "greatest". If the Nikon images were not sitting next to the Hassy images, I would admire them and be perfectly happy with them.
I agree - I have a Canon Powershot s110, and I love to take it when traveling. Full control, RAW, and images look great, especially in good light.
I have this Coolpix camera! Bought it years ago. And actually stuck with Nikon ever since: D3100, then D7100, then the D700 and now the Z6.
the main difference, except for the monster resolution gap...is glass glass glass...that tiny sensor with good light can produce acceptable pictures
Also is it just me but the models face looks different in both cameras? Most likely because of the different focal lengths and lens distortion but it’s interesting to see the comparison side by side!
Yes! Different focal lens distorting the face, I couldn’t tell what focal length I was using on the Coolpix, so I was just eyeballing it 😭😂
Definitely NOT a 12 thousand dollar difference in results !
honestly, i kinda appreciated that it was not so typical "crazy wide open look"
I kind of liked it too! Surprisingly 😂
@@IreneRudnyk Yea Surprisingly. We wasted our money in the wide open lenses 😅
What a great challenge! Amazed at how much you could get back with editing the Nikon! The only time I find that gear really matters is when you have to shoot moving subjects in low light.
Low light, fast moving, when you need a specific look that only some lenses can give you, I guess it matters, all technical. But you can create beautiful art with whatever!
Great video and a very good example of how much gear actually counts. It also proves that nowadays editing is maybe more than 50% of the end result.
Looks more like a difference in glass, with the in-out of focus and the corresponding aperture. Man, great job on the Nikon.
The comparison is like when you have few ingredients to cook something. A good cooker can create something very good, like you with the Nikon, but having more ingredients of good quality, can create something of paradisiac! From your hands anyway...always fantastic works❤
I know I sound like a broken record but: Irene always finds the most beautiful models.
Lesha is one of my favourites! She has the best personality as well
Thanks for sharing this funny comparison! I like all of your videos…You are a great Portrait photographer and one with great imagination! You are also a master at model styling in the studio! congratulations on your great gift from hasselblad!
But the winner of the camera comparison is totaly clear the Nikon. I watched this video carefully, this little camera had, over 10 years ago, an internal option for changing the hair color 😂
Interesting comparison.
These are worlds that are hard to describe.
No matter the gear, Irene will take insane photos 💪🔥
🙏🙏❤️❤️
well The power of irene rudnyk whatever camera he hold.. Even a toy one hahah.. love lots irene
I actually liked this video.. The old nikon pictures actually looks good with sufficient lights, good editing skills..
Super funny comparison 😂 but I love these kind of videos
The Nikon pictures are a world apart. It’s like comparing an electric toy car to a Tesla. Many of the details, that disturb me here on UA-cam will be even more disturbing on a bigger print.
Loved this idea. I wonder if you can take it a step further in post by using subject selection and AI processing to make a cheap camera image indistinguishable from an expensive camera.
I guess I could blur the background on the Coolpix one and do some artificial upscaling, it’s possible!
@@IreneRudnyk maybe I’m imagining it but your model looked more relaxed (less pressured, more fun,….) when you were using the coolpix. Anyway, great stuff here, love your work, styling, ethics, all of it. Keep going!
Thanks for a fun video. Aside from the difference in sharpness, there is pretty significant chromatic aberration visible in the Nikon images, with none from the Hasselblad.
The P&S put up more of a fight than I would have expected, but Hasselblad FTW.
Amazing comparison!! I just did a inspo of yours will be uploading in my Instagram later a photoshoot that u failed from your UA-cam video with that tittle ,, amazing video again here!!
*Should I crack the fart joke again or you'll laugh without it??😂❤*
very interesting comparison. I have been thinking about going medium format digital, but since I shoot mostly performance don't like the speed of handling of the cameras. the Hassy shots here seem to have that over used bg blur and heavy color we usually see in 120. For advertising/product I would go X2D (or Fuji) but for portraits I generally preffered the look of the the P&S (CCd maybe) camera.
I really like the cheap camera images! Beautiful pictures with lots of detail for a cheap price! Not to mention saving your back and shoulders! If the final destination is a phone screen anyway why not
Another educational BTS. Do you have a video comparing a Canon R5 + RF 85mm f1.2 versus a Hasselblad X2D + XCD 90mm f2.5?
I don’t yet!
That should be an interesting showdown. Thanks for all the fantastic videos, as always!
Great video (as always) 👌. It's crazy how good the colours of the Nikon are even though it's a whole different class/type of camera. I think the only significant difference is that the Nikon doesn't allow you to dial in a wide aperture and of course the way you can shoot (handling etc.).
There are many significant differences, I can’t shoot manually on the Coolpix, can’t properly focus ( it’s just autofocus and it terrible 😂😂) can’t change lenses, can’t even see what focal length I’m using haha I can only zoom in and out “blindly”
I mean there is so much more, it’s just a point and shoot, the opposite of a professional camera.
Also Irene, with the backlit shots & the X2D put a 1-2 stop ND filter on it if you want to shoot wide open, or better yet a polariser, to 'can' that glare, or the included lens hoods; this could also improve the contrast, and hence AF performance.
But the problem is that I like the glare! Haha
Put the Hasselblad lens on f/5.6 to get a better comparison of the colors and sharpness.
Thank you, that was worthy to whatch, as always. Now I know that for vacation I dont need Hasselblad and a bag of lenses.
The Hasselblad is the clear winner, but the Nikon did all right. Put them both in a studio envionment with controlled backgrounds the Nikon's greater depth of field would be less of a challenge.
Waw love you video ❤ , so unique ❤❤
The issue is that the Hasselblad integrates a very similar sensor technology than on all other 35mm cameras : the Nikon Z is a far more versatile system and it’s possible to add many specialized lenses such as the Sigma 105mm 1.4 ART and 135mm 1.8, Sigma 40mm 1.4 ART and many beautiful Nikon Z 1.2 lenses or older AIS lenses. So it’s hard to imagine that paying an extra 10k or more for the Hasselblad. On a 4K or 8K screen even a small Nikon Z30/50 paired with any Viltrox 1.2 lens would be no different visually!
Irene would love some editing videos's please.
Do use a UV filter to protect your lenses?
I don’t really, no
after watching this video, I wonder what people mean that the Hassy slows you down. specially if you look at 12:44
It slows you down because the autofocus is pretty slow
Well, this was a good extreme. but now, you can do the same test with first price APS-C DSLR and and 50mm f/1.8 on it. I'm pretty sure that difference is almost not noticeable ;-)
Do this with the new iphone and Hasselblad :D
I’m on it! 🫡
@@IreneRudnyk oh, nice! Big hug from Brazil :)
I didn’t hear you ever actually say which images were from which camera but if you were trying to sell them to me I would buy the stack on the right. The ones on the left lost the surrounding areas of the model and the background in most of the shots.
What was that sound at 1:48 ?
Modern AI editing programs can corrct out-of-focus images (such as faces); turn low res to high res (just look at the stunning B&W imagery in the film "Zone of Interest" where low res Infra red images were manipulated by AI). AI can even alter bokeh to one's taste. I think we are nearing a time when these very expensive cameras will no longer be needed by most people to get stunning photos. Of course, it's nice to have a high-end camera in the meantime. 🙂
Hasselblad vs Canon R5, please!
Nice video anyway.
Noted!

Irene dont read the troll comments, of course a cheap canera with a pro photographer would take almost same quality picture like if you have pro body cam.
2:46 I like the Nikon colors so much, and all is crisp and clear :)
Irene interesting~! but Nikon does it pretty well ! more precisely, if to be, then you are good at it! cameras have nothing to do with it
A great comparison proves that advanced cameras need to use artificial lighting to reduce software modifications, otherwise they are almost the same. A camera with a lot of software modifications is no longer a camera, but software to create photos.
Nikon was good for a cheap point and shoot, sharp, But Hasselblad all the way, the bokeh, and the skin tone, a better colour than what the Nikon did, the HCS (hasselblad colour science) from the sensor output, if however you set the Hasselblad to f5.6/f8/f11 you could get it as sharp, its just the fact you are probably wide open @ f2.5 that it has such a dreamy bokeh.
With the cheap compact you can go places, do things and take shots which are impossible with expensive outfit. If a camera is no easy EDC camera, the advantage of ultimate picture quality remains unused luxury. Some places I would fear for my life when getting seen carrying a pro camera ... or anything obviously expensive at all!
Point and shoots can surprise you.
You get a cheap used Nikon D7000 (About $150 used) with a cheap nikon 18-140mm f3.5-f5.6 that creates really good background blur
(about $150 used) and with your post Edit skills , the ordinary viewer of your photos would never be able to tell it wasnt took with your 12 thousand $ set up !
To be honest, in good light conditions the expensive gear isn't worth the money.😉
It all depends on your needs! If you are a commercial photographer you might need all those megapixels.
@@IreneRudnyk I agree, Irene, but as a commercial photographer you would be able to meet your needs in 99% of cases with a $3000,- gear as well. It's even insane what you can achieve nowadays with a good MFT camera.
You can meet your needs but the Hasselblad detail and quality is unbeatable unfortunately, after using it for a while my Canon R5 shots started to look blurry 😂😂😂
@@IreneRudnyk I understand. You just should't zoom-in so much, Irene!😂 Have a nice morning/day/evening/night & thank you so much for all your great videos!😉
Question: did you buy the Hasselblad with your own money or is Hassy now engaging influencer marketing? Just curious.
They gifted it to me :)

Amazing video! The nikon did so well but the hasselblad is just🫠
Irene, you're beautiful as always ❤
I am a fan of Nikon cameras like Nikon D850, Z9 and D7500. There is no camera like Nikon cameras for me.
When you were focusing the Nikon, you kept mentioning that it can’t find her face (meaning that you were trying to focus on specifically her face). With these point-and-shoots having such a large DOF, you don’t have to be so intricate with the focus (ie. going specifically for the face). You could literally focus on anything on the subject (torso, legs, the tree she was leaning against) and the focus will be fine.
Wrong! I missed the focus lots with the Coolpix, if you actually watch the whole video I show examples.
@@IreneRudnyk Maybe it was the extreme backlight scene then. My experience with these cameras is you don’t have to be so intricate because the DOF is so wide. I remember shooting weddings when the D700 was new, although it had/has decent AF, it would struggle in lower light situations. When that happened, I’d pick a high contrast part of the subject to focus on, like the grooms black tux and his white shirt, and make sure I was stopped down slightly. Even though I wasn’t focused on the eye, it still did the job. A point-and-shoot camera without a doubt has a large enough DOF to get creative with where you land that focus point.
Not all point and shoots are the same, this one is super old and cheap and has pretty bad auto focusing, that’s pretty much it.
I’m starting to think the wide-open-aperture look is beginning to look a bit dated. It’s harder to not blur the background because the photographer had to really pay attention to the background. The shots here have me searching eBay for prices of point-and-shoot cameras. LOL
Obviously there is a difference, but not a $12K dollar difference
i dont know but i noticed that in nikon pictures you didt that mush affords.i am telling it because i noticed that the framing in nikon picture that not much good.pardon if i hurt you.i just express my thoughts
Very interesting, it's extremely but then you should be do one a little closer like one 500$ camera
with the 12k and maybe it will be even less diferenece proving have no sense to pay all that by an equipment
❤❤
I trust shooting on my phone more than on an old point-and-shoot.
Oh for sure!
The difference between two images is the autofocus.
Actually both kind of suck at it 😂😂😂
@@IreneRudnyk I am a fan of your photos. I have been following you for two years. I love photography. I also have a Nikon camera. Unfortunately, I dropped the camera and the lens broke.😭😅😅😅

I know the images from both cameras will be beautiful. Its the photographer, not the camera.
😂 like driving Toyota and Porsche it's all about the driver. Funny...
Are you serious? You're comparing a cheap camera to an expensive professional camera.
Yes :)
What's the problem?

It's interesting to see different people's interpretations and takeaways from this video!
To me, it kind of just shows that gear does matter (if you know how to use it). I mean the Nikon photos were beautifully composed and edited, but they are just sub par, compared to the quality of the Hasselblad
I'm an aspiring photographer (recreational for 6 years, more serious for 2 years). And I've noticed that I'm very happy with the way I use light, angles and the way I compose images. But I never liked my photos, because I was using a really old camera with a kit lens. My photography leveled up soooo much after upgrading to a better camera and getting a prime lens. Yes, I did learn and improve in many aspects, but in my opinion, I eventually came to a point where my gear was holding me back from taking the photos I envisioned, and upgrading made me a better photographer. I'm actually proud of my work now
And yea, I absolutely think I would be an even better photographer if I had slightly better gear. However, I do agree that the camera is only as good as the person using it, and you totally made the most of that Nikon
All very valid!
Uffff God… I hope don’t heart any one but my opinion is … if you doesn’t explode all your gear potential you will never feel the difference between them. For me this comparison is like to have a VW Beetle and a Porsche, they are cars with four wheels, are germans cars, same company, etc etc… but if you doesn’t know how to use all the Porsche potential you will make the Porsche looks like a VW beetle. Any way In the other hand yes the photos are good, good composition etc but again I couldn’t see a great difference and Im sure is because the Hassel potential is not exploded in this video. 🤷🏻♂️ maybe Im wrong but is my opinion. 😅
This video shows that camera is not worth as much as it is, and that you don't need a good camera if you know how to compose and know how to edit
It’s not that the camera is not worth that much, it definitely is, but most people will not need all those megapixels, it’s super nice to have thou!
❗️❗️❗️ I think This video is fake. Funny comparison. Medium format camera vs Point&Shoot camera. Who believes their images are similar like that. Come oooooooon! I do not believe these images are real. I am so sorry. But this is my sincere comment
Why would I fake it lol? 😂😂😂
