My first crowd surfing experience was at a WZ show in Denver. As I was lifted over the barrier and on to the floor, I was within 3-4 feet of Sean on stage and I got a big smile from her. I was instantly in love.
We were just watching an old VHS of this Video Music Award show a few months back, and it was like all four of them were listening to an in-ear track that started at a different time.
Here's a quick rundown of how the comments go. She's great on the bass! He can hardly breathe! Awesome bassline! Jeez he's outta breath! She's a bass goddess! He....
My first show on the road as a musician was a gigantic reality kick in the face when it came to realizing how much hard work had to be done by me in order to be in shape to play a bigger stage,run/jump/dance around and do backing vocals...let alone take lead vocals.
Absolutely!! I used to be very active while singing regularly but I cannot do that anymore. It’s no joke. I’d have to start a workout program to get ready for a big show now. It’s just not a skill you keep unless you do it frequently.
When it comes to Rob it’s really not that rare. He’s always sucked ass live and needed a lot of studio help to sound good. Pretty much every live show with him shows the instruments outperforming the vocalist
That's just a standard WZ performance. Rob's cool on record and his aesthetic and artwork was awesome, but he was always terrible live. Great fucking band though.
This is a very generous edit… anyone who watched the broadcast will remember that the synth backing track was playing along… loudly… at the original tempo… which is considerably faster than the tempo the band is playing at. It was an absolute fucking trainwreck.

Saw them when they opened for Pantera in 94. Took the White Zombie stage 30 minutes to set up to play a 45 minute set. A very mediocre set at that. Rob isn’t great live. One person worse is Manson. That was 45 minutes of him basically screaming.
Jay never played any of his solos live, I was at the Pantera shows too, and for the astrocreep tour it sounded perfect all of a sudden, they totally milli vanilli'd that. I was surprised to see them not do it here
Rob Zombie has always had way better stage presence and imagery than vocals live. Can't beat the energy of the band as a whole though... freakin' awesome. Love Sean Yseult's green hair, she is rockin' it hard!
I saw them open for Ozzy in Toronto, Ont 08 Rob out on an excellent show and his singing was really good they played al the hits Rob even walked around the whole arena floor Ozzy total disapointment.
@@daviddoyle8956 honestly, I personally see nothing special about Ozzy, but that's me. Saw Ozzy at the Maple Leaf's Gardens in 84. It was a good show, but I'll take Zombie any day.
Rob has gotten *much* better over time. His endurance is world class now. I think we went vegan and got super into aerobic fitness. Dead serious. Look up recent live performances.
I remember seeing zombie opening for pantera. They had this graveyard stage set. When the intro started there were 3 coffins buried in dirt center stage. Than rob, sean & jay opened & crawled out of the coffins. They had dirt rolling off of them. When the music started & sean started head banging dust just started rolling everywhere. I've seen a lot of concerts over the years. That is by far the coolest intro I've ever seen. If you were lucky enough to see them with the graveyard stage set you know what I'm talking about. You cant explain it, yoy had to see it for yourself.
How was their sound? I ask because it seems every live performance I see, Rob completely fuckin blows it. I love White Zombie but goddam Rob sucks ass live..
Saw the same tour with Pantera. Rob had backing vocal tracks. Only time I ever saw that at a rock show. Zombie sucked but Pantera played the best show I’ve ever seen.
Yeah, honestly I can NOT/NEVER stand ANY Rob Zombie related music 😒 But I definitely agree, Sean was a BADazz along with Tempesta on drums. Just going to show that Zombie had some of the BEST mainstream METAL musicians (for the timing) and he wouldn't be shyt without em. ALWAYS blew me away..It obviously PAID well.... LOL
I saw them in 1996 in Houston. They opened for Pantera at the Summit. They played the most mesmerizing show I've ever seen. 15,000 people tranced out watching them.
Saw that tour at Riverport. St. Louis. Took a 2.5 hour drive to get there. Dropped a sunshine and one of my buddys prescription lithium pills. 2.5 hours later and I never took one drink off my quart of Old Milwaukee. Man I was fried. Felt like a 10 minute drive.
I saw Rob play this like 6 years ago. He moved around a bit to jam out but not nearly as much as this. It sounded awesome af. He eventually figured it out.
@@steveh7508 Probably because Rob started exercising and getting on a cardio regimen. That, and he doesn't run around as much. In all his early performances he can't catch his breath after running around so much on stage. He shouldn't sound gassed after 60 seconds.
Now I hear what’s missing (in addition to Rob’s breath). In the studio version, that synth part at the beginning plays throughout the verses. But for this live version, they either took it out because it was too hard to keep time with, or it got completely drowned out in the mix. And that leaves the mostly-one-note bass line to carry the verses. I remember looking forward to this performance as a 14 year-old, because White Zombie were pretty much the only metal band MTV would play during the daytime. For what it’s worth, I saw them live twice back in the day, and they were awesome both times.
@@MrParkerman6 there are foot pedals that can play samples, and their stage crew could also have set it up to play at a certain time, so they certainly COULD have used if, just like they got it to play during the intro. But if they tried that during the verse, they’d have probably fallen off time. It’s the pratfalls of having an extra sound come in and out throughout the song.
It turns out that White Zombie WAS able to include that synth part during the verses when they played live (and that Rob was able to forget the lyrics): ua-cam.com/video/JWM3BGQAKgQ/v-deo.html So during this MTV performance, the synth either got completely drowned out in the mix, or there was some other equipment issue. Or maybe someone forgot to bring something … like an invisible keyboardist (it happens to the best of us) 😎
I remember watching this air live and they had the synth part in the mix, the band got out of sync with it, and the whole thing sounded like a hot mess. Bad enough that I called friends after to make sure I heard it correctly. "Dude, was it me it did Zombie sound awful?" I think any future airings had things edited to take the out-of-sync backing track removed. And RZ being winded of course. I saw them once on the LA Sexorcisto tour (a young Pantera opened!) and it's still one of the best live shows I've ever seen.
I watched it live as stoked as you but I was 26! I haven't seen this vid since. In the first five seconds I was like - oh yeah this is when Rob ran around like an idiot and ruined all my hopes for White Zombie. La Sexorista / Devil Music Volume 1 is still a top 1o album for me.

Yea No Phones existed here… good times
Zombie is still the best live performance ive ever seen, dudes a genius when it comes to stage shows
I'll take a raw, imperfect live performance any day over miming to a pre-recorded track. This is an absolute banger!
DAMN RIGHT!!!!
I agree. It never gets old, I'm over 65 now. It's all good.
Ironic you say that here.
@@Mark-qv4bnhell yeah👍
bruh he is complete garbage here can't even breathe...the music is good but rob is trash
He....
Exactly.....funny ....
Thanks for saving me time! 😂
Thank you
I mean, you just basically summarized the video too.
you also jumped on the "he has asthma" bandwagon? how original of you.. ha... ha... funny guy! 😐
Miss White Zombie! Song still kicks ass ❤️🤘🍻🎤🎸🪕🥁
This is a rare chance to see the instruments outperform the vocalist. Seriously, this is crazy good playing.
Rob's old band was on fire, he probably knew he was the weakest link...
When it comes to Rob it’s really not that rare. He’s always sucked ass live and needed a lot of studio help to sound good. Pretty much every live show with him shows the instruments outperforming the vocalist
Unfortunately pretty much standard issue whenever Rob performs live
That's just a standard WZ performance. Rob's cool on record and his aesthetic and artwork was awesome, but he was always terrible live.
Great fucking band though.
Let's see, what's Rob Zombie doing?
What's the rest of White Zombie doing
Thought so.
This is a very generous edit… anyone who watched the broadcast will remember that the synth backing track was playing along… loudly… at the original tempo… which is considerably faster than the tempo the band is playing at. It was an absolute fucking trainwreck.
This was White Zombie. I saw them a year earlier with Pantera and Ozzy. Sean killed the bass
Now that is an epic line up!
I love that bass woman
This is such an extraordinary musical composition, and to hear it played by such talented musicians is a real treat for the ears.
Ha ha. Really
You need to listen to a LOT more rock/progressive/metal music if you consider this "such talent."
@jaredts3785 are you on the spectrum or something? Learn how to detect sarcasm dude.
@@Coover90210 "aRe YoU oN tHe SpEcTrUm!?" No more than you are as someone getting butthurt with such a knee-jerk, ad hominem response. There are people that seriously believe nu-metal is skilled. You see, internet sarcasm is typically displayed with what I just did, or extended ellipses: "....."

Rob does well in recordings, not live!
Sean, Jay, and Ivan were the live performers. saw them in the 90s
Saw them when they opened for Pantera in 94. Took the White Zombie stage 30 minutes to set up to play a 45 minute set. A very mediocre set at that. Rob isn’t great live. One person worse is Manson. That was 45 minutes of him basically screaming.
@@asskicknchickn manson was amazing live until the early 2000’s..: i will agree he sounds horrible these days though
I saw White Zombie open for Pantera in Cincinnati, they were great
He runs around too much and gets so winded he can finish a line.
Jay never played any of his solos live, I was at the Pantera shows too, and for the astrocreep tour it sounded perfect all of a sudden, they totally milli vanilli'd that. I was surprised to see them not do it here
Music school: Make sure the chorus' lyrics explain the song.
Rob Zombie: "Yeah.....Yeah....Yeah!"
I'm telling y'all.. these guys were so ahead of there time❤️
Rob Zombie has always had way better stage presence and imagery than vocals live. Can't beat the energy of the band as a whole though... freakin' awesome. Love Sean Yseult's green hair, she is rockin' it hard!
I would rather him stand in one spot, without all the screams and grunts, and sing the song good. I'd rather listen to music, than watch music.
I so agree
Sounds pretty awesome. I miss the 90s.
Thats awesome wish i could have witnessed it.
LOL
Literally my favourite album of all time.
Yeaeaaaahhh!!!!!!!
Sean is so awesome 🤘
I saw them in 1996 in Houston. They opened for Pantera at the Summit. They played the most mesmerizing show I've ever seen. 15,000 people tranced out watching them.
I caught them just before that when they came with the Melvens. I was right against the stage looking up at Sean for a moment.
Saw that tour in Florida 🤘
Saw that tour at Riverport. St. Louis. Took a 2.5 hour drive to get there. Dropped a sunshine and one of my buddys prescription lithium pills. 2.5 hours later and I never took one drink off my quart of Old Milwaukee. Man I was fried. Felt like a 10 minute drive.
@@midwestmafia8391 Blue Sunshine?
I think White Zombie headlined that tour outside of Texas.
thnx zombie crew yous hav taught me ha heaps of cool things from 1994,love yous no hugs tho amen!!!!
White Zombie was a bad-ass band, would be cool to see them live again some day. \m/
That Bass sounds heavy, Rob Zombie Rulez \m/
Sean Yseult was literally the only reason this was ever a band. Hot, and could bass hard.
hell, I saw one of her bands in 2005. A Horror rock band called "Rock CIty Morgue". Snappy little combo. She was super nice. still beautiful.
the truest comment on here!
Then, Rob tossed her out like a bag of moldy old tangerines. 😢
guitar man has some chops too
J. Yuenger was the best part of this band by far.
I saw these guys in a bar, in Denver (Glendale actually), in the '80's when the gave out cassette tapes, FREAKIN ROCKED!!!
Astro Creep 2000 is such a badass album from front to back.
I saw Rob play this like 6 years ago. He moved around a bit to jam out but not nearly as much as this. It sounded awesome af. He eventually figured it out.
For years I dreamed of a D'arcy Wretzky/Sean Yseult 3 way
Wretsky didn't age so well lol
LOL 90's token Blonde girl bass orgy fantasy!....add Kim Gordon & the girl from Coal Chamber.

Killer bass line. Just growls.
I love when the bass is this prominent. Usually its turned too far down.
This is my first time seeing this since it was on tv!
hard rock 🖤 🤘
Saw these guys live with Korn in Anaheim back in the day. It was ……… epic
I once saw White Zombie and Korn open for Rage Against The Machine in Denver. Probably the best show I ever saw.
Too bad Rage ended up being hypocritical sellouts.
I always regretted not seeing these guys live...
Until now.
Two Halloween movies later,....And Sean is still hot.
That was almost 30 years ago, my son saw him about 5 years ago in Sacramento and said every song was unrecognizable.
😲🎤
The raw excitement. The dangerous feel of these days! Sure miss this Era.
I've always wondered if Rob knows how bad he sounds, bad ass performance from everyone else as usual
i saw them in 96 they sounded like this then i say them in 2016 and there were solid as fuck, he actauly good now
@@steveh7508 Probably because Rob started exercising and getting on a cardio regimen. That, and he doesn't run around as much. In all his early performances he can't catch his breath after running around so much on stage. He shouldn't sound gassed after 60 seconds.
@@tomwisniewski8988 might have taken professional lessons too, i know alot of 90's band did after they got big

@@tomwisniewski8988 Especially to what he sings, it's not some complex lyrical mastery..
The drums sound absolutely stunning
Sean is amazing but Rob is truly breathtaking
I see what you did there hahaha
Running took the breath of Rob not Rob....pot?
tee hee hee
Now I hear what’s missing (in addition to Rob’s breath). In the studio version, that synth part at the beginning plays throughout the verses. But for this live version, they either took it out because it was too hard to keep time with, or it got completely drowned out in the mix. And that leaves the mostly-one-note bass line to carry the verses.
I remember looking forward to this performance as a 14 year-old, because White Zombie were pretty much the only metal band MTV would play during the daytime. For what it’s worth, I saw them live twice back in the day, and they were awesome both times.
It got taken out cuz they have no one in the band to play it live, dumbass.
It turns out that White Zombie WAS able to include that synth part during the verses when they played live (and that Rob was able to forget the lyrics): ua-cam.com/video/JWM3BGQAKgQ/v-deo.html
So during this MTV performance, the synth either got completely drowned out in the mix, or there was some other equipment issue.
She looks so pretty with her green hair.
Was not Sean Yseult the hottest woman on the planet with that bass in her hands?
She isn’t That Hot
@@josejones7025at that time she was.
No she wasn't . Not that talented either just ok
