When Bach mentioned the band is being offered an opening slot with a major band" that band was Kiss when they were planning their reunion tour in 1996. The decision to not take that opening slot put the tension over the top between Back and Bolan specifically.
The fulcrum of negotiation leverage was already moving. Sometimes it's the things that you don't do is what can keep it in place...and that's 💕 love.
Damn, I never knew that. So Bolan didn't want to do it? Hmm
No the band didn't want to do it at that time. They had no problem opening up for Kiss, heck they did just that four years later. They had just gotten off a long tour and were burnt out and tired and wanted to spend some time with their families and Bach without consulting with the band first books a Kiss opening slot gig. They politely declined, but opened for them four years later. Sebastian tells the story differently then the rest of the band. So that story isn't true, but the tired and burnt out one is.

Saw you with Guns & Roses in Hampton Coliseum the same day "Slave to the Grind"went to #1 on soundscan. Both bands were awesome except when Axl was bitching how hard it was to be a rock star on stage. Otherwise good times man!

They didn't wan't to tour with Bach anymore. It had nothing to do with opening for KISS, because they did that four years later, they were just done with Bach. Doing the KISS tour then wouldn't have mattered because the band had already been falling apart since before Subhuman Race. They only nade that album because they were still under contract.
