Never put the bill/s in the drawer until the transaction is done. Lay them across the top of the drawer so you can prove what the customer handed you. Typing the amount that the customer handed you into the til is NOT good enough! You MUST leave them out until the very end when the customer seems satisfied. I can't believe so many supervisors are so stupid as to skip teaching that very important method to their workers! I almost lost a hundred dollars to an idiot that stuffed a few hundred dollars that I wanted to count a second time when another worker there distracted me. When I looked back the money was IN the drawer, NOT on top where it is SUPPOSED TO BE. Luckily the til showed a hundred dollars long and I got it back.
+Brian d You lay the bill on top of the til until you give the proper change out and then you put the bill in the til after the change is given out and you should also count the change back to your customer
And I always say "Out of 20? or out of "50.04?" I had one guy ask for cash back and asked for 40.00 in ones, so I started counting the ones he's like "Seriously, you don't need to count them, I trust you." Yeah, you may trust me, but I need to verify for myself that I did not short or over give you ones.
Bless my cash register operations so that I do not make mistakes in them but actually so that they are successful and benefit both the customers and my employers.
payed this guy $10 or $20 for a dollar priced pizza and looked at him like wut when I got 1$ back and I was like just walking out the door crying cause I thought I was going nuts, so he ran after me and gave my money back. super distressing but at least he was sweet and came after me. this was in high school time so I can't remember if I got free pizza slice or not XD. anywayyyy I'm super thankful for these videos!
Which position, in addition to the manager / supervisor and front-end assistant, is responsible for providing money for change, makes product cancellations, refunds of purchases, returns of registered values by mistake, withdraws money from the cash register to the safe, performs substitutions between cashiers, opening, closing and checking cash registers. When the customer has a question about the price, validity and quality of a product and goes to the sales area to check the correct information? In general it provides assistance to cashiers. What if each supermarket has its treasury and what is the name of the position responsible for this sector?
So sad that someone didn't stick the PLU code on, I had such a bad experience when I worked at the till!! And so bad to work in such a company with bad system!! Bad team spirit!!!
Your edit makes me feel more confident, I'm nervous af cuz I what some may call "a dumb bitch" so even small tasks seem daunting to me 😭 it'll all be ok tho, the minute I think something's off all I gotta do is holler at the manager I guess

+bottmar1 Thank you! I will use this.
Thank you
shouldn't you put the bills in the drawer so it can't be taken? your comment is rather confusing and contradicting

You're never supposed to argue with the customer. Remember, *the* *customer* *is* *always* *right*

If you "try to scan items 98% of the time" does that mean you strive to sell only 2% produce?
We need part 4 , TO AMAZING
at our store in Arlington our registers won't hardly pick up the bar codes leaving our scanning time down by a few seconds.
If item doesn’t scan, write to the scan coordinator
