With winter coming I'll be checking them. Like anything it will depend on what stumps you are grinding. Many estimates say around 20+ hours. Them you have to sharpen or replace.

Yes. Both can really mess up the grinder. I'm tired of catching wiring when mowing too. Had to cut that off a few times.
