What and where, would the Digital Nomads of the world, and those who wish to become a DN be without the amazing Kristin's tireless work to spread the word? Gracias Usted!
I think each digital nomad has their own story and the point of it all is that the possibilities right now are absolutely endless. Everyone can be a digital nomad if they want to, and will probably earn more than in 9-5. It's mostly the mindset that stops us
I'm a creative and a business coach and being a digital nomad in Europe would be the next step in my career. Thanks for all the helpful content Kristin!
It’s so interesting the different stories and paths that have brought digital nomads (and future DNs) to where they are now. It makes me feel better that a bunch of the people you interviewed are still aspiring to do it. I guess it just starts with a decision…
I've been researching Madeira for a few months now, and that's how I came across your channel. Portugal is at the top of my list. I've been working online exclusively for over 3 years now, and I moved countries (and continents) quite a bit over the past 10 years; long story! Still looking for a place where I can grow roots and feel I belong to :) I wonder if Madeira could make me fall in love and feel at home.
How special. I just returned from a trip to Madeira and upon return in my hometown i find this video. When I was at Madeira, I thought this be a perfect place for me to be at, for sure in the winter months and am now researching becoming a Digital Nomad. Do love this video Kirstin, It does inspire me. I would really want to apply to win the ticket for the digital nomad fest, to get inspired even more to start living a life of travel.
I’m a tattoo artist and amateur bird/nature photographer. I’m trying to figure out a way to stay on the road so I can keep filming birds. Inspiring video. Thanks for the post. ❤

Oh I love to hear back from people who went thru this process, there are just many ways to achieve this, but it is important to know that everybody has their own timeline!
Within the past couple months I started teaching English online which is one of my passions and hope to actually make it a sustainable career and incorporate other remote work streams of income. I actually have family that live on the island of Madeira and really hope to visit them and see Madera one day.

I’ve always been curious about being a Digital Nomad. I currently live in Los Angeles, things are too expensive. Thanks for this great content Kristin!
Nomad Island Fest could be so good in helping me find and be inspired by this community that I so wish to join. I was just talking with my mom this morning; I feel like my whole life I've been trying to fit a circle peg into a square hole, as I've been trying to "fit in" and be accepted by individuals and micro communities within the various towns and cities I've lived in over the years. I'm almost convinced that I just don't really "fit into" America generally speaking! I've said this for many years and I'm beginning to believe it, that I was born into a society in which I just don't share the same world and cultural view with!!! I'm also not a 9-5'er, and have been making attempts to start my own online coaching business but it's so overwhelming feeling like I'm the loner all the time and people don't understand what I'm trying to do not are they very interested; it's really hard to feel like I can grow when I feel like an alien in the community around me! Going to an event like this and meeting people who are actually doing the thing that I've only dreamt of could be the spark that initiates a whole new and promising future for my life!
Hi Kimberly, thank you for watching and for sharing your thoughts.🙏 A lot of people do feel that way as well, you are not alone 😊 I think it's a great idea if you try and join these events and experience it yourself. Hopefully, you can start shifting to a more location-independent lifestyle! My book can help you take the first steps amzn.to/3JLLx5c
@@YogaBlissDance Thank you for your comment, it helps to remember that I am not alone in this! Now if only we could have more of these conversations and help each other reach our expat goals! It's like I need a think tank of like minded people, a mastermind to meet with every other week!

Being a digital nomad in this day and age is really easy. The possibilities to work from "home" are absolutely endless and everything can be monetized. (I monetized flying FPV drones and making videos from it so if I can - everyone can :D)
@@TravelingwithKristin I guess it's just what we are being taught in schools and early in life. What society thinks and how "scary it is" to lose employment benefits. I once did math with a friend comparing "losing the annual leave" and doing the same thing as a contractor with the same price for the company. He couldn't believe it 😂😅
Is good to know there is a village where digital nomadas con connect and share their experiencies. Definetly going to visit it soon! I love this on my many levels. I love how people are thinking outside the box and living their own journeys. I’d love to hear what people are doing about saving for their retirement and securing their future. What happens if their income stream falls off. And what about having a family and children. Will they continue? Do they see life with a family?
Hmm... might just have to go next December. I love Portugal, it's on my radar, thinking of golden visa, I'll be there in the spring/summer most likely. I've been a part-time digital nomad, teaching university and grad school courses online at crazy hours, doing collaborative research in interesting places. A bit off topic, but there's satisfaction and freedom in making all my necessary possessions, including podcast stuff, fit into a 35L or 40L backpack plus carry-on, then realizing that that can work for a long time.
Great video Kristin! your videos are refreshing, I love to travel and I enjoy hearing about viewpoints of the ex pats you speak to and about what others do for careers that allow them to travel while maintaining careers!
