John 14:21 Whoever has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me. The one who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and reveal Myself to him." You are saved by grace and grace alone, but it doesn't mean that you can do what you will. You still have to follow the commandments.
Wow. All of this..my heart is so glad that you have the true understanding of salvation. I pray that whosoever listens to you will understand as well. Thank you for sharing, you're truly blessed thank God for opening your eyes!!
Thanks for your channel and your work. We live not far from Amish communities in Pennsylvania. There is so much I admire about the Amish I was led to read about them years ago. But I’ve learned more from your videos than from everything I’ve read. As a follower of Jesus I especially like your videos about Amish church life and this video is very revealing. You are preaching the true gospel! Amen! I did not know that the Amish were basing salvation on their good works. Keep up the good work. 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Preach it brother! There is one way to lose your salvation though. If you quit believing, if you lose your faith in Jesus, you will lose your salvation. But you're right, as long as your faith is in Jesus you are saved!
Of course, if one cannot forfeit his salvation, then yes, it is true, you may go ahead and sin without restraint or impunity. I am Amish, and have been intimately acquainted with people of various affiliations over many years- conservative New Order, Old Order Beachy, Andy Weavers, Arthur Illinois, and others- NONE of whom feel that good works have ANY merit to save- they are the normal and necessary result of the New Birth. I know there are some very weak Amish communities, but your experience with the Amish has been very different than mine. God bless you in your spiritual journey.
For me, the thief forgiven on the cross is the best example of non-works salvation since the thief had no way of doing good works or being baptized after Jesus forgave him.
Thank you CJ!! You are right on! We need this message. Another troubling thing is the many who preach the prosperity gospel... I am so thankful I can rest in the knowledge that I am once saved, always saved by God's love and Jesus's blood!!
Thank You. Keep doing what your doing. Despite their intent to shame you you’re doing Gods work and you can take comfort in that when their words get you down. Really helpful and informative video. Saved it to all the playlists I have for my family and friends who I pray come to Jesus x
Amen if you have Jesus Christ in you (The Holy Spirit ) your fruit will show coming from inside to the outside ! You shall know them by their fruit 🙏🏻if you have Jesus in your heart you won’t keep sinning you want to do good because you love him and it will come naturally 🙏🏻

I have watched a few of your Videos and was wondering if Amish Communities are generally of a more Calvinist disposition when it comes to their Soteriology? If yes or no did you adopt or reject any particular Soteriology when you left the Amish.
They are definitely not Calvinistic. They believe their salvation depends on their own personal choices. It took a long time to undo all the false teachings I was taught so I’m still learning all these differing views of scripture but as of right now I would lean towards the reformed theology. However I am open to be convinced otherwise with scripture
@@theamishpotato Personally I am NOT a Calvinist. I think the Bible separates "works" (Doing things in obedience to or in the service of God) from Faith. Without going too far into the weeds, from my understanding faith is, surrender to God, not the activities that one does to justify their faith before their fellow man. Faith/Surrender is by definition passive non action. (Check out Soteriology 101 or Beyond the Fundamentals for a better understanding of my position if you are confused or interested.) The reason I asked was largely because of the history of the sect, going back to Switzerland, and yet the apparent lack of evangelism among the Amish.
@@ericfisher1360 if I’m not mistaken, when they got chased out of Switzerland because of persecution, France opened there lands to the Amish with 1 stipulation, that they don’t proselytize, which they agreed to. My belief is that tradition is still with them today. They say they “evangelize” through their actions and the godly life they live. It’s not very productive as far as gaining new converts.
@@theamishpotato That's what I understood as well. I am just surprised because Ohio ain't in France. It reminds me of the story of the Christmas Ham; One Christmas a mother and daughter were cutting the ends of their Christmas Ham before putting it in the oven. The daughter asks her mother "Why do we cut the ends off before we cook our ham?" The mother says I dont know exactly it's just the way I was taught, you should ask your Ma'maw. So the daughter went to her Ma'maw and asks "why do we cut the ends off our ham before we cook it?" Her Ma'maw says; "I dont have a clue why your momma does it, but my oven was smaller than hers."
Thank you for sharing, it doesn't matter if you're Amish or not your still human. I think the world of the Amish People. I also think the world of the People who were Amish and left.
🙏🙏🙏 Praying that everyone who hears the message of the True and Free gift of Salvation through Jesus Christ is heard and accepted. It's heart breaking knowing that these beautiful people are perishing for the lack of knowledge and being taught wrongly for the sake of tradition and ordinances that are nothing and far from the Life of God and the inheritance of believers. Thank you for sharing the message of the gospel and for your compassion and love of the Father to stand for the Truth and boldness to speak it.
Water baptism can’t be required for salvation. Your words are very encouraging, and I hope people will take them to heart. As for baptism being required to be saved, I say look at Luke 23. Two other men were crucified on Calvary with Jesus in the middle of them. One questioned Jesus saying in Luke 23 verse 39 "...if thou be Christ, save thyself and us." In verse 40-41 we read the response of the other person hanging next to Christ on his own cross. Luke 40-41 "But the other answering rebuked him, saying, dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss." You see this man also condemned to die realized there was something about Jesus. I’m gonna say that again, "there is something about Jesus." That something was seen by that one man hanging next to Jesus when he said in Luke 23 verse 42, "...Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom." That was his confession and recognition that there was ”something special" about Jesus Christ. In Luke 23 verse 43 Jesus replied, "...Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise." Now I don’t know where paradise is, because I’ve not been there, but I’ve been to some very nice places on earth, but this place is paradise! And Jesus said that both he and that person were going to be there. Well that sounds like heaven to me. So I can’t understand how anyone would believe that if this man could go from a cross along side of Jesus Christ to be in Paradise with Jesus Christ, how can anyone ever believe they must be water baptized in order to get to heaven. Everybody knows John 3:16, but I assure you John 3:17 is just as powerful and just as important. John 3:17 “For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” I encourage people to read the entire 3rd chapter of John because the part about Nicodemus is pretty awesome. I hope that if you’re searching for meaning that you will find what you’re looking for in the word, which is the Bible. Jesus said in John chapter 14 verse 6 "I am the way, the truth, and the life, no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." No one. Not me, not you, not the Amish, not the Mennonite. No one. There are a lot of names that people associate with spirituality. There’s Buddha, there’s Gandhi, there’s Confucius, there’s Krishna. There are as many names as people can possibly make up. The truth is there’s only one name by which you can be saved. That name is the name of Jesus Christ. I hear a lot of people say, “how can I know the Bible is true?“ The thing is you have to search your heart, and I believe once you do you’ll realize there is something special about Jesus Christ.
I agree there’s a lot of Amish who have a works based salvation. But we can’t put them all in the same box. I know a lot of Amish who have there faith and salvation in Jesus Christ
The New Order Amish teach salvation by grace through faith. But they focus a lot on works, which keeps you in bondage because you still base so much of your life on your works.
Hi! Did you memorize these verses as a child? Did you have to do verse memorization as a child? I need to make this a daily activity with my 3 children! Sometimes I just don't know where to start, they're pretty young kids 2 years, 4, and 6
I would be interested to know if their theology has always been this way. I know that Jacob Amman was an Anabaptist reformer/leader who broke away from the main body of Anabaptists, I believe over church discipline. But is the belief that you can never really know you are saved and a works based faith system, something that He also believed or was is something which evolved over time as a way to control the members.
Anyone can judge me,but I'll wait for the judge of all judges ,try to do right it does not matter what religion you think is right I believe he walks with me every step I take,
Colossians 2 Paul says He has forgiven us ALL our trespasses. When did Jesus die for our sins? 2000 years ago. Therefore He made atonement for All your sins before you were born. He knew how many, which sins, and how often you would commit them long before you ever existed and yet still died for you! John 5:24 says if we believe in Him and what He did we are no longer under condemnation (no longer going to hell) but have eternal life. Our sins past, present and future are erased in the eyes of God. This does not mean we can go on sinning, and we won’t, because by putting our faith in Christ we are born again, and will begin to hate sin therefore leading a cleaner and cleaner life.
I am willing to minister to the Amish in some ways. However I shudder at the thought of being a pastor😋. Their are others far better equipped for that role😋
@@theamishpotato sure! My father in law held that belief, so I have personal experience...lol. I would always say to him, well, no matter, I don't think YOU can lose your salvation. It always seemed to be directed towards other people and their sins. The idea that I can hold my salvation by my own goodness is impossible. I'm a sinner, and apart from Jesus I would be hopelessly lost. Like you said, how much sin is enough to lose salvation? Those who think you can lose it don't appreciate that their sins are already enough to lose it, if that's what's holding them. Btw, my mom and dad grew up in pennsylvania. They both spoke PA Dutch. Mom was lutheran and dad Mennonite. They were saved in their 20s at 10th presbyterian church in Philly.
Im not sure of all the details but I believe it was kinda the same. Faith in God. Romans 4:3 Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness. In a sense they looked forward to Christ as a savior, while we look back. I need to study more on this but I believe this is what scripture is saying. They are still saved by their faith in God.
Read Luke 17:22-31 Eph 4:8-10 1Peter 3:19 and 1 Peter 4:6. I Think when Jesus was buried he went and preached/ saved the old prophets, before he arose. That’s as near as I can figure it out.
@@rayburkholder3090 I was a christian since I was 10, I am now 64, but I have questions about the bible?? When is Jesus birthday? The exact day and year! When did he die? The day and year! They celebrate his birthday on a pagan ritual Day the winter solstice and they celebrate his death and Resurrection on a nother pagan ritual Day! How do we know what Jesus said when he was going to the cross if all his disciples and Friends left him, who wrote down what he said? Why were the first four books of the New testament written by unknown authors? Needless to say the people at church don't like my questions, how about you?
The Bible says your best is as filthy rags before God. Only by the blood of Christ applied to your life can you be saved. No ONE can work their way to heaven.
How do I begin a relationship with Jesus? A: By now you may have discovered that all roads do not lead to God, and life is not as simple as you once thought. For those who are at this crossroad, the Bible offers a new direction, one filled with purpose, fulfillment, and acceptance. The steps are simple: 1 Recognize that you’re a sinner. Romans 3:23 says, “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Our human instinct is to reject the responsibility of our sinfulness. We try to rationalize it (“I’m not doing anything anyone else hasn’t done”), minimize it (“Hey, it doesn’t affect anyone but me”) or even re-name it (“There were a few errors in judgment on my part”). But God desires us to take responsibility for our sin and turn from it. 2 Believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for you. The Bible tells us that Jesus paid the price “once and for all” for any who would call on Him and turn away from their sin. His death upon the cross was the cost for our sin. In John 14:6 Jesus said, “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Not everybody goes to heaven; only those who place their trust for salvation in Jesus Christ, the Son of God. 3 Repent of your sin. Repent literally means ‘to turn away from.’Acts 3:19 says, “Repent and be converted.”There needs to be a definite change in behavior. This will indicate whether there is a true desire to follow Christ. If we think we are Christians but our behavior is opposite of a biblical lifestyle, we should seriously examine ourselves.God desires us to walk holy and He gives us the ability to do so. 4 Receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Jesus said, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). Come to Jesus just as you are. Trust Him to not only save you, but change your life now.
You got me interested in scripture again. Thank you. Up until @3:45 everything you are saying is directly out of Galatians Chapter 2 where the Jews were telling Gentile converts they had to practice Jewish circumcision, and the whole Law, to be saved. Which if that is true then Christ died for nothing. I am going to have to write about this. For Amish to not claim to be Roman Catholic, yet practice similar principals, they are sinning in my opinion.
Hi. You are part of the plan. God's PLAN. That is why the work you are doing is so very important. I know you feel that too. But as it says there will always be oppression to the good news of the Gospel. I hope that the people who are criticising you- also realize that they are part of that Plan. Willingly or unwillingly. They can never do anything that God will not allow them to do. None of us is good enough. We all indeed deserve everlasting condemnation . But we are saved by Grace alone .From Ontario - Canada.
You explained this so well. I have neighbors that belong to the Apostolic church. They claim they’re not Amish, but I think their beliefs are similar and they are fooling themselves.
No, not really. I am Apostolic and we believe we can know we are saved, whereas the Amish don't believe you can be saved here on earth, that only if you were good enough will you be saved on the day you die. They think following the ordnung and the individual bishops/preachers will get you into heaven. I hope I explained that right Amish Potato 🙂
Would you say that the New Order have a correct view of Salvation? I don't know any Amish New Order or otherwise but according to Lynette Yoder on UA-cam they seem to actually believe the Gospel. What do you think?
If you love Christ you will have works. If you don't have works then you don't love Christ. Works being loving one another, taking care of those who can't take care of themselves, visiting sick and imprisoned ect. Or to say following the example that Jesus set by his life and actions. It does not mean you do those things and you go to heaven, but when Christ is in our hearts those things come because of our changed life.
We are saved by Jesus christ alone . Obedience in love of the Lord . When we except christ as savior his spirit lives in us . We desire to live for christ .
Everyone is Commanded by Yeshua (Jesus) to follow Him Matt. 28:18-20. Repent & Believe. Mark 1:14-15. We need to have the whole counsel of Elohim (God). Not just pick and choose which Scripture we like. Yo good job young man, Be Blessed & above all Enjoy Elohim!

Thank you for this powerful message. I was agreeing out loud with you. I am shedding tears of joy that He is in my heart and my life. Without Him I am nothing. Wish I lived next door to your church so I could attend. I look forward to a video with your pastor. You delivered a wonderful message a true message thank you for addressing the false. Our Lord and Savior.
Praise the Lord for your salvation and ministry. Yes, Jesus changes our hearts so that we want to obey, it's our pleasure to obey. God literally places his desires into us!💞
John 14:21 Whoever has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me. The one who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and reveal Myself to him." You are saved by grace and grace alone, but it doesn't mean that you can do what you will. You still have to follow the commandments.
Love your message CJ. Thank you for having a kind heart as you speak the truth that some may not be quick to accept. Be persistant in your message.
Thanks for loving the Amish people and sharing the Gospel of Grace with them. 🙏🏼
Wow. All of this..my heart is so glad that you have the true understanding of salvation. I pray that whosoever listens to you will understand as well. Thank you for sharing, you're truly blessed thank God for opening your eyes!!
Very well explained indeed. And so important also! 🧡🙏
Keep up the good work! I’m proud of you and your bravery and your heart. It’s all good that you do
Powerful message. Now I have watched to the end, this is a super powerful message!
Bringing the gospel message solid great job
Thanks for your channel and your work. We live not far from Amish communities in Pennsylvania. There is so much I admire about the Amish I was led to read about them years ago. But I’ve learned more from your videos than from everything I’ve read. As a follower of Jesus I especially like your videos about Amish church life and this video is very revealing. You are preaching the true gospel! Amen! I did not know that the Amish were basing salvation on their good works. Keep up the good work. 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Not all Amish base salvation On good works
Preach it brother! There is one way to lose your salvation though. If you quit believing, if you lose your faith in Jesus, you will lose your salvation. But you're right, as long as your faith is in Jesus you are saved!
John 10:28
“And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.”
King James Version (KJV)
You CANNOT lose your salvation. That's a false doctrine.
Yeshua (Jesus) is not a Indian giver, salvation is a gift. Not a loan.
Be Blessed
Enjoy Elohim!
BEST Video. I’ve already watched this, but watched it again‼️‼️. I love when you bring the gospel and the Bible into your messages
Great job explaining the gospel!!
God bless you brother!
Thank You. Keep doing what your doing. Despite their intent to shame you you’re doing Gods work and you can take comfort in that when their words get you down. Really helpful and informative video. Saved it to all the playlists I have for my family and friends who I pray come to Jesus x
God bless you! The Holy Spirit convicts us of our sin. Praise the Lord !!
BLESSINGS!!!!!
I grew up near an Amish community near Arthur Illinois. You are correct. They are wonderful people.
So, you must be sinless.
No One Special no ,you still fall ,but will be convicted and repent ,no ,you are a human being ,we will fail till we are in our new body in the New Heaven and New Earth
Hallelujah!!! Amen Brother!!!
Thanks buddy for sharing the truth. God has certainly set you apart for this unique calling.
Thank you, for sharing with those who believe works might get them to heaven when they leave this world, I always love Romans 10:9, also Acts16:31....God bless!
Goosebumps ... 🙏
I absolutely love your interpretations. If you were a pastor, I would attend your church.
Haha, let’s not get ahead of ourselves here😂. That thought frightens me.
@@theamishpotato I'm not one to force another person, or even tell them what to do, just saying, in my opinion, younwould be a good pastor.
@@ruthhamilton4882Thank you. I never really considered that, however, if that is what the Lord has in store for me then it will be done.
Well done!
(Check out Soteriology 101 or Beyond the Fundamentals for a better understanding of my position if you are confused or interested.)
The reason I asked was largely because of the history of the sect, going back to Switzerland, and yet the apparent lack of evangelism among the Amish.
It reminds me of the story of the Christmas Ham;
One Christmas a mother and daughter were cutting the ends of their Christmas Ham before putting it in the oven. The daughter asks her mother "Why do we cut the ends off before we cook our ham?" The mother says I dont know exactly it's just the way I was taught, you should ask your Ma'maw.
So the daughter went to her Ma'maw and asks "why do we cut the ends off our ham before we cook it?"
Her Ma'maw says; "I dont have a clue why your momma does it, but my oven was smaller than hers."
The ways of Christ is simple, but it is not easy.
Good words❤️❤️
Amen Brother !!!
Thank you for sharing, it doesn't matter if you're Amish or not your still human. I think the world of the Amish People. I also think the world of the People who were Amish and left.
Very clear gospel message!
Just watched your video with Anthony Padilla!! May I ask what your denomination is now? 🤗
Non denominational. I attend a Calvary Chapel
@@theamishpotato thank u for the answer sir! Learned a lot in this video
Water baptism can’t be required for salvation. Your words are very encouraging, and I hope people will take them to heart. As for baptism being required to be saved, I say look at Luke 23. Two other men were crucified on Calvary with Jesus in the middle of them. One questioned Jesus saying in
Luke 23 verse 39 "...if thou be Christ, save thyself and us." In verse 40-41 we read the response of the other person hanging next to Christ on his own cross.
That’s good. I guess I have never met any. It’s hard for me to understand how they can listen to the false teachings if they are saved.
The New Order Amish teach salvation by grace through faith. But they focus a lot on works, which keeps you in bondage because you still base so much of your life on your works.
What are your thoughts on the Bhagavad Gita?
Don’t know what that is
The Bible says you can judge others by their fruit 🍎 the farmers work is not the fruit of his labor
Hi!
Did you memorize these verses as a child? Did you have to do verse memorization as a child?
I need to make this a daily activity with my 3 children! Sometimes I just don't know where to start, they're pretty young kids 2 years, 4, and 6
We didn’t memorize any verses as children. Just start small and go easy. Pictured Bible stories is what we read as kids.
It’s a repenting way. Thank God for His mercy.
Just curious, is the problem actually "the Amish community"/lifestyle or simply certain theological beliefs within the culture?
Well Done...
Salvation is this simple: Believe, on the finished work of Jesus Christ. Salvation is in His blood.
Anyone can judge me,but I'll wait for the judge of all judges ,try to do right it does not matter what religion you think is right I believe he walks with me every step I take,
You can try all you like, but no one is perfect. Only Jesus lived a perfect life.
you said Jesus forgives all future sins, could you give us a bible verse to support that
Colossians 2 Paul says He has forgiven us ALL our trespasses.
Yeshua Hamashiach is coming so soon!
You'd be a great, compassionate and caring pastor. I hope you become one, my friend. Perhaps even ministering to the Amish?
I am willing to minister to the Amish in some ways. However I shudder at the thought of being a pastor😋. Their are others far better equipped for that role😋
Psalm 37 : 29 says : The righteous will possess the earth , and they will live forever on it .
What denomination are you part of now?
Non denomination. Just a Bible believing church. Calvary Chapel Buhl. They live stream every Sunday at 10:00 am MST
Those who believe they can lose salvation, I have found, don't understand the depth of the sin in their lives.
That is a very interesting statement. Never thought of it that way. I would very interested in hearing more if you’re interested in sharing.
That makes so much sense. I never looked at it from that angle
@@theamishpotato If it was up to us to keep our salvation no one would be saved.
He holds all things together.
Can you please explain to me what happens to the people who died before Jesus was alive?
I can see asking God to forgive you but not the church.. People can't forgive a person of one's sin only Christ Jesus.. Amen..
The Bible says your best is as filthy rags before God. Only by the blood of Christ applied to your life can you be saved. No ONE can work their way to heaven.
CJ which Religions do you think are False Religions?
All of them are false. A person should only be a believer in Jesus Christ and study the Bible for himself.
How do I begin a relationship with Jesus?
A: By now you may have discovered that all roads do not lead to God, and life is not as simple as you once thought. For those who are at this crossroad, the Bible offers a new direction, one filled with purpose, fulfillment, and acceptance. The steps are simple:
1 Recognize that you’re a sinner.
This channel is I believe what god has told you to do and I believe that because I have seen the fruit and it is good
1 Corinthians 15;3,4-the gospel;Christ died for my sins,he was buried,he was raised!
Jesus didn't come to the world to condem the world he came to save us
I also had cousins marriage Medd(?) she was very nice too only when we special going then she would their Bonnie. but she was very happy
Everyone is Commanded by Yeshua (Jesus) to follow Him Matt. 28:18-20.
