    ***** This is in response to you, but also just as an open letter to aspiring vocalists out there - feel free to share this.
    I've just come back from a packed out (In some cases sold out) tour where I personally hugged over 1,200 people who all said that the singing was awesome. I used to take comments like yours to heart, until the reality of the situation overwhelmed the individual hate comments - what I'm saying is that, I don't require your blessing to sing.
    For every vocal hate comment I get, I normally receive 20 positive comments... I have even been asked to teach vocals now (Something I won't be doing because I'm still learning)
    My voice feels really good now, I can sing, pitched scream and use heat when required with no issues of tuning... the guys in my band are really happy with it and live I have received nothing but praise.
    I have proven my vocal ability to myself through the recording process of my forthcoming album "Centred & One" which is going to be immense, and that's an understatement.
    Anyone out there learning to sing who would like some advice, trust your own ears, work your ass off and be prepared and armed to deal with the occasional negative comments that you will inevitably be getting at the beginning... there is a lot more opinionated hate out there for vocalists because everyone feels they can sing.
    The key to cracking it all is to look at the facts, be your own judge, value the opinion of honest friends and do not listen to or take to heart comments from people who start comments with "No offence but..." they generally are attempting to elevate there own emotional position via a put down.
    Take it easy guys

      On the vocal part of your essay. The internet is full of trolls who hide behind their anonymity. As with anything t is good to get some constructive criticism though so you can know what to improve what works what does not. Don't rely on the internet though for that criticism get it from friends who can voice an opinion without getting their knickers in a bunch.

      Rob Chapman Well said, Chappers. I for one think you have a great voice for rock, metal, possibly even blues, and it's very well suited to the music you play, and although i don't sing, i agree that the key to being a great vocalist is having faith in yourself, if you believe you can do it then as long as you're able to stay in pitch you give yourself more confidence to be the best vocalist you can be

      Rob Chapman I think your vocals are nice, Chappers. It's refreshing to hear a man singing like a man; with a nice deep voice, but able to go dirty when the situation calls for it. Keep up the good work. ^^

    hey rob, i was thinking of something, and shoot me down if you think its silly. if you want people to mod your guitars and make them their own, maybe you could sell a sort of "husk" version of your guitars, where its got no electronics, and/or no finish on it or maybe no finish on just the top, maybe even without hardware. That way you could drop what ever you wanted in it and paint it up!

    • @justinMacPhee
      @justinMacPhee 9 років тому

      Brodie Calis the cost of his electronics are like a .50 cents he says in one of his videos. the difference of the barebones one would be several dollars really it seems like.

    • @JackBealeGuitar
      @JackBealeGuitar 9 років тому +1

      Pickups cost more than 50 cents don't they? At least I seem to spend a lot more than that one them, even at cost I'm sure they'd be more than that! Maybe a blank guitar with switches and pots and a loom, but no pups, no machine heads or bridge hardware

    • @jvin248
      @jvin248 9 років тому +1

      Jack Beale Guitar Price is what the market will pay and often has no relationship to cost. Buy all the parts for a pickup in bulk, make some parts in-house and the price can be "$0.50" easy. For "quality" I've bought some ebay pickups "retail" new for $10 a set that blow away famous brand pickups that sell retail for $250 a set - but they can get that price because people pay for the logo brand.

    The ML-2 Classic Gold Top is my go-to guitar!! Holy Cow is it an awesome axe!
    Since I purchased it 2 weeks ago (Riff City), it has quickly become "thee" guitar for the majority of my projects. With plenty of Gibson's, Gretsch's, and Fender's from which to choose; I believe that says a TON about how great Chapman guitars are. The quality and playability equal that of my highest end guitars. Thanks Chappers! You've done an AWESOME job of designing guitars and having them made with the greatest of care and excellence.

    There is a rumour about Ben, apparently he has a small flap of skin below his man breast (a bit like a kangaroo pouch) where he keeps a small collection of cheese and biscuits that gather in the summer months, he then eats these throughout the winter when food is scarce. He has been observed in his natural habitat on many occasions doing this.
    Do not approach a Ben when they are eating, it is considered an act of courtship.

    Hey Chappers, I have one of your awesome early ML1's in fact I believe it's a prototype or a limited run. Anyway, that's by the by but I must say that your ML1 is one of the most versatile guitars I have ever played and although it's on the heavy side. I must say you outshine by far some of the guitars I have played by some of your competitors in the Korean factory. I have a PRS SE Paul Allander with the passive humbuckers and I have had Shecter's a many but your guitars are just the dogs bollocks mate so please please please keep doing what you're doing and ROCK THE FUCK ON!!

    That royalty free music track :54 gets me every time. I've seen so many bands use it over the years, but I'll always remember John Campbell saying "Gooold plated!" in one of Lamb of God's tour videos.

    Rob,
    sorry to hear you got sick, but also glad to hear that you're feeling better!
    Your singing voice is fantastic, man! Don't worry about the negative comments.
    When you come to the US for clinics/tour, will you be bringing any left handed guitars?
    Best,
    Bryan

    Chappers, I have to tell you this: I HATE metal music, yuk, yuk, yuk! I am a bluesman. BUT... I have just finished listening to several Dorje vids and you have made a believer out of me!!!! Your singing is brilliant and Dorje is a wicked, outrageous, bad-ass band that rocks it right out of the park!!! Carry on! Carry on!

    I've very interested in the small Victory amp! That's cool news, Rob! Though I'm a Yank...I've always preferred British amps (Marshall predominantly).

    Thanks, Rob. I just subscribed to Maangchi's channel. I'm a quarter Korean (and a quarter English) and my grandmother made great kimchi.
    Mom's from Hawaii and we put kimchi on everything. Kimchi on a sandwich with mayo, kimchi meatloaf, kimchi burgers.... kimchi fried rice....
