Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this excavator. I just purchased the 4,000 lbs. version of this excavator and found the included instruction manual to be virtually useless.
Thanks for this video! The manual they sent me just has safety instructions. Did they send you any maintenance documents or instructions for switches, etc .? If so could you link those. Thanks!
I don't have a link to the manual, They send it to me via a link that expired. However I did down load it and have a copy. I could email it if you like.
Thank you. They sent me something. Haha, honestly it doesn't help all that much either way even thought it does have more info. So, I'm just going back to trial and error. So far mine is working pretty well. 1. The battery was dead after two days and wouldn't keep charge when disconnected from the machine on my battery charger. I bought a new battery from the auto store and everything is working well. 2. It did have a diesel leak from the little clear thing at the bottom left when you open the back panel.
@@lilkaufmann that is you fuel-water separator, should be able to tighten that, check the O-ring is in place and not pinched. Probably telling you something you already know 🤪
Thank you for taking the time to do this video I'm planing on buying one,as I thought it will have a few issues but really of them do, Is the quick connect coupler worth it? Did you change all the oils in it before you started to use it? Thank you again
@@ChrisRuggles-b4d I asked the question about the fluids from the seller. This came from a seller in Southern California . When they get the off the ship they are totally prepared for use. I drove it off the shippers trailer ready to go. I did go over fluid levels and greased everything. Checked all the hydraulic fittings and line for leaks and loose fittings. I found no issues. But check everything. Over all a great value. Feel free to reach out if I can answer more questions. I do have a few short videos on a couple of things with this.

I bought one several months ago. I have only 7 hours on the excavator and every 30 minutes of working the tracks come off. I'm not an expert on excavators but I do all my repairs on my cars. from what I can determine, the hydraulic grease cylinder is leaking and losing pressure to keep the track tight. That’s not the worst of my problems with this excavator. They used the wrong bolts to install both gearboxes (wrong pitch). Which destroyed the threads inside the gearboxes. For some reason, the persons who installed the bolts on this excavator screwed up so many threads. The other thing that I had a problem with is the fuel locking cap. It won’t open up. Of course, there are the leaking hydraulic lines. But, with all the problems I’m facing, I still love working with this excavator, when it's working. By the way, do you know what the bolt sizes is for the gearboxes-12mm x 1.75 or 12mm x 1.25?
I am not understanding what you mean by "gear boxes"? If I can understand that I can and am willing to find out the bolt sizes. Are you talking about the cover boxes that cover the hydraulic motors on the drive tracks? I also noted that poor quality of the hydraulic lines, I have owned and worked on a lot of hydraulics, fork lifts, tractors, skid steers..... all of the hydraulics seem to "weep" as opposed to "leak" (leaving puddles) I have yet to have a true leak but they do weep for sure. I have not had any leaks yet. I have had a track come off on me multiple times but those have been my fault, trying to turn to tight in the wrong material. Let me know on the "gear boxs", I am glad to help.
@@onemanswork9248 hello. the part number is S/N6 gearbox 1.6. the reducer motor S?N5 is connected to it. Look at page 47 of the manual. There are 4 bolts that connect the gearbox to the track. the reducer motor has 2 long bolts that connect it to the gearbox. The 8 bolts (4 on each side) are completely different pitch from the bolts they sent me. That would be great if you could look at your excavator gearbox bolts and tell me what you have, no help from China.
@@johonneng4105 I will take a look, it will be a couple weeks before I get it to the shop from my work site. But I will take a look at it and try and figure it out.
would be nice to get a video of it doing some work / pushing its limits
