"Munitions" is easily my favorite - the stakes are high, Ten Cents shines through with his courage, and there's a not-so-subtle message about what can happen if you let power and authority go to your head (lookin' at you, Bluenose). "Ghosts" is the closest thing I have to a least favorite - it's not bad by any stretch of the imagination, but there's just not as much structure compared to some of the other eps.
High Tide and Munitions are definitely at the top of list of favourite TUGS episodes for me. These strike me as the most Thunderbirds-esk. Given that Mitton worked as a special effects technician prior to working on Thomas and TUGS.
You sure were awesome yourself for making sure this video was as awesome as it was. Well worth the wait, says I. I can't say for certain how I can rank all the TUGS episodes personally, but I do have a top 5. No particular order, just ones that stand out the most to me. High Winds: Gotta love an episode that focuses on a bad guy and flesh them out some more. Credit is also given to Hercules being the big brother he is to Ten Cents, raising his voice to get the other Stars to get the Princess Alice under control so that he can ensure his little bros safety. At least that's how I interpret it. The scene itself is an awesome build up to seeing Zebedee put differences aside and help the Stars tow the ocean liner. Which also makes him standing up to Johnny Cuba even more worth it. Up River: I have a soft spot for Billy Shoepack because of his personality, his voice, his theme and his whistle, which seems to stand out from the rest of the characters. So, it was a pleasure to see him again. Puffa getting a more prominent role in this episode is a big score boost for me, as I am a railfan who started thanks to Thomas. I especially like steam locomotives the most. So, the scene where he's trying to outrun the logs, starting with the noise of steam chuffing and his Star Brass 5 chime whistle never fails to give me goosebumps. Ghosts: What else can I say other than the scene with the galleon? It was dripping with the ice cold waters of abject fear and I just plain love it for it. Warrior: Funny episode that pretty much gives us all everything we need to know about the character. To me, this episode is to TUGS what the James Trilogy is to Thomas: a side story that gives insight to an important character we may otherwise take for granted and I grew to appreciate it because of that. High Tide: Of course, it's also thanks to the fact that trains play an important role. I also have a feeling this very episode is what introduced me to TUGS. So, all the more reason to include it. I don't think I could've asked for a better example, what with TUGS answer to Gordon and James getting a spotlight episode and showing growth. With all that said, thanks for sharing this video. It looks like a good way to send off 2023. So, in case nothing else comes, I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Thanks cinders what a way to end the year thanks for making the year a blast look forward to see what happens next year merry Christmas love all u do-henry
My rankings of the episodes are 1 the best episode in my opinion: High tide. 9.8/10 2:Bigg Freeze 9.6/10 3: Up River. 9.5/10 4: Munitions. 9.4 5: Warrior. 9/10 6: High winds. 8.9/10 7: Ghost: 8.8/10 8: Pirate. 8.7/10 9: Reggata 8.7/10 10: Trapped .8.6/10 11: Sunshine . 7.6 12:Jinxed Yea I have the episode unlucky tug came from here it is my opinion .7.5/10 And my least favorite 13: Quarantine. 6.9/10
“Uh what? You crook!” “Oooh, that’s good coming from you Zorran” *OOOOOAAAAAHHH* TUGS has plenty of fertile ground for meme making, you can’t convince me otherwise if you tried
Trapped is my favorite, I have very clear memories of me laughing my ass off when all the Tugs are swept away when the barge explodes along with that stupid music tune😂
Warrior is also my character as well. Also, my list is Quarantine, Sunshine, Trapped, Bigg Freeze, Warrior, Up River, Regatta, Pirate, Jinxed, High Winds, High Tide, Ghosts, and Munitions
Quarantine episode did bring us fact about what was quarantine was like back in 1920s, yellow flag signal to proof they have diseases onboard and warning ships to stay clear since 2020 covid hit as for heatwave season as an Australian bushfires every summer. Trapped when the trapped was stuck it predicted Suez canal incident and some people forgot about this episode existed. Jinxed Not only Boomer there are other ships believed to be jinxed in the past. Munitions from many years of past events that happened when munitions blown up on ship or at docks so much devastation with unexpected critical event and human errors.
Personally, the worst Tugs episode for me is Quarantine, doesn't tell a great story like the other episodes of the show and the Fultan Ferry incident is servicing filler in this story, but is worth mentioning that the earlier plot was part of Top Hat redemption arc as he would help O.J. and save him from scrap, and as second is Warrior is not a bad story but Up River did better the Warrior "is not that smart, but even he can save the day type story". They should have adapted some of those Season 2 scripts in his place.
That’s because that was the first episode to be cut down to 15 minutes and they had zero prep time and also they didn’t record any new material to smooth the gaps
My Least favorite Tugs Episode is Warrior, it’s just stuff that happens in the episode, and Warrior improvs at the end, it’s a really weak plot and I don’t like it. My Favorite is Trapped. I love the little scene where they all go down the water near the ending, and the silly music makes it even better!
@cindersandashesuk5744 ok, so number 1: puffa and little owl have faces. Number 2: The tugs now live in Canada, the uk, Mexico, etc. Number 3: 10 cents, sunshine, and oj live on sodor.
I also have several headcanons for tugs 1. The faces of the tugs are made out of metal 2. Captain Lucky exists 3. Captain star was having a bad day in Quarantine so that is why he was such an ass. 4. Captain Zero does care about his tugs he is just strict and is also temperamental so that is why he says some of the harsh things he says about his crew. 5. Izzy exposed Zorran in sunshine for 2 reasons 1. He felt bad for sunshine 2. All the racial slurs and insults Zorran would call him on a daily basis 6. I like to think the diesel tug being built at luckys is Zilch captain zero new diesel tug from tugs continued 7. Captain Zero used to have 7 tugs but 2 went Rouge and became the Pirates from Pirate. 8. The reason Bruke and Blair want O.J so bad is because their company was on the verge of closing so they had to cut up metal fast so they try again the following year to scrap tugs from bigg city so they sneak in that night and kidnap Zak Big Mac Sunshine and Zug. The next morning the remaining stars and zeds and coast guard meet at the star dock and come up with a plan to get the tugs back they come up with the idea to load some barges with something heavy and ram them into them and the tow lines so they can break down and so the ropes will snap. They carry out there plan at night Blair leaves with Big mac but Top hat and Zilch ram 3 barges into him filled with steel and stone 2 ram into his sten and 1 into his tow rope. Burke runs with Zak but O.J tricks him with an old rusty fuel barge and the scrap tug falls for it and Zebedee leaves some munitions and O.J let's the fuel barge crash into the munitions barge Burke follows it and gets blown up bye sunrise Blair is on the verge of sinking completely And is escorted to Prison bye The coast Gurad Zorran Hercules and Warrior. 9. After that Blair was left to rust in prison and was put on land so he didn't die but during the great depression they put him on community service and patched up his hole but they didn't take care oh him at all 1 day he had enough he went out to the open sea and while the coast guard tried to move him out of the way the duchess ran into him sinking him so Blair did that to commit suicide. 10. After Munitions Blunose was swiftly fired bye the navy arrested and Banned for ever entering bigg city ever again but he came back in ww2 and another munitions fire started but this time Blunose gets the munitions and burning petrol out of there but unlike ten cent he actually dies but he dies a hero that tragedy also lead to big mac being left at luckys for a year and a half 11. O.J full name is Otis Jones like in tugs continued but everyone just calls him bye his first name Otis 12. And Big Mac is named Big Stack 13. Thomas and tugs are in the same universe 14. The tugs of the salvage fleet are 1.Lakesider 2 he is Otis Jones brother 2. Ted a little swither 3. Ames a crane tug 4. Raydar a fire tug 5. Zara a railway tug was trialed to be the zero fleet's number 7. 6. Devin a river tug 7. Lance and steam diesel hybrid 8. Sunshine a small swither he was sold to the star fleet Feburary 26 1920 so there is no longer an official number 8 9. Moonlight. Sunshine little sister 15. Back in 1922 Top hat learned the value of coal when he saved puffa from falling of the dock using a barge filled with coal. 16. I am going to credit master of the lemons of this 1 because I remember this being his story on deviant art. In 1945 Captain star was considering selling Top hat because he was getting tired of his attitude but Tophat saved another tug for death so Captain star kept him. That is all reply if u like my headcanon
God I am shocked by this rating. No offence but Warrior was a boring episode (it was very basic and not much happens) seeing it at the very top of the list is very unusual. Pirate & Munitions are my two favourites - Pirate displays everything that a Tugs episode is about and Munitions is unarguably the best episode when it comes to the special effects on Tugs. Sunshine is a favourite episode of mine though because it plays an important role in the timeline and storytelling of Tugs. I’ve gained much more respect for Munitions since rewatching it recently on a VHS I recently got. Tugs looks its best on the original VHS format (not digitised) provided you get a good copy.
Something weird in warrior is when the stars save Izzy Gomez it say the THREE star tugs which are Big Mac warrior and ten cents top hat doesn’t get any thanks Do you know why
5:27 “If you can name one other kid show with a life or death hostage situation, then I’ll be very impressed.”
Okay then; Batman: the animated series.
Transformers Prime has one in the Season 2 finale.

I will admit this, at 26:46 actually did make me jump. Goodness me, I really was not expecting that. I did get a good laugh out of it afterwards
I think because I had quarantine and jinx on VHS as a kid I watched it a lot and always have great memories with them.
Excellent video matey and I'm happy you were finally able to get round to making it
You sure were awesome yourself for making sure this video was as awesome as it was. Well worth the wait, says I.

My guess is that he couldn't really do much to help the rescue attempt. Still a little odd that he wasn't acknowledged in any way
Ok and I love your content
He did say he couldn’t get in to help Izzy, so he had to use Lord Stinker for assistance
