Vintage, but here that thing is still common everywhere. I don't know if that's because we're poor or we just need a constant need of shaved ice. It's perfect for tropical country that consist of 2 seasons, hot and hotter. Seeing this shiny ice shaver is greatest thing ever, great job!
Neat to see an old saw mill blade being re-used. That's what the zig-zags on the blade are. Old saw mill blades are often remade into decent knives, and here is one razor sharp.
Great work, but not as good as your other work. The new screws and bolts make it look like a replica rather than an original. Still very entertaining to watch.
you think you could use a battery pwered drill and brace to turn the handle to make it automatic. Is that food grade greese. Do you worry about the greese driping into the kakigoori.
Really great restoration. I wonder what it would have looked like if, instead of painting it, you just polished the metal and left that (maybe a coating to prevent rust).
Pity that you used Phillips head screws. Looks nice and works well. Finish the painting with the original red details, would be good. butif your uncle will be using ...business is business.
Hey man, congrats on another amazing video. ur the best!! Second, I would like you to consider making a video remaking a electrical scooter/bike baterry. I always wonder what's inside one of those and I guess ur the best guy on YT that could perform a wonderful video of it. Best regards.
I'm no metal worker but I know that as something gets hotter it expands. That being said wouldn't it be best to heat the surrounding metal instead of the bolt directly?
Because its still in the shop, my brain assumes the shaved ice toppings at the end are motor oil and automatic transmission fluid, based on color and viscosity. 😂
Nice job! Observations: use period correct screws, wood plate new, I think the handle should be wood too
No matter where you live in the world, everyone has an Uncle like Gear Show who can fix or restore literally anything.
Thank you!
Unfortunately i don't, but I wish I had
Good restoration, hideous paint job.
the color isn´t mine, but really nice restoration, I didn´t even know that something like this existed, good work and thank you for showing

I have a similar ice shaver, am hoping to restore it soon and have found your video very helpful. Thank you.
I have one just like it. I bought it new 20 years ago when I lived in Thailand. Makes great frozen margaritas.
Really good restoration but that colour looks like old tobacco stained yellow.
I saw that shade in a baby's diaper. Not appetizing.
@@billvegas8146 don't forget...
Chocolate
Protip. Heat the bolts up HOT.. Cherry red hot. Then let them cool. The heat breaks the corrosion that has them stuck.

That's a oldie worth having
Thank you very much for the video! This is great support during covid-19 treatment.

Nice machine, will be of much help during these hot summer days :D
It looks very beautiful.

That's a nice dollop of engine oil on that freshly shaved ice...
good work!
Thanks!
Mechanically sound restoration. Well done. The colours are popular in south Asia, not my taste, but not my machine either. Enjoy your snow cones.
Wonderful as always
Next video: add electric motor🤔

With 18 volt lithium battery 😅
Awesome sir
Wonderful job well done
What made you decide on a single color for the machine? They are usually multicolored like at fairs and carnivals here in Tennessee.
The one he had looks like it was just one color so he made it mono-colored?
Well done!
Dear Sir
It is perfect, cool cool and sweet restoration.
Very cool object well done.
Very nice. Big like 👍
Nice restoration. And it looks like it does a great job at shaving ice. Thumbs Up!
Used a color that was left over from another project?
Awesome I want one, how f a st is that, ready in a jiffy
What, no battery pack to turn that handle 😜.
Another fine job! Good job on putting out videos!
Use to have ice kacang or chendol from the roadside hawker back in Malaysia using this machine. Then some hawkers upgraded it to motor driven machine.

i see the same one still used back in vietnam often
Good job!
Perfect machine

Neat. How artistic were they in the old days with the things they made? Enjoyable.
Amazing...
Ice shaver machines are all about the cutting edge!
It's better to sharpen it with a whetstone.
Also, nail is better for holding the ice firmly.

nice restoration bro...but could better color....I love the Ending...
Thank you! Cheers!
After its restoration, your uncle can make snow cones again for summer
Yes, he asks me many times about it.
Ottimo lavoro fratello, complimenti
I totally see that machine slicing potatoes into thin spiral
Bravo Zulu
I can't believe you left the paint like that, it looks like absolute garbage. Such a waste after all the work you put into it.
Sweet :-)
I'm no metal worker but I know that as something gets hotter it expands. That being said wouldn't it be best to heat the surrounding metal instead of the bolt directly?
neat
13:14 NOOOOOO!!!
I was hoping this would be powder coated.
Is there a new machine like this for sale please i need it
App angle grinder ki restoration karne ke baad uski new wire with plug kaha se lete ho uska naam btao
Time to make some Piña colada's....
A bit disappointed not hearing a 'burp' after finishing the shaved ice. :)
👌👍
Why didn't you paint the letters a different color? Make them stand out?
Should've powder coat.
Because its still in the shop, my brain assumes the shaved ice toppings at the end are motor oil and automatic transmission fluid, based on color and viscosity. 😂
Awesome but new nuts bolts screws make it look off
When using heat, to remove a stuck bolt, you heat where the threads are, not the head of the bolt. You could’ve saved drilling and retapping holes
