    I've got to say you set yourself an unreasonable challenge, but you were up for it and delivered. I'm sure that level of commitment and discipline will reward you in your more significant life goals, whatever they may be. Kudos.

    Thank you for the mention of Law & Order: Toronto; I'm a huge fan of the franchise, especially SVU, but hadn't heard this as I currently live in northern Mexico. Love your videos, more, please!!

    Wh n I was a student in Vienna I read in a magazine that you could live on mashed potatoes and green salad for a month without ill effects. I liked it fine. Did hav a couple of dates and got treated to a nice dinner, but I was fine. I remembered when I saw you fix broccoli day after day.

    Super, your best work yet! Great animal footage and other scenery. Consider carrying a weapon if you are going to sit or walk in more isolated areas. Just a suggestion. You obviously aren't naive, and know you are a magnet for creeps in those situations. Weigh the risks versus rewards.

    In many parts of the USA you could get buy $2/day for food and you would have a greater variety with apples, bananas, eggs, rice, lentils, carrots, chicken, cheap bread, peanut butter, cheap hot dogs/baloney, tea, coffee, noodles, tomato sauce, etc. If you have no dietary/health restrictions eating basic is not that expensive.
    I can't imagine 21 straight meals of lentils and broccoli. That takes dedication.

      Yea, Albania isn't really known for cheap food - it's about the same as other European countries. The biggest savings I noticed were in housing & cost of labour.

    Interesting video! My girlfriend and I are in Tirana and enjoy how walkable it is, although I’m not sure $20 would be sufficient for us both 😂. Do you plan on spending your duration in Albania there, or any plans to stay in Tirana?

    • @isabellerdgz
      @isabellerdgz  9 місяців тому +1

    Great video and it shows your dedication to finish your goal. How long have you been in Vlore?
    And Is it good for retirement for Americans?

    • @isabellerdgz
      @isabellerdgz  3 місяці тому

      Thanks Alex. I was in Vlorë for 14 weeks. US citizens can stay for a full year without having to apply for anything so that makes Albania an attractive option. Vlorë and Sarande are nice relaxing options by the coast. I’m not American though so I only had 90 days (overstayed a bit)

      Thanks Jonas :)
      I have a large list of cities/countries I'm interested in staying in for extended periods. I pick based on interest, proximity and weather. I stay as long as I can as a tourist which is typically 90 days.
      Just Bible study at the moment. When I'm back in an English/Spanish speaking country I'll be joining a local church.

    Hi as from your comment in an earlier vid I looked at airbnb in Vlore and there was a similar to yours for $200/week. It is similar to yours but you might have dealed with the host for a better price for a longer time? One year rental might get more expensive if it includes the summer or what do you think?

    • @isabellerdgz
      @isabellerdgz  9 місяців тому +1

      Look at monthly prices because airbnb significantly lowers prices for stays longer than 28 days.

      @@isabellerdgz I'm a 70 year old man traveling Albania. I eat a great deal of rice and veggies with sauce because I love it. I cannot eat lentils because they make me nauseas. I have not found Albania to be nearly as inexpensive as I was lead to believe especially where rents are concerned. I love to walk and see things, I rarely spend money unnecessarily. My greatest expenditure is always rent. Any suggestions??
