"The fear of the lord is the beginning of understanding." Make no mistake God being scary is done out of love for you. If he didn't care he wouldn't discipline and warn us. But because he does love us he will do what he has to do to get you to turn to him. If we fear him maybe we'll obey him and that will also save us from ourselves!
I LOVE this channel! I am half English and half Swiss German. I was raised in the "Church of God" and i also remember my dad saying the word "Shunned" as well and the Church of God washing the saints feet like the Amish. Interesting comparisons.
You have been obviously been brought up in an incredible upbringing. Respect for the ones that “ had to shun you”, you and they have beautiful hearts of love, even if it was shunning, love is the greatest, if hate would have been felt, bitterness, that’s the dark!! I feel with most shunning, many need members around more to help guide in the right direction again. Especially in today’s world! I have so much respect in the Amish, I was raised a Christian also, my parents taught us in many ways to love our Lord, church every Sunday, respect, morals, etc. I wish many of in our world would teach to our children... much peace and love to all.
They came to me the first and only time with FOUR men ! LOL !! The church never took the shunning off as far as I know but my family did just on their own !!
In my 60+ years of attending churches, I remember only one time when there was a Biblical discipline done in the church I was a member of. It was conducted in the way outlined in scriptures.
Being a descendant of Amish ancestors (Hochstettler and Stutesman) I was always curious about the ways of the Amish and the reasons for doing certain things. I was always uncomfortable asking any of the local Amish who have moved into my area of Clark County (Most of them from Northern Indiana) out of respect for their privacy, and not knowing them in any setting other than doing business with them in their stores and shops. Your videos have provided much information and answered many of my questions. Thank you!
I just started following you on UA-cam. Your videos are great an very helpful in understanding about the Amish. You are very respectful about the Amish while doing your videos. I will continue following your videos. Thank you for sharing your experience with the Amish. I live in Pennsylvania in Dauphin county, the upper part of it an there are Lancaster County Amish living up here. But I do not live far from Lancaster County an I drive down to Lancaster to just drive around Amish country. It's so peaceful an beautiful. I enjoy seeing them in the fields. I use to work on a dairy farm. But I have always been interested in the Amish from Lancaster an have been learning alot about them. Can't wait to see more of your videos. Again thanks for making them an sharing you views and your experiences.
The Amish are unfortunately very very Pharasaical, or saducaical. It’s great he was polite, but when they aren’t allowed to have bible studies and don’t fully understand the Bible and what Jesus said and did. NONE of this is Biblical, the Amish way. In fact the World tells us when Peter see’s the sheet and the animals that we can be like the world somewhat just not to sin.
@7:00 Much respect! I didn't know they would do that as long as you were still a Christian. That makes me feel better for you. (I'd personally like to hear an Amish sermon because sometimes hearing inter-denominational messages opens the door for The Lord to speak in a way that was not anticipated.)
I understand your fear of your parents’ reaction if they learn about the UA-cam channel, but I have to say, if they understood the heart you are coming from, it might help. We have this problem in our culture of either hyper-romanticizing the Amish way of life - or indulging in scripted, disrespectful programs on TV - and either way, saying to ourselves, “Ahh…that’s how they are.” You do a beautiful job of making them more down to earth and easily understood - particularly for committed Christians. Thank you for opening the door and helping us to understand.
I’ve heard stories of shunning being much more restrictive than your situation but I don’t have actual knowledge so I’m not gonna share something I can’t say for certain is true. I’m glad you are able to interact with your family and loved ones and that there exists that mutual respect between your Amish community and yourself. I’m sure being able able to maintain contact with family is the most important thing for you. Not being able to serve yourself from the food dishes is something you can more easily live with lol. Thanks for sharing your experiences, I’m enjoying listening and learning. Haven’t seen all your videos yet but will definitely get around to them all.
My wife and I come from a old order Amish Church and so we are excommunicated or shunned or whatever you call it and that will never be lifted It is what it is I do not regret it we go to my parents every couple months I talk to my brothers all the time now on my wife’s side her dad was a deacon he died two years ago the best father-in-law I could ever ask for we left in 2006 I believe in your first video you said you were born in 83 I was born in 82 Great video
I have enjoyed your videos. They have clear up the misinformation that TV shows have shown in the past. I remember when I was a teenager I had a pen pal who is Amish. However her family made sure that she and her sisters, brother all finish high school and college. Her shunning was very lite because she became a nurse and along with her doctor husband they work to help care for your Amish area. In fact from what I remember all of her sisters became nurses. Two life in TX married and very happy lives. One of her brothers works in Tech but basically their parents made sure they will have the choices to live their lives better than parents. They are all Christians how more like you. Keep up the great job! God Bless you and your family
My Father in law got caught raking hay with his tractor so he had to confess it before the whole church. but hey atleast he got his hay raked😉 That oath keeps a lot of people in the amish church, the fear factor is extremely high in a lot of amish churches, atleast that was our experience and we still have enough contact with amish people to see it a lot. It's really sad. We got shunned [or excommunicated] as well, very similar to your experience except for the dishing out the food part, wow that's crazy! After a couple years they took it off once they saw we were in good standing with the church we attend and our pastor had to write them a letter as well.
This is why I stand behind my KJV BIBLE. Being set free and being made free are completely different. John 8:32 “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” King James Version (KJV) Set or Made Free? Are You Made Free or Set Free? And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. John 8:32 This verse is often misquoted by substituting set for make: …the truth shall set you free. The English Standard Version translates it this way. On the surface, this doesn’t sound like a big deal. The underlying Greek could be translated set free. So what is the problem? Most old westerns explain it very well. When one of the local bank robbers was put in jail, his fellow gang members would blaze into town, blow up the jail and set him free. Now, he certainly was free from his prison but was he really “free?” No. In the eyes of the law he was still a guilty man and eventually he was usually recaptured to serve his sentence. Now, if there was a man in jail and the sheriff came in with a judge’s order that said he was innocent and should be released; he was made free. He could walk out of jail and no one would ever hunt him down for that crime. The translators of our King James Bible were very aware of that subtle difference. Every time it is translated it indicates that a moral or mortal liability or guilt has been taken away and the recipient is exempt from guilt. Paul knew this when he wrote, For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. Romans 8:2 So, are you set free or made free? The guilty who are running around freely committing sin will ultimately face the Righteous Judge. He will execute proper justice. Christ died to offer everyone the opportunity to have their guilt removed and be made free. Have you been made free? Brother William Gotwals
Thank you for sharing your story and being kind and honest and caring, your parents are proud of you please understand you are doing the right thing having a UA-cam Channel spreading the word of the Lord 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thanks for sharing your testimony. I can’t wait to see that video. The Amish community has always fascinated me. I watched Breaking the Silence . That’s how I found your videos. Praying your ministry is a blessing to the Amish community as well as to Christians . Hope you have a Happy Easter celebrating the resurrection of our Lord and Savior .
You have a humble heart. Confessing to the Bishop is the same as confessing to the Catholic Priest. We can come boldly before the throne and confess our sins he will forgive..
Abe Raber,,,,, I lived in Knox County for 50+ years and left the OOA in 85 and early in 86 they shunned me and they still hold that to this day!!!! It's their problem!
From the videos I've seen so far that you've done, I think you've spoken with love and respect, while being honest about what you disagree with. So far your experience is much like the experience I had with my relatives growing up. You're doing a great job. I've heard others say that Amish aren't saved due to their works based faith, but I don't think agree with that. I think they're just off in their doctrine in that area. They do believe Jesus is the only way to God. I'm enjoying watching your videos, reminds me of home. I listen while I work. It's interesting to hear someone from my area talk about your experience as I compare it to my own. Although you actually were a member and I was never Amish since mom and dad left when they got married. I just spent a lot of time with my Amish relatives growing up, mostly mom's side. If I remember right, when they got shunned by dad's side, they had to eat at a separate table at family gatherings during the shunning time period. Mom's side didn't shun at all. Mom's side marches to the beat of their own drum tho, not really typical Amish anyway.
Thankyou for speaking truth! I agree 100%. Now how do we explain this to family without causing an argument like I always seem to do? I’m desperate to speak truth to them
When Christ comes back to take his church home it won't matter which church you go. It's what's in your heart & the relationship you have with the lord. The 'bon' gets used as a tool not for the right reason. I actually had to laugh when you said they dished out for you☺ In ohio they don't do that as much. They put someone in the bon but then don't really use it. That's the old order. The more conservative do tho!!
@@fredamiller3482 oh my goodness, in my ignorance I thought shunning was in the "barn" ..... I was thinking that's going to be very confusing for everyone. I'm laughing at my ignorance. Now I know it's "bon" what does that mean please ????
@@heatherclayton-callaghan4270 'bon' is the Dutch word for shun, I guess. If you leave the amish they won't eat with you or take money or anything from you till they take it off. Some of the lower sects of amish never take it off. Sad!! I know it must seem rather confusing to you. We all have a goal to be in heaven one day doesn't matter if your amish or not there is just 1 God!!
It’s obvious you love your family, and it’s obvious you love God most of all. Let Him use your platform on UA-cam for your good & His glory. He will never forsake you. 💜
Amish Mennonite here. I was shunned. I could NOT set at the same table with the rest to eat. I was actually made to sit alone in another room. Once the meal was over I could return to visit.
I miss my friend! she's a good person her name is Barbara I hope she watches your channel. She worked at Kraftmaid I hope she's ok I don't know if she's still in Ohio. She was shunned, what a good person very kind- hearted and wonderful personality.
I don't know you personally, but your videos show a man who is humble, calm and respectful. Qualities far too lacking in today's day and age. It's important that we in the body of Christ remain humble, calm and respectful of other Christians with differing views or interpretations of the scriptures. Paul teaches that in Romans 14. You are showing us how that is done. Stay strong in the Lord my brother.
Delighted to hear u left Amish, for Christ..not for sin. God Bless u, Bro. What is the bon ? Never understood that, I grew up in old order stauffer mennonite beliefs. Did u ever hear of bro William Branham, scriptural msngr.
Pretty dead on,me and my husband got shunned for a year and half too and also one of my brothers got married through that time and they dished out for us too and we also couldn't touch the
@@wilmamast8198lol..error correction..error..correction..lol..thank you...happened to me all the time with comments especially when auto corrections make my comment wrong
I love your faith perspective versus Amish faith! I always thought the Amish were more Baptist-like (Anabaptist I think where they come from) who focus on plainess, work, and forsaking outside influences. I never knew they basically believe non-Amish are condemned. I always thought there was a basic faith in Jesus united us as brothers and sisters in Christ. Thank you for clearing that all up, and being so open with your life. I'm also so glad you didn't give up your relationship with your family...I think that speaks a strong witness with where your faith walk is! Incidentally, you had some really heavy metal playing at the end of your video. You might like Stryper's music....just came out with a new release called "The Last Battle". They are a Christian metal band (also have softer ballads), and proclaim Jesus while making those guitars wail! Anyhow, peace to your home!
I’m not very good with my words sometimes ...but I thought this was interesting.: When I watch this video I was doing a Bible study and it talked about following Jesus Christ. Mark 8:34 if anyone wants to be my follower he must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me”. To “take up his cross“ implies a willingness to bear any cost - even to give up one’s life end in order to follow Christ as his example. In a sense, you , in order to spread the word of God are willing to risk having your parents be upset. I don’t know if this makes sense it’s just interesting how God works to bring about a point.
I believe you did a good job explaining Amish shun vs Christian shun. To say you violate our rules (which many sound to be means laws, not Gods) or think differently is a shunnable offense ks wrong. To violate God and/or His commands we are not to "socialize" in the sinful ways such as drunkenness, immorality, idolatry, ie. We are not called to publically humiliate said brother/sister but to live our faith in ways that reflect our beliefs. It is easy to be caught up in lifestyles or activities when we become too close, I did this. I befriended a Christian sister and ultimately the friendship dissolved...my reason for doing so was that I'd seen the negative effect on my faith, marriage and family which was my own doing, blindly or not. I had shared in her twist on faith and while I initially attempted to show her my ideals of marriage and family as I understood based upon scripture but instead the evil won out. I am thankful my husband saw this and stood firm in our marriage even while I was turned away from him and selfishly imposing these false ideals upon my promise to honor him and put God first and foremost.
I get a kick out of the expression “English” or “English churches”. I’m perhaps / maybe 2% English 😳 and about three quarters Romanian , Norwegian , and German. 😵💫🎉. There is some French and Italian in there somewhere too. 😳 I’m a mongrel. Not very English 🙂
If your parents are hurt by your videos please show them this one.... If they will allow you to... The fact that you honor and respect the church leaders in the Amish and that you say nothing negative about them and you tell of their character that they are good men that shows that you must have had amazing parents because your character is very very good and strong... I'm so thankful that you didn't come from a community where you could never fellowship with your family again because I believe the story about the young man that was dying of cancer and his parents wouldn't come... Religion has such a strong hold on some people that I have heard of Muslims murdering their own children because they converted to another way of serving God or they have become believers that Jesus is the Messiah... So I pray that your parents will see the person that you are is a reflection of them and the kind of training they must have given you... I truly do admire your respect for your family and your culture. 🙏
One of the channels I watch on UA-cam is the White Cottage Company. From what I understand her family left the Amish church. She has said this in the past but has never elaborated on that personal experience. But Mary has a Classic car that she loves to drive. Her father also has a Classic car or two that they get out on the holidays. She has also taken us along to help decorate for a special event where she goes to church. There are also times where you hear them speaking Pennsylvania Dutch. Mary has such a kind, sweet spirit who uses her power tools all day long! I just love her. Maybe give her a look.
just found your channel. Did you marry an amish or non amish wife? What religion are you now? Christian but what denomination? do you follow any Amish beliefs? You do not sound Amish, usually have the german/swiss /dutch accent. So many questions.
I’m planning on getting more vids out on these questions sometime. But in short; my wife was never Amish, we attend a Calvary Chapel in Idaho. The only Amish beliefs we follow are the biblical ones. We try to keep some of the simple traditions. And thankfully I have been around English people enough to lose most of that accent although I still don’t have the vocabulary of most normal people. Living so far away from an Amish community, I am losing my Pennsylvania Dutch
It's better to be locked in the barn... Than chained to a floor in a border town jail cell...in Texas. Shunning in any family setting is tough. I'm permanently shunned and it still hurts. That was 30 years ago. And our family came from Arthur Illinois area. And part of Brimfield. The family and the church is gone. There's no one left out of that group. Its gone. And all the farm land was assumed by the County. The main area we were from was from outside of Pekin... I found some old paperwork from the county that did a census on us...that let me know where we were from. Dutch...and they went modern and got drafted in the war and became sinners. I'm descended from those sinners. And the family is dead or scattered and dysfunctional.
Have you ever watched the UA-cam channel Montana Haven? Joas and Priscilla Miller are former Amish who live in Libby, Montana. Priscilla came from Swiss Amish In Berne Indiana. Priscilla's parents did live in Idaho for a time. Their parents migrated west and Joa's father started a now very successful log cabin business. They dress English and yet say they are still Amish--that their church was progressive and slowly changed. They were never shunned as it was a slow progression by the community to cars., etc. They keep their Amish values and their children go to a parochial Amish-style school. They have five children and two of the older twin boys just graduated from the eighth grade and will now join the family business. They are Christians now.
Yes. I think they have a very good thing going. The biblical truth and the good Amish qualities! Can’t beat it. However, I doubt any old order Amish would consider them Amish anymore unfortunately
Your channel (this video) was part of the algorithm and was in my reccomend. Not sure how because it is very unique and to be honest I never watched or spoke of anything to do with the Amish community. I am glad it did though because I have been going to Bird in Hand PA my entire life and have enjoyed an relationship with members of the Amish community there. I was always under the impression that being shunned was permanent and they no longer could speak to the shunned; however I never thought to ask since I thought I already knew!! So you are clearly in a older room with dated old panels on the wall, dark, but with a camera and answer comments. Do you live as Amish now? Are you Mennonite?
There was unofficial shunning; not part of any church teaching; in the conservative Catholic church I was in. I was part of a homeschooling group there in a small town. They wouldn't tell you why you were being shunned they just acted like I didn't exist. They would do a bunch of mean things like say Hi and when you said Hi back they would pretend to not hear you or see you and talk to another person behind you. They did so many different mean things I could fill a book with it. It was a control technique. The enemy wants everyone to be under the control of a handler, whose under a handler, etc. What starts off Christian ends up demonic.
You say, Amish have a work based salvation dogma (for lack of a better word). I have heard you say that several times. Could you please, do a video about this ? I know it is not biblical, Ephesians 2:8-9. But am curious as to what they believe in this regard, why tey do believe so, and how they connect that to Ephesians.
The Amish mafia contacted you that's so funny 😆 when we left went to the neighbor to buy oil he wanted to give it to me needless to say I got oil somewhere else it's funny
My theory is that basically two guys with lush beards and big muscles grabbed you extremely hard with a third skinny guy who lifted your legs up for quickness, and one of them was twisting your neck incredibly hard to the point where you could not scream before they chloroformed you for silence to get in the back of the carriage. You basically got snagged, and they tossed you in the barn, shunning consisted of daily trips to the strapped chair where a little rag with water waited did it not, DID IT NOT!? Did it? That must take lots of love and dedication in a world where people, including many children will never know what a true community and family is like. Thank you for sharing these.
I have friends who like to get drunk, but they know that if I'm there, they don't drink. If they are going to start drinking they'll tell me and I just leave. We have respect for each other and our respective beliefs. We go motorbiking, visit, and hang out. We just do it without drinking. If they drink, they hang out with their other friends who drink. I try to follow Jesus' example. He would eat and talk to "sinners" (Mark 2:13-17)
Pixie is soooo cute! I pray for all of the Amish, they are lovely people! So many need the basic salvation message. Eternal life through the blood of Christ is the only answer!
We aren’t allowed to think/judge with our own rules. The Father and his son has the rules on righteous judgement and that’s Genesis-Deuteronomy and Matthew-John.
(At the end) If they believe that Jesus is Messiah, Son of the Living God, born of Virgin Mary, was crucified and rose on the third day as a sacrifice once and for all for sin... Well they are saved too they just also have to be cleansed of the false witness notion that their works can save them. Like you mentioned in an other video - the works are evidence of a Christians salvation, not the cause of it. Even the "work of realizing their works cant save them" can't save them. Grace is still grace even when we think we can help God. I've been there because I really wanted to do what was right, but I kept doing everything wrong.
Thanks for explaining this. I'm glad you still have contact with your family! I pray that you will be able to continue! By the way, your cat will never mature! 😄 🤣 😂 She's probably still young but she needs to play to burn off energy. Check out Jackson Galaxy you tube channel for help with her.
Please read, Diary: Divine Mercy in my Soul by Maria Faustia Kowalska… you have to pray for your family and trust in Gods Mercy. They will be in heaven with you. Pray and TRUST
@@theamishpotato Ok well i was the Ex JW in the video. Our reply wasnt about your personal experience as such. But more about victims of shunning being made to feel they deserved it. No-one deserves to be shunned for leaving a religion. And victims need to know they are not to blame. And everyone heals on different levels at different speeds, no victim should be told when they should get over it by another person. As for praying for me, please dont, thanks, im not looking for Jesus, he did nothing for me in my former life, nor this one. If he truly died for our sins there wouldnt be punishments for "sins", or the need to repent, we'd be covered.
@@JudgeMeUnforgiven oh, hi, hope all is well. We are covered, if we simply trust in Him. As stated in the vid, I do not agree with shunning because it is not biblical and is misused. However, the Bible does require believers to keep each other in check so no one continues sinning openly and freely. The God you were taught as a kid is a false God. The Bible is the One an only true God speaking to us. But each of us needs to read it for ourselves. It is when someone else tells us what the Bible says, that false religions are formed. I don’t remember telling anyone to get over it although some may have heard it that way. I understand healing is a different process for everyone and encourage anyone to seek it instead of staying in the hell they were put through.
@@theamishpotato Were not covered tho if we’re still punished for the imperfection god imposed on us. I know I was taught about a false god, which was the god of the bible. You presume I’ve not looked at the bible for myself since? Cus I have. God is man made, written about in a man made book. It’s all “false religion”. The whole thing is sadistic. God made us sinners, then tell us death is the result, then he sacrifices his son, for three days, says that absolves sin, but we’re still gonna die if we sin, and don’t beg for repentance for sinning, as the sinning humans HE made us.
I was more or less "shunned" by the Pentecostal church I was a member of for over 20 yrs and it really hurt, especially bc it was over a lot of he said, she said stuff and I wasn't given a chance to say much as I was being yelled at by the pastor and his wife. Jokes on them though, bc a week later I was already accepted as a member of another Apostolic Church and have been happier there in a little over three yrs than I had been in along time at the other church. I have since made peace with the other leadership and have visited the church, but will never go back as a member.
It’s confusing that they cannot accept anything from people that are shunned yet they can do business with and accept money from “the English”. This makes it seem more of a punishment than correction.
I’m curious. When you say some things such as sexual impropriety merit shunning, do you include same-sex relationships? My concern is that sometimes people disagree with a church’s precepts and split off believing they themselves have the right answer. I think we need to be more humble. Just something I wonder about. Thanks!
I don’t think I said anything merits shunning. I don’t agree with shunning at all. What I was saying is we believers have to keep each other in check and the Bible tells us how to do it. We should always follow scripture and not mans ideas.
When you say, "put them in the barn" as part of being shunned, are you literally talking about someone being put into a barn or are you using this metaphorically?
Thank you so much for being an example of respect and love even though you don't agree with the Amish. That is one key that is so often missing
The amish control people with fear. I think that love should be talked about more.
I absolutely agree!! They are wrong

Make no mistake God being scary is done out of love for you. If he didn't care he wouldn't discipline and warn us. But because he does love us he will do what he has to do to get you to turn to him.
If we fear him maybe we'll obey him and that will also save us from ourselves!

My Father in law got caught raking hay with his tractor so he had to confess it before the whole church. but hey atleast he got his hay raked😉
That oath keeps a lot of people in the amish church, the fear factor is extremely high in a lot of amish churches, atleast that was our experience and we still have enough contact with amish people to see it a lot. It's really sad.
We got shunned [or excommunicated] as well, very similar to your experience except for the dishing out the food part, wow that's crazy! After a couple years they took it off once they saw we were in good standing with the church we attend and our pastor had to write them a letter as well.
The Word says that the Truth will set you free, so you sharing the Truth is fine.
This is why I stand behind my KJV BIBLE. Being set free and being made free are completely different. John 8:32
“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
King James Version (KJV) Set or Made Free?
Are You Made Free or Set Free?
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. John 8:32
This verse is often misquoted by substituting set for make: …the truth shall set you free.
Romans 8:2
So, are you set free or made free?
Aren't the Amish also Christian?
You have a humble heart. Confessing to the Bishop is the same as confessing to the Catholic Priest. We can come boldly before the throne and confess our sins he will forgive..
In Holmes County Ohio shunning is nonexistent, they talk about it when you leave but no one ever enforces it
Abe Raber,,,,, I lived in Knox County for 50+ years and left the OOA in 85 and early in 86 they shunned me and they still hold that to this day!!!! It's their problem!
Are you referring to Know, County as of Mt.Veron, Ohio
I’m desperate to speak truth to them
Haha, now that is a big question! When you find the answer to that let me know. Through prayer and asking them questions they can’t answer?
When Christ comes back to take his church home it won't matter which church you go. It's what's in your heart & the relationship you have with the lord. The 'bon' gets used as a tool not for the right reason. I actually had to laugh when you said they dished out for you☺ In ohio they don't do that as much. They put someone in the bon but then don't really use it. That's the old order. The more conservative do tho!!
And old X Amish guy told me one time you have to live it you cannot tell them living it is proof

Amish Mennonite here. I was shunned. I could NOT set at the same table with the rest to eat. I was actually made to sit alone in another room. Once the meal was over I could return to visit.
Sad and intolerable I hope you left and never looked back
I would have been packing my suitcase in another room.
the guy on his death bed who couldnt see his parents thats how i assumed all amish shunning went
I love the humble spirit you have.
Has any of your brothers and sisters left the Amish faith?

My kitty eats cardboard too..oh my goodness kitty chewing again. Mine constantly chewing .so annoying ..

Well said!!
Yep. You nailed.
Dude that organization is truly nuts.
I've read that when shunned you have to sit at a completely different table, in some districts.
I do believe that is true.
ive heard that also
I learnt so much I have a better understanding of your past community of the Amish world.
Hopefully your videos may help any other Amish who are confused, and have questions.

It's kitty kitty!! So cute and adorable!! I love it!! "Meow!" Hehehe!!!

New to your channel...Is shunning and excommunicated the same ? If not, what's the difference. Love the cat 🤣 !

Yes I do have a video coming out on that.
In the south, in some churches, the term used to remove a problem person is
' Churched '. He was Churched for that.
The Amish mafia contacted you that's so funny 😆 when we left went to the neighbor to buy oil he wanted to give it to me needless to say I got oil somewhere else it's funny
I love your cat🥰❤️😍
What is the difference between a Bishop a preacher and a Minister?
Did you share the video yet that you mentioned in this video? The one that will take a bit of editing?
Not yet. its still coming
Bitter apple will help with the chewing
I have friends who like to get drunk, but they know that if I'm there, they don't drink. If they are going to start drinking they'll tell me and I just leave. We have respect for each other and our respective beliefs. We go motorbiking, visit, and hang out. We just do it without drinking. If they drink, they hang out with their other friends who drink. I try to follow Jesus' example. He would eat and talk to "sinners" (Mark 2:13-17)
Very interesting ,,personally i would of never left
Thanks for speaking the truth
She is adorable....
She's probably still young but she needs to play to burn off energy. Check out Jackson Galaxy you tube channel for help with her.

Wheres your rebuttal gone?
I took it down. It didn’t portray the message I was intending to share very well. A new video got posted today
I have since made peace with the other leadership and have visited the church, but will never go back as a member.
what a bunch of pointless crazy rules. thank God you left!!
Interesting video thank you 👍
It’s confusing that they cannot accept anything from people that are shunned yet they can do business with and accept money from “the English”. This makes it seem more of a punishment than correction.
A lot of times shunning are pharisaical reasons. Men's rules do not supersede God's Word! Matt. 18 is the true plan of correcting a brother/sister.
If you don't mind me asking, what group/sect of Amish did you belong to?
It was the Old Order Amish church in Shipshewana/Topeka/Goshen area.
When you say, "put them in the barn" as part of being shunned, are you literally talking about someone being put into a barn or are you using this metaphorically?
its called the "ban". Not an actual barn.
We should follows the directives of God's Word, not man made rules!
