B class was crazy, I was a kid, and I remember, this was before the Collin McRae debut in mid 90s, really till late 80s maybe. There was no limit, and the cars were crazy for the period, Lancia Delta with Crossflow exaust manifolds....
They have something like it now I think? The one that Ken Block drives, but I think it is some stupid small track like a circuit, not a stage. When I was a kid, in the 90s it was end of class B, and Colin McRae started to gain fame, it was still crazy times, and I was watching WRC, driving my dad cars, wrecking them and being scared after that :) I remember when I was in USA to work as a student in 05-06, and I talk to one colleague keen on cars and races. I asked him about WRC, and he didn't know what it was. I said the World Rallye Championship, and he still didn't know. For example, I never liked NASCAR, it has its own techniques, but no offense to anyone, it seems really dumb to me.
Not only that, I think the no limit raised the bar, or removed the abr, basically setting it too high for race, which is really in narrow dirt roads, jumping and sliding like crazy, so I think it was for safety of drivers as well. I always wondered though, why didn't they put more effort of keeping the racing stage clear of spectators. I have seen videos from those years and the 90s, where people are just spreading and running from the car, and the drivers had to slow down. It's like they were cutting through the crowd at times. Take care:)
My ex had a Juke all wheel drive that I drove frequently and I really grew to love that thing. It's like a go kart but you can drive it unlimited off-road situations and in bad weather with confidence. Such neat cars I'm a look at picking one up at some point.
Tyler Dowd The fact of the matter is you can take and AWD 1.6T from the factory floor put some rally rims and tyres on it and compete in a showroom class rally event. They are much faster then they look. The 1.6T is powerful for its size and can easily be tuned to 220hp just with an ESC tune. The CVT is actually better then you'd expect, it does what you tell it to and will even allow you to shift down to and artificial pre select gear to redline, something you can't do in torque converter autos. It's lighter then you think as it's basically a 1.6T AWD Mirca with rally suspension. Homologised rally cars like the Tyler Dowd The fact of the matter is you can take and AWD 1.6T from the factory floor put some rally rims and tyres on it and compete in a showroom class rally event. It's lighter then you think as it's basically a 1.6T AWD Mirca with rally suspension. Homologised rally cars like the Subaru Impreza WRX/STI and lancer Evo make great Tarmac rally cars from the showroom floor but terrible rally cars unless you heavily modify the suspension and set them up for dirt as the stock set up is way too stiff and low to the ground and you will be bottoming out and scraping your body left right and centre. Perhaps the Mitsubishi old airtreak with the Evo 7 engine and old forester xt would be good minimal mod rally cars but the new ones are way too heavy. This Juke isn't the first duel prepose road/off road rally car, they work very well stock on dirt.
andrew mccluskey, not sure if you are familiar with the FIA WRC rules, but R5 and WRC class are awd cars with 1600cc turbo engines. I bet Nissan had plans to get back into the WRC, because they definitely met the homologation requirement of 2500.
also, they made the car weigh 1223.4 kg and the R5 and WRC classes have a minimum weight of 1200 kg as well. This car of course does not have nearly the power, but you could probably make this a 400-800 hp stage crushing monster
Believe it or not the base FWD Juke is an excellent handling car thingy. The steering is direct. The torquey 1.6 t only has to pullJust under 3000 pounds. With the manual it is quite responsive. The ride is painful and the tires follow road imperfections. I can see how it can be a good platform for a rally car.
Til you factor in the horrible CVT of the AWD. I autocrossed my FWD Nismo RS for 2 years and never found a CVT AWD that could do anywhere near it. The CVT kills all the pleasure of it.
I like it stock.....It is very inexpensive, very little turbo lag. The FWD, live rear and manual pays off in weight savings and responsiveness over 200 pounds lighter than the AWD.
YES. This thing is so cool! I love everything racers. I used to have a car with mates that we entered into every form of motorsports we could. People laughed at us when our car didn't fit the mold, but we were too busy having a laugh to care. Living the dream man!
Lorenzo Clara we finally got the car tuned with the Garrett Turbo upgrade and we made 236whp and 226wt. Nothing done to the engine yet and has been very reliable so far. If you have any other question or wanna check out more current updates on the project you can check or dm me on my instagram and Facebook pages. The links should be in the description of this vid. Thanks for the question stay tuned for more!!
Jimmy Jay this being my first venture in to the nissan world if this has any reflection of the rest of the brand power plant wise I️ have been VERY impressed
Yes, what a neat car. This is probably the best video, Matt likes the car and the Lars Wolfe guy is nice and humble. Thank you for this video, it made my day.
I would love to hear if they ever broke into the can-bus to electronically adjust the power steering on the Juke. I want to override mine to be as stiff as possible without having to be in "Sport" mode.
we are planning on being at Oregon trail rally in April, and Olympus rally in May. with video and stuff so you should get what you want. I will be posting coverage on my social media pages if interested;)
Finding an area in California is a challenge in its self, on top of that if it isn't a closed course it makes it VERY dangerous to test. With that said I have been working hard to get a small run of road on private grounds to test but still... but I'm open to suggestions?
I like the weird One Takes. I skip the supercars. I had low expectations for a Nissan Juke (?!) and stereotypical flat brim bro. I love having my preconceptions overturned! Super cool dude and build - love it! I'll hop over to larswolfe and check it out. Thanks guys! Thanks to Zach for getting his lens dusty.
yeah yeah I get it its big for the 1.6L in this car. for me it needs to be VERY functional not just....Waaaaaaait for it? HOLY BOOST BATMAN! you know what I mean. But ill choose my words more carefully ext time for sure. but thanks for watching!!;)
To the haters, this guy took a car NOBODY mods and didn't just mod it like some lame Prius mod (sorry guy that Matt drove your Prius), this is a legit built car, so cool. How many people have 240s, Supras, etc? This thing is cool as hell, and you guys who don't see it, will one day.
It will be tuned at the end of the month but we are hoping for the 300+/- 20. will be posting the results on my social media pages, if you want check it out! links are below the description, click the more button to see them.

Oh we aren't knocking the 1.6L I'm sure it can be built to be amazing, but having a NA motor with a very linear power band is usually preferred for better control in Rally/Drifting. Also if it fits without much work it's honestly probably easier to swap motors rather than replace pistons, connecting rods, install better cooling etc. Also the VQ35HR sounds awesome when it's uncorked.
BigHeadClan torque the 1.6 is making maybe 50lbs more torque then HP. And that's what you need for rally to get u up and going. A vq is also bigger then a ls1 so why just to keep it Nissan? K
Actually it makes about 170hp/160tq in stock form, where as the VQ35HR is making about 300hp/250tq so in regards to max torque it's still ahead. But in fairness the Juke does make all of that torque at the low end, so an argument could totally be made for that in rally events.
All Nissan Jukes from now on should come in rally spec. Very good way to start the day.
This!
I totally agree with you
lol just get a juke R 2.0 ehheheh
Or that crazy GTR spec
Nope, rally raid style gotta have the long travel suspension
This was not expected
So much win. Taking an ugly duckling and making it bitchin'.

Matt's really a true car guy. Not the typical snobby "German only" car guy you see on here. If it's fun, it's fun. Respect
suilujre 777 German is bunk anyways
if it's not a V8, why get in it?
Ive now seen a good looking Juke. Nice way to start the day.
No juke can be "good looking" its against the law of physics
We don't have the same definition of "good looking"
Uh...
Daniel Perry Motorsports my juke looks great..not good
What a great guest, clearly knows a lot about his car and is totally comfortable in front of the camera.
thanks man!
My ex had a Juke all wheel drive that I drove frequently and I really grew to love that thing. It's like a go kart but you can drive it unlimited off-road situations and in bad weather with confidence. Such neat cars I'm a look at picking one up at some point.
I can't believe I'm saying this, but that is a really cool Juke. They should all be like this.
A Wolfe in sheep's clothing.
mugensamurai juke r
I've been known to be a juker who tells a couple of jukes every now and then. After all who doesn't like a juke?
Should've done an off-road one take like you did with that one kid's Ranger trophy truck,
Always knew the Juke was a secret rally car 😉
andrew mccluskey pretty sure it races among the yaris and other economy cars in asian countries.
Yeah sure you did bud
Tyler Dowd

Awesome car and a super knowledgeable and talkative guest, perfect one take!
Joey Montaina thx Joey!
Lars Wolfe and be even takes time to reply to random UA-cam comments, he does it all! You're welcome bro
OMG! I want to see that juke on dirt so bad!
I like weird cars a lot more than I like expensive car. Interesting build.
Lars confirmed one of the good ones. Great little car, great attitude from the builder.
Thanks MAN!!:)
I saw an article about this on MotoIQ a while back. Dope seeing this come to fruition.
Believe it or not the base FWD Juke is an excellent handling car thingy. The steering is direct. The torquey 1.6 t only has to pullJust under 3000 pounds. With the manual it is quite responsive. fatboy19831 Awd is better. Torque Vectoring, better suspension. In the wet rally all day. In the dry corner carver. Ugly, but quick and fun.
Til you factor in the horrible CVT of the AWD. I autocrossed my FWD Nismo RS for 2 years and never found a CVT AWD that could do anywhere near it. The CVT kills all the pleasure of it.

Nissan/nismo can you make a rally spec one from the factory?
Normally I want to kill all Jukes with fire but this, dare I say, is pretty sweet.
I actually want to be shot into space when I die.
Thanks guys!
Finally! A one take with a car that is truly a multipurpose vehicle!
Pleasantly surprised
Rally cars and there drivers are so underappreciated here in the US
YES. This thing is so cool! I love everything racers. I used to have a car with mates that we entered into every form of motorsports we could. People laughed at us when our car didn't fit the mold, but we were too busy having a laugh to care. Living the dream man!
I don't really know why but I love Jukes. Makes me like them even more because of the hate they get.
Finally, everything I envisioned a juke should be. The very first time I drove one, rally car!
Need to do another One Take when it's converted to AWD. Do it in it's rally environment tho
TheReal NateDogg stay tuned
Lars Wolfe how many hp in this video?stock rods and piston? Still reliable?
Lorenzo Clara we finally got the car tuned with the Garrett Turbo upgrade and we made 236whp and 226wt. Nothing done to the engine yet and has been very reliable so far. If you have any other question or wanna check out more current updates on the project you can check or dm me on my instagram and Facebook pages. The links should be in the description of this vid. I have never seen Matt so excited about a car!
This is SWEET. I never EVER thought I'd think a juke was cool. I want to do something like this with my Forester XT.
DO IT!!!
MR16DDT is a gem of a engine
Can you tell me the difference between the MR16DDT and the HR16DE
Jimmy Jay this being my first venture in to the nissan world if this has any reflection of the rest of the brand power plant wise I️ have been VERY impressed
Tim Johnson turbo’d
Yes, what a neat car. This is probably the best video, Matt likes the car and the Lars Wolfe guy is nice and humble. Thank you for this video, it made my day.
WELCOME!!
Matt should make a one take of every iteration of this car! (mainly rally ready and drift ready)
Finally, a Juke that I can love.
make sure you follow it on the social media then! it helps me SOOOOO much!!
Awesome car and awesome owner. What a cool dude!
Yessssss! I love seeing Jukes get some recognition! Great little cars!
I didn't like the Juke until now... this is cool. love unique builds
This is a really cool solid build, wow :)!
I love builds like these on Jukes!
Was that a Chiron at 3:45?
NO the R8 that was at the shoot too
Cannot imagine being a co-driver. Awesome video
trust me I know a few...they are all f'n crazy!!
I would love to hear if they ever broke into the can-bus to electronically adjust the power steering on the Juke. I want to override mine to be as stiff as possible without having to be in "Sport" mode.
I really want to see this thing when it's done, and on a dirt road in its natural habitat.
we are planning on being at Oregon trail rally in April, and Olympus rally in May. with video and stuff so you should get what you want. I will be posting coverage on my social media pages if interested;)
WOW! Wtf! this thing is awesome! wouldnt have expected this. Good ass video Matt!
Matt what's your opinion on the 06-08 impala SS / Pontiac gxp. Decent cars?
Its hard to believe that the car is only 2700lbs. I had to rewind the video to make sure that i heard it right.
David Ha stock base FWD is 2850. The awd is 100lbs more.
David Ha it's a really small vehicle if you seen one in person.
Is that a Civic Type-R Rear Wing?
I've always loved the juke so it's sick to see a modded one!
Sweet, finally a Juke with a purpose!
Lars' enthusiasm for his creation is awesome. But why no gravel/dirt testing?!
Finding an area in California is a challenge in its self, on top of that if it isn't a closed course it makes it VERY dangerous to test. With that said I have been working hard to get a small run of road on private grounds to test but still... but I'm open to suggestions?

Man this thing is sick. Nice Lars wolfe!
Wheres the Anti-Lag?
The Subaru Experiment WRX GG8 GF6 - Lmao 😂 Exactly 👌👍
Did you watch the vid? its not tuned yet...
Working on launch control and ALS for the car more soon;)
This is sick. Need a car as fun as this
Juke R? Rally?
Great car, awesome philosophy and build. Also, seems like a great guy.
I've always loved the look of the juke, soul, and aztec
right?! LOL
Saw this guy heading down to film this on my way to Buttonwillow. Wondered where it was headed. haha.
Just wanna know what lightbar he has on that.
I wasn't even going to watch this, judging the title, but Wow! Cool car!!
well I thank you for watching and giving it a chance;)
Best one take yet!
WOW?! really? thanks man!!
Damn, what an excellent car to turn into a rally vehicle!
Where do i find that spoiler for my Juke Nismo!?
For the conditions, the gtr swapped juke would have been a better drive, this juke needed a rally stage
Well yeah offroading would be better for the car, but not for the video.
Very sweet build! Cool owner as well!
Was that a Chiron that drove by?
Super cool! I am glad a juke finally made it on a one take!
See if you can bring him on the podcast, I'd love to hear more about what leads a man to build a Juke rally car.
Never thought i'd say this about a Juke but that is sweet!
thanks!
Bro! Are you about to drop a Chiron video?
Not a Joke! :D That was much fun to watch!
Lars is THE MAN!
Why wouldn't you do this one take on a gravel road??
Stay Tuned;)
A GTX2860R is big?
yeah yeah I get it its big for the 1.6L in this car. for me it needs to be VERY functional not just....Waaaaaaait for it? HOLY BOOST BATMAN! you know what I mean. But ill choose my words more carefully ext time for sure. but thanks for watching!!;)
Just being a pedantic ass for the fun of it. I have the same turbo in my Volvo. Awesome little racer btw!
Matt review the 600hp Toyota CHR.
Toyota TRD has said it has set down faster lap times then a NISMO GTR and McLaren super car
while still being FWD.
what size is the wheel and tyre spec?
What a badass owner!
RandyG7 thx!!
I think the Juke nismo and nismo RS are cool
This is one rad mamba jamba. Would love to see an off road one take with it once it's fully sorted.
SOON! stay tuned!!
Omh I thought it was sped up. This is amazing.
I want to see this thing on dirt! :D
andrew mccluskey Oregon Trail Rally in April and Olympus Rally in May. See you there;)
Lars Wolfe
I actually live in Melbourne Australia so can't go and see it unfortunately. Maybe you can get some dash cam footage of it in action :D
andrew mccluskey I️ will def post some videos on my page of those weekends!
Nice vid @ what was the hp rating?
It will be tuned at the end of the month but we are hoping for the 300+/- 20. will be posting the results on my social media pages, if you want check it out! links are below the description, click the more button to see them.
can you please make a Micra juke swap kit!!!!
ok;)
When life gives you a Juke, make a rally car!
I think that should be the saying for every car made;)
This car is a perfect drive for this channel
Cool car (y), hope something can be done about that rev hang
turned a juke into a respectable car... that's a sentence
That looks like an absolute riot! Great use of an otherwise ugly / boring crap box.
That is really cool...
A fine creation is a fine creation, no matter what it started as.
So... it's not AWD? Did I hear that right?
and the WheelWell says RWD... wat?
Yes it started awd cvt... that pos trans is going bownits 2wd and I’m handing a bolt in awd manual sourced from Japan;) more soon! So subscribe
Size/brand
LOL yeah spray painted that on there kinda poking fun at this tire lettering craze happening.....
Very nice setup!
This was bloody awesome !
Is this guy serious? or just jukin..
TheeJoeyLee To me it looks like he's just Jukin around.
These cars are actually cool from the factory, they came awd and turboed back when having a turbo was more special
How much HP?
final tune for this set up will happen at the end of Nov, click the more button under the description of this vid above and you will see my social media links I will be post the results there later this month!! :)
I've always disliked these until I seen this video... Very different. Well done!
thanks!
This car stock is great in AWD my dad has one and I’ve seen him go up crazy Icecslopes no problem outclassing other trucks and suvs
If it's a turbo it has to be a Nismo doesn't it?
nope all jukes are turbo
Swap a vq35hr with the 6 speed, glorious
Probably not they had to make a custom frame for the Juke GT-R proto-type they did a while back, VQ35 motor isn't that much smaller
than the VR38.
Would stupid considering the stock engine is capable and reliable. Not to mention it wouldn't fit.
Oh we aren't knocking the 1.6L I'm sure it can be built to be amazing, but having a NA motor with a very linear power band is usually preferred

That nice 911turbo can't wait for that drive
