    Thanks for a new video! Congrats on the new machine 👍 I like that extra width of the FF12 for working in the woods for more stability. The counter weight of the H12 is really nice.
    Filter and the bigger hydraulic tank is nice for the FF.
    I was on the fence about buying the QH12 or the Rippa 1Ton. But overnight all the QH12 on EBay jumped up about $300 so that finally made my decision to buy the Rippa, for only about $400 more, it’s got a hydraulic thumb with 3way valves on the boom, hydraulic lines run in the boom, a fan in the engine bay with the tread on hydraulic filter. Hope it’s a good little machine.
    Thanks again and once get time in on the mini I plan on making a review,
    I will give your channel a big shout out. You are definitely making the best videos I have found on these machines! Thank you! 👍

    I own a FF-12 and you are correct, it's a bitch to get the engine cover off. When I did finally got it off, I threw the bolts in my tool chest, purchased a 12" piano hinge and a couple of latches. Now I have easy access to the engine. I also installed a couple of BMX footpegs on the front roof cover supports about 2-3" up to place my feet for support. Also, the hydraulic knuckle for the bucket has the grease nipple on the outside, which I broke off the first time I used it! I unbolted the knuckle, spun the rod 180o putting the fitting on the inside protecting it from being knocked off again. I have a few more mods I want to do but will have to wait until the weather gets a little warmer. Keep up the videos..

      I too did the hinge mod on my QH12 as well as the hydraulic thumb kit and 2- 8 inch radiator fans, a push and a pull. Kinda worried me when I look in there and the gas is boiling. I like the footpeg idea, I'm borrowing that from you and on mine the knuckle fitting was already on the inside. Good Luck! PS: You can shop carefully, I got the QH12 last year at a Ritchie Bro auction for $3700 and it had a spin on filter.
      Also if anyone does the hydraulic thumb kit and needs an adapter fitting, Discount Hydraulics: 9001-16-14; $10.58 ea. - your welcome

    I own an FF12. OMG that rear cover! I took it off once, then quickly looked for and purchased some adjustable hardpoint clamps, installed them, and never put the old bolts back in. I can now remove the rear cover in under four seconds and it's perfectly secure. It took me an hour and a half to remove that cover the first time and I vowed that I'd never bolt that thing back on again.

    Excellent comparison. I like the fact you went over many of the parts doing comparisons.
    I've managed to speak with people involved in the changes. The reason the ff12 moved the hydraulic tank down was to combat overheating. They still need a fan, but run much cooler than the h12.
    The valve body is higher flow. I machined some new spools for a friend and was shocked to find they didn't fit. I took one of the sections off his and the passages were noticeably smaller.
    A number of the ff12 units I've seen came with the larger 10 or 12cc pump and hydraulic filter. You can tell they were made slightly different because the argotek units rotated the power unit to fit a 2 stage pump.
    Some have a boxed blade like your h12 but it is wider and heavier gauge, but with the plate type supports. The undercarriage is also heavier gauge with a larger motor mounting plate.
    I've also seen some of the ff units with a cast lower similar to the h12 but compatible with the rest of their flimsy body panels.
    The reason for the frame on the ff12 was that they were trying to get rops certification, but I didn't get clarification on them achieving it.

    Appreciate the comparison of these machines. I'm considering purchase of one in the near future. I've got a dealer maybe 20 miles from me who is selling the FF12 machines. After watching this video, I like what I see on the H12 unit better. The counter weight, and the reinforced blade seem like a better option to me over the other unit. I do like the thumb on the FF12 better though. Either unit would serve me as this will just be used around my home, but the H12 just seems the better choice to me.

    Had a peek at the last RB auction and noticed some changes to the FF-12/13 models with the 2014.1 date stamp on the data plate… they are coming with filters in them now and a few other machines I looked at had hydraulic coolers and filters in them but I don’t recall the brand name on those but I want to say they were possibly CH12’s…

    Hi, I just picked up a FF12 here in CT. The one question I have today Is.
    My hydraulic tank is under floor on the right and it came equipped with a hydraulic filter mounted in the engine compartment mounted to the right , between the engine and the throttle. Before I try to add extra cooling to the engine, I am looking for an effective way to cool it
    Should add two fans to the shroud or install an oil cooler. Thanks in advance.

    Awesome comparison between the two. I was leaning towards an AGT but saw several FF12's on an auction so searched for a comparison and found your video. I'm not taking the FF12 off the table as it should serve my needs but the price would have to be right and now I know what to be aware of. Thanks again. Edit. In another video on the FF12, the guy tried to move the tie bar for the thumb from the default middle hole to one of the other two holes and found both were too small to take the pin. I'm curious whether you encountered the same problem?

    My QH12 came with a spin-on hydraulic filter and you also overlooked the blade sets out further on the QH12 which increases the lift power when used as an outrigger opposed to the counter weight. The ff12 also doesn't operate the posthole auger well due to the low volume from the small lines.

    I'm buying a FF12 next week and am in need of the brush cutter and auger attachment. The company I am buying it from is currently out of both attachments and said they should have more in within the next few months. I did some searching online and saw AGT's website. They have both attachments for the 1 ton mini excavator and I was hoping they would work on the FF12. The person I am getting the FF12 from said the bolt is 255mm and I need to make sure they attachment bolt is the same. Hey-really great video series. I’m very close to pulling the trigger on one of these, so your vids have been crazy valuable. I’ve narrowed down my choices to the QH12 or H12. Leaning toward the H12. Despite AGT saying they’re both the same, but just “look different”, they’re clearly quite different. Aside from the stuff you’ve pointed out so far, I’m finding some differences in the operational specs. So I’m wondering if you might do a comparison vid where you take measurements of the various functions, such as max boom height, max digging depth, etc. The specs I’ve found show some definite differences, but who knows how accurate the data is? Might also be good to dig into the actual specs of the B&S engine to see if it’s truly a 13.5hp unit.

    • @thegarageconnection
      @thegarageconnection  10 місяців тому +1

      The engines are true Briggs units, and as far as I can tell the h12 will lift more before tipping over due to the counterweight, and the qh12 seems to overheat the fluid a bit faster

    • @stanley8574
      @stanley8574 7 місяців тому

      The models seem to change some every year. The general stuff like the weight in the h12 stay the same but other things are subjected to change. If you get one like I did at the time they changing from the 23 to 24 model, you get one that's made up parts from both models which can cause some issues but nothing serious.

    The AGT QH12 has a Briggs & Stratton lawnmower engine that works the hydraulics and tracks. It is slow and bounces and vibrates and it is noisy. Depth is 5.4 feet but I recommend not to dig deeper than 2 1/2 to 3 feet for safety reasons. Parts are made in China. If taken care of and not abused and not left outdoors uncovered, it will last several years. You will need earplugs, hopefully you do not have back problems, this machine is not good if you have kidney problems. It takes nearly 2 hours to dig a 6 foot long and 2 1/2 foot deep trench. As mentioned it is not fast. It is not a child's toy and needs to be careful around objects because it is made of steel. Cost ranges from $6,000 to $8,000 New and Used is $4,000 to $5,000. If you paid more than $6,000 then you have been had.

      36” gate is the actual size of the swinging part of the gate. Figure 1” on each side for clearance and hinges in a chain link fence, 38” overall width of the opening

    AGT has one that has a hydraulic filter built in already. Dont remember the number it is.

      If you look at videos where someone goes to China to see the factory, you would understand why. Many of them are made in the same plant just to different specs depending on the company ordering them. The use of off the shelf parts saves money which is why you saw the same cylinders on both of them shown here. Some, only differ in paint color and lettering.

    The Chinese share a lot of commonality in components between models. That is the smart way to do it. We used to do that in america before our engineers became so stupid.

      In WW II, manufacturers made parts for firearms that interchanged. Thus if you ever come across an M1 Carbine with all the parts marked for the same company, its a fake. No one company made all the parts for a complete one and if company A was running low on a part and company B had excess of them, they were soon on the way from B to A. And if company A had an excess of a part that company C needed, it was on its way also. Winchester made the design but Inland made the most completed firearms of the design. In fact Inland got their first production ones assembled before Winchester. And Inland only made 9 of the parts while Winchester made 15. Both were overshadowed by Underwood which made 35 of the parts. But even their M1's parts weren't all made by them. Same applied to the US Rifle, M-1. Just not as much. As time when on, and battlefield repairs were needed, the parts got jumbled even more. But they interchanged and that was what mattered most. Jeeps were made by Ford and Willys. Same design and parts for the most part. AMC in later years used Ford parts for some things and GM parts for others. Chrysler and AMC designed the Torque-Flite and Torque-Command transmissions. I own a Pontiac Vibe. Check under the body panels and emblems and you will find a Toyota Matrix. Well except for the front axle seals that for some reason are specific only to the Vibe AWD even though the front axles are the same. Chinese are saving money by making only so many designs of things and using them across all of the production.

      Can buy 2 at auction for less than 1 kymron

    • @gravelydon7072
      @gravelydon7072 19 днів тому

      @@SCDeerAddict You may need two to keep one running. The control valves on the Kymron are much better when they leave the shop. They use a feathering type spool so that you can barely move the stick, boom, etc.... while the others are either open or closed which is why they are jerky in operation. So that is one of the reasons. Plus many of the regular auction ones, try getting warranty service on them from a dealer. What dealer? You bought it at an auction, not from a dealer so you likely will have to deal with the manufacturer, in China. I can go about 3 hours to an auction to get one or I can go to a dealer and get the Kymron 4 hours away. And get the parts if needed from Kymron. Kymron if need be could assemble a complete one from parts on hand. Also, you can get a business loan for the Kymron while you won't for the auction one unless it is a personal loan.
      All that said, if you are going to just use it on a weekend around the house, the Chinese auction ones will work. But nothing like a commercial unit will.

      @gravelydon7072 warranty on a machine with basic hydraulics, hoses and a gas engine you can replace with a predator from harbor freight? These machines are the simplest form of a hydraulic system made, the feathered valves can be purchased stateside if one needs that upgrade, they are jerky because most ppl run the machine at wot, the 13hp gas is more power than the machine even needs, idle or 1/4 throttle and the machines are smooth for chinese standards, also the relief valve are set way to high sometimes, i have seen some set at over 3000 psi, they should be around 2300 or so.
      What proprietary part are you referring to that can't be found on ebay or amazon?
