Yes! I first heard about Dr Ekman’ research when watching the tv show “Lie to Me” a few years ago. I proceeded to read his book “Telling Lies” and I can’t believe his studies are not more widely known!

It amazing how you detailed you are with what you do. I first saw this video on our culture page and you mention how you still conduct every singe interview. At my interview you asked me to tell you something no one would believe. I stated that I was 26 years old and I’ve never smoked or had a drink/sip of alcohol. You looked at me and said look at me and say it again. After saying it again you said “oh shit he’s telling the truth”. (I’m 28 now and it’s still true) At the time I didn’t know how you was so sure I was telling the truth but after seeing a few videos on the subject of truth, I’m amazed at how you truly apply/practice what you share with us. Thanks for the video. I’ve shared it with my family group chat.

Let’s now apply this information while watching bill gates and other people on the different news stations. I used to watch the show (LIE TO ME) and I was absolutely fascinated by just the small amount I learned. I know it’s TV but there is lots of facts that were presented and I even caught a boyfriend lying using what I learned. Awesome stuff.

Wow, this is interesting. I frequently assess a person's energy along with their body language and most of the time it's fairly accurate. I'm going to try paying more attention to those facial changes and see what I can pick up. Thanks for more awesome info Brett! Ginny @ BDA North

In the movie "The Devil's Advocate", Keanu Reeves character smiled in front of a mirror, before he continued to defend a guilty defendant. He had to change his mood, as he was disgusted by the person he had to represent.

The title of this alone caught my eye, I mean, who doesn't want to catch a liar? Very clever.
What I find relatable it that, I think on some level everyone is guilty of hiding their emotions, myself included. There have definitely been times where I have been under great sadness but, like Brett mentioned, if i "faked" a smile, so to speak, in most cases I actually did feel better. #HackingBehaviorBeforeIEvenKnewIWasHackingBehavior

What if someone just has a crooked or one-sided smile? I do because of nerve damage in my face from a car accident. So now I find out that I look like I hold contempt for everyone because of that? Great.

Of course not. If your expression remains the same its not in response to some other event

The words body language is an oxymoron it should be rightly termed as nonlinguistic communication or nonverbal communication. These words were first uttered by Desmond Morris and it caught on as if the body has a language and language has a body.

That's what I was going to say. He used it to mean pretending not to know or being naive...playing dumb, so to speak...I thought it meant above it all, but when I looked it up, it can mean detached or disinterested...which still isn't quite what he was implying

Anyone’s assessment on eye rolling when confessing an apology | accusation? Example:’this man raped me’ eye roll:looking directly up and back then round to side to complete the roll. ‘I feel bad I didn’t say anything sooner’ eye roll;again, looking up and back then round to side to complete the roll.

Fascinating topic, but too much info in too short a time. For example, I need more than two samples of each microexpression. To you, it's obvious; to me, it's new. Also, by "aloof", do you mean "unaware of information"? I ask because your use of the word "aloof" seems to make no sense. My understanding of "aloof" means to hold oneself back, to not interact much. But one could interact a lot and still play dumb on what info they have. Anyway, more videos would be great.
