- Snake mites SUCK! And I have had them a few times in my keeping. I used every reptile treatment out there but a few years ago was introduced to Frontline and it changed my life. Not even exaggerating!

Any recommendations on less than 200grams snakes? Are they safe to use on them. ?

Put some reptile spray on my collection yesterday and I have 1 snake is now twitching after treatment.
Any recommendation now that Frontline spray has been discontinued
It was only in the states for a week or two maybe it stressed out and died. They seem tough as nails as long as they get enough water and get cooled down at night.One month later I put it on my dog and she(Bloodhound×Rottweiler )and she had a 10 minute seizure.Fipronil hasn't quite won me over.I have used it on a dozen more snakes without problems. I say better than no-pest strips but possibly dangerous.Thanks for your opinion. 63.
After using frontline on my snakes my baby Burmese python died now I’m noticing neurological issues with my small bias is this from frontline?

What would you say the minimum weight for a ball python to receive treatment. I have three 3/4 mo old BP that came with presents 😡

Best solution for mites is to use taurrus mites they eat the eggs and mites used them for past 2 years

Not all mites are bad. ”Hypoaspis” are predatory and when there are no more bloodsucking mites the predatory hypoaspis ones deop dead themselves. Tho they have trouble killing adult mites so you still need some traditional methods prior to introducing hypoaspis. Be advised when doing so.

what if it’s a 1 year old boa about 3 ft long ? can i use the spray on them ?
update: the spray is okay to use if its a 1 year old boa, my boa was exactly 28 inches, and im happy to say no longer has mites thanks to frontline. dont use so much, only a little at a time

Its very doubtful that the frontline killed the boa. This has actually been very approved. It’s alcohol based and that is what actually kills the mites. It destroys the exoskeleton which is how they breathe. Not harsh chemicals. I am very sorry for your loss, but it probably was not the frontline.
The treatment I used on the dog was Pet Armor plus and it also contains
It also contains (S)Methoprine 8.80% that may have caused the problem with the dog.It was pulled from the market for a couple years I later found out. 63edbs

You definitely shouldn’t be using anything from Hartz. Just their flea shampoo alone has killed dogs. I can only imagine what it works do to a snake

I’ve heard if u soak you snake in a bing with water temp of 80 degrees and couple drops of dawn soap water level up to half of snake and just let it soak
