That is not a minor key harp. That is a key of C regular tuned harp- likely a Hohner Marine Band Crossover. Being played in 3rd (dorian mode) position.

That was a cool mix-up with the warbles around 1:35. Very satisfying lol. Do you think switching between different tuned harps helps your creativity with phrasing?
Yeah, having the notes laid out differently makes me stumble across phrases I may never have thought to play in other positions or on a different tuning.
@@willharmonicawilde that's what I figured. Some harmonica players styles can get really stale, but then they only stick with Richter because they don't want to learn a new layout.

Hey Will, I appreciate all your personal time and energy that you put into making all these videos. I am sure that it's a 'Labor Of Love" putting all these together}:‑). Wether they are tutorial or you playing live I can always take something away from each one. I don't know if you take requests but I wanted to hear your version of a badass short rock n roll solo. I am talking about Magic Dick on a song called" I don't need you no more" check it out if you haven't heard it and have the time. It would be pretty cool if you could take it apart. It's on the J Geils album called " The Morning After". If you have never heard it then you are missing a fast and funky song. Hell the whole album is killer. Thanks for your time and videos!!0
After 40 years away, I'm playing again (thanks to a new Wilde-tuned harp). I found that a modern, one watt, Supro Delta King 8 tweed amp will provide a nice Chicago blues-type breakup at volume. My problem: I need a mic that can minimize feedback. Any ideas? Some folks want me to play out and a good mic (the smaller the better) is the last thing holding me back. Thanks.

So how about breaking the 3rd position down with key, scale, etc?
Hi Mac; the harp is a "C" which is in the 3rd position relative to the music which is in D minor.
You will find that most advanced players (myself included) don't think about what scale they are using; they just listen to the music and improvise from there by ear.
