  • So, I treated myself to a new home espresso machine, and I'm pretty stoked about it.
Introducing you beautiful people to the Ascaso Steel Duo PID Plus home espresso machine.
THIS IS NOT A REVIEW VIDEO!
Purely a different style of unboxing/first reaction that I felt like creating. I will review this video when I've spent a few more weeks/months with it. So, if you are keen for that, let me know down in the comments.
I want to give a huge shoutout to Incafe here in New Zealand, who are the distributors of Ascaso espresso machines, for hooking me up with the Ascaso Steel Duo PID Plus and for gifting me some goodies to get me set up and running.
To see how the Ascaso Steel DUO PID fits into my daily coffee routine, be sure to come and follow me over on Instagram / thedrummingbarista

She so pretty. I'm picking up the Plus if they are in stock when I come back to the UK in Summer.

So good. Yeah, I wanted to go with the plus but the distributor here in New Zealand were out of stock at the time of buying. When you get it, come back here to the comments and let me know how you get on with it. Cheers, Sean aka The Drumming Barista.

Really nice machine, do you know if she can run with an adaptor for a regular plug ?

      Thank you @JPC326.
This is a great question and I want to give you a tentative yes. I live in New Zealand and so my machine came with our usual standard plug attached out of the box.
For all my American and Canadian friends I've seen them talking about an adapter that they need for it. But when they get said adapter, it all seems to work A_OK out for the box.
      Cheers
      Sean

Yes it can. In the US it comes with one, at 110 V.

I appreciate the work you put into your video...I really do. However I am finding it difficult to find truly objective reviews on the Ascaso. In fact I have only found one. The first two minutes and thirty-five seconds of the video is beautifully stylized and could have been put out by the manufacturer themselves. Then up to the 5:27 time mark you are selling coffee. After a more talking there is only about a minute and a half of demonstrating the machine with no verbal comment. I am glad to see you are not affiliated with the links you provide but the whole video looks like you are. What was the actual reason for posting the video?

Hey @bisem433, Thank you for the comment and for your kind words about my video, filming, and edits. That's very encouraging.
I want to start by saying that I'll have a more in-depth review of the Ascaso Steel Duo PID machine coming over the next few weeks. I've owned the machine for 3 months now, so I have a much better understanding of it and my workflow with it.
I appreciate that this video might have had a strange structure for some, which is why I mentioned in the description that this is not a review video. I also post my content on social media and have started recording my videos in wide format to then splice into vertical formats, effectively killing two birds with one stone.
The main reason behind recording and posting this video was to showcase me unboxing the machine in a different type of organic unboxing video that didn’t scream "sponsored" or "ad" for both UA-cam and social media. I wanted to show my first reaction and my first brew, which is why I clarified in the description that it is not a review video.
The shout-out part in the middle was just to thank the wonderful team at Incafe here in New Zealand (who distribute Ascaso in NZ) for gifting me some coffee to help dial in and season the machine. I then brewed those coffees in separate videos that can be found on UA-cam and Instagram.
So once again, I appreciate your comment and understand the slight frustration over there not being a review of the machine yet. This will be coming over the next few weeks, and I hope you tune back in to watch it as I've got a lot to say about this wonderful home espresso machine.
Out of interest, what particular parts of the machine are you looking at to help you decide if it's worthy of a purchase and a place on your bench at home?
      Cheers,
      Sean

I think it’s pronounced Inca-Fe. Like the Inca people of Peru

Now that makes a whole heap of sense. Thank you for the clarification. 💙💙
