The guys talking about surfing and being inside the wave ARE actual surfers. 🏄♂️ Rob Machado and Kelly Slater are two pro surfers, they’re the two penguins playing themselves in the movie lol
This film reminded me that there are creatures in the ocean that don't even look like they're alive lol. That scene almost made me choke on my food when I first saw it lmao. I love this film, the soundtrack, and, of course, the message.
After I raised up to 325k trading with her I bought a new House and a car here in the states 🇺🇸🇺🇸 also paid for my daughter's surgery (Joey). Glory to God.shalom.
I used to put this movie on to help me sleep. It's very relaxing and uplifting. It's up there with Shrek, Up, Monsters Inc, Over the Hedge, Ratatouille for me.
One of the few movies that manages to tell an inspirational story to both the kids and the parents. Jeff Bridges is one of those actors that when he speaks life lessons you better listen.
Fun fact: At the start of the movie, Cody is asked if he has any other skills besides surfing. He replied, "Like what? Singing and dancing?" This is a dig reference at the concurrently produced from Happy Feet.
I saw this years and years and years ago, and it wasn't until your reaction that I noticed Tank has heterochromia. His left eye is brown and his right eye is blue. In other news, amazing flick. Massively underrated and underrepresented in the reaction community.
Fun fact I actually learned about this movie. There was no script for it. It was all imprave with imput from the directors. The DvD extras of the movie talks about the actor's being in the same room during recordings to bounce off each other.
I remember when me and my little brother used to play the surfboard making minigame on the DVD for hours, we still say "broken broken gone gone broken broken broken" several times a year to each other randomly and i still listen to drive daily. Safe to say this is my favorite movie lmao
I’ve forgot how genuinely funny and laid back this movie was. 😅 Surf’s Up is a total vibe and was my favorite animated.. penguin movie as a kid. More than Happy Feet (though I also enjoyed it a ton fold).
When this came out it was my new favorite movie (bc I'm Hawaiian and was a surfer) until moanna came out yes I'm grown and a grandfather but never felt represented really in any movie. Forever young at heart
Shia as Cody and Zoey as Lani was the PEAK OF CINEMA for a younger me. I LOST MY SHIT WHEN I FOUND OUT. like bro, THE TRANSFORMER DUDE?!?!? THE BRO FROM HOLES?!?!?! AND FUCKIN ZOEY DeSCHANEL?!?!?! NEED I SAY MORE?!??! AND GOD DAMN JON HEDER AS CHICKEN JOE!!!!!! MTHAFKN NAPOLEON DYNAMITE?!?!?! younger me died every time. the cast of this film is legendary.
My partner is named Brianna, and i never connected this moment. You have me super psyched to show her this (I'm away on a family issue but looking forward to being home).
Codi did win the tournament but he chose to save Pepe the Chicken because he realized that friendship was worth more while Gran Z was already old, he was a tank, the new star at the time, no athlete can maintain a sport for so long because old age comes later.
An underrated classic in my opinion. The concept of penguins surfing may sound a bit silly, but that adds to the fact that this had such an original idea. This is a good balance of family entertainment and life lessons for all ages. Glad you enjoyed it
I’ve loved this movie since I was a kid. My dad surfed a ton in the 80s and 90s, so he’d put this on all the time. It holds so much humor and heart, an absolute classic. A fun bit of trivia is that they used professional surfers Kelly Slater and Rob Machado to voice some characters! 10/10 movie
can we not sexualize pre-pubescent children, even fictional animal ones? it's actually not normal for an 8 year old to want a grown woman touching him. the penguin kid was clearly portrayed as just a dumb kid, not going after an adult ffs.
I love that Chicken Joe won, he perfectly embodies what Big Z preaches with his mindset, he's not there to win anything, he's just there to have fun with his friends and enjoy himself lol
The sea urchin bit never fails to make me laugh. What next? get the sharks point of view like "Yeah no i was just minding my own business and they walked into my mouth"
Chicken Joe- "Hey guys let's all just calm do.." Tank shoves the shit out Chicken Joe - "KEEP YOUR GIRLFRIEND OUT OF THIS!" Is still the funniest damn interaction I've seen in a movie.
This movie is crazy overlooked by reaction channels. Its way better than it has any right to be. Also, shout out to Curtis for catching Shias's voice in record time.
9:16 i LOVE this moment. Kodi sees him disrespect Z, IMMEDIATELY gives him a concussion and call him skank and lunches him (even if it doesnt really hurr). Balls of steel on this manz
This movie was one of my favorites growing up and still is even now that I'm an adult. I still quote the scene of Tank showing off his trophies to this day 😂
I am angry with the world that i only learned and discovered of this movie recently It is beautiful, funny and emotional all done perfectly in my opinion It doesnt even feel like a movie for young kids and young teens but for older teens, young adults and older generation
This movie is so unexpectedly brilliant. All the actors recorded their lines together to create real bonding and chemistry, bouncing off of eachother naturally even with scripted dialogue. The camera movements were tracked from a real rigged up operator into the 3d environment with a screen so they could see what they were filming. The voice overs during the tube segment were from real surfers to offer recognition and get real passion from them, and you can feel it. And in the end, Chicken Joe, despite being a comedic side character most of the movie, ends up embodying the idea of the movie near perfectly. He doesnt even realise hes won, he was just having fun surfing and hanging with his best bud Cody. On top of all that, theres the amazing character relations, and the depiction of surfing? The danger, the exhilaration, the tranquility, the fun, oh its just so good! Do what you want for the heck of it, have fun, and dont lose sight of WHY we do these things. Probably my favorite movie to show these themes, and all from a mocumentary on surfing penguins, who knew?
This movie is in my top 3 childhoood movies sometimes it can be cliché to say but for this movie its not a cliché this movie is totally underrated! tho love how this movie has become a cult classic.
I was NOT expecting to see you guys react to one of my favorites movies of my childhood of all time. Surf's Up and Cars? Are the GOATS of 2000s. I still own the movie on DVD and I am grateful for it. It sucks this film got a sequel that kind of letted everyone down from their expectations, which I suggest not to react, because it's not canon, and it's something I would rather watch over... Megamind 2. But like Cars? Surf's Up is really memorable, iconic, and most of all.. really funny. :)
I knew Shia since his Even Stevens days and boy. His high pitched screams back then (even into the Transformers movies) still make me burst a gut years later. 😂
Yall should watch Grind, its a skateboarding underdog roadtrip comedy, great soundtrack, lots of good cameos like the guy who voiced Codys brother in this movie, Shooter McCgavin from Happy Gilmore, Tom Green, the stapler guy from Office Space, and a handful of the Jackass guys
Aww.... i miss this penguin movie for this movie format being a mock documentery... Sony already good at making format different movie even before the SpiderVerse....
One of my favourite films from Chicken Joes voice actor Jon Heder are Blade of Glory with Will Ferrell and The Benchwarmers with Rob Schneider and David Spade
This movie is the perfect balance of child entertainment, and life lessons for all ages. Underrated af.
The guys talking about surfing and being inside the wave ARE actual surfers. 🏄♂️ Rob Machado and Kelly Slater are two pro surfers, they’re the two penguins playing themselves in the movie lol
Not only that but Sal Masekela as the announcer
“Stepped on me? Stepped on me? Are you kidding? This guy was dancing on me”
😂💀
This film reminded me that there are creatures in the ocean that don't even look like they're alive lol. That scene almost made me choke on my food when I first saw it lmao. I love this film, the soundtrack, and, of course, the message.
@smok3ywuff784 first thing I thought of when i seen the thumbnail hahahaha
@@gabe1302 hahaha same 😂😂😂
"I mean just look at this. *(Shows bald spot)* Broken broken gone gone broken broken broken. . ."
I quote that at least once a year
My daughter was the chicken for Halloween one year... she made the surfboard and everything :)
That must have been an awesome Halloween for her.
14:03 aaaaaaaaaaaaah😂
5:28 R.I.P Bob maverick
15:18 R.I.P Chicken Bob
17:39 TANK POLISHING YOUR TROPHIES AGAIN
One of the best underrated movies out there! For me, this is the Over the Hedge of 2006!
The film came out in 2007
@EChacon Ah, you’re right. Thanks for correcting me. So the “Over the Hedge of 2007”.
Dude it's crazy you say that cuz I said a comment similar to that I was like this movie is also understated along with Over The Hedge
@@dankvibezz4296 Probably even more underrated than Over the Hedge honestly.
Did they react to Over The Hedge yet??
I'm 47yrs old. $73,000 biweekly and I'm retired costume designer, this video have inspired me greatly in many ways. This is peak animation!!!!❤️
All thanks to Maria Luisa Clare
After I raised up to 325k trading with her I bought a new House and a car here in the states 🇺🇸🇺🇸 also paid for my daughter's surgery (Joey). Glory to God.shalom.
Absolutely! I've heard stories of people who started with little to no knowledge but made it out victoriously thanks to Maria Luisa Clare.
Wow 😱 I know her too
Miss Maria Luisa Clare is a remarkable individual whom has brought immense positivity and inspiration into my life.
I started with a miserly $1500. The results have been mind blowing I must say TBH!
I really appreciate the 'Sometimes you need to be your own number one supporter" convo at the end of the vid.
This movie was actually inspiring, I love that line ‘Cody is me bro let me be me’
14:00 The dawning expressions of horror from the both of you is frickin priceless 😂😂😂
The scream Cody let out was the same scream he had when he fell off the giant wave and nearly died. Both are at the same level for him 🤣
@@Gumgumgamer009I swear he’s got the best scream ever😂
"Stepped on me? Stepped on me? The guy was dancing on me!" - Ivan the Sea Urchin
The music at the beginning when Cody is talking about Big Z and surfing is Oscar worthy
Always loved how amazing they made the water look in this movie, especially that shot at the end
Fun fact: At the start of the movie, Cody is asked if he has any other skills besides surfing. He replied, "Like what? Singing and dancing?" This is a dig reference at the concurrently produced from Happy Feet.

Fun fact I actually learned about this movie. There was no script for it. It was all imprave with imput from the directors. The DvD extras of the movie talks about the actor's being in the same room during recordings to bounce off each other.
Makes the documentary style more natural.
That's just not true lmao. They were encouraged to improvise but there was still a script.
I remember when me and my little brother used to play the surfboard making minigame on the DVD for hours, we still say "broken broken gone gone broken broken broken" several times a year to each other randomly and i still listen to drive daily. Safe to say this is my favorite movie lmao
Behold, the most underrated animated movie ever made!
MY FAVORITE MOVIE OF ALL TIME
Over the Hedge is another fantastic animated film
This and Over the Hedge were my main obsessions growing up. ❤
Both are severely underrated films.
Surf's Up is such a vibe bro. Love this movie.
Chicken Joe is the main character in this movie 😂
I’ve forgot how genuinely funny and laid back this movie was. 😅
Surf’s Up is a total vibe and was my favorite animated.. penguin movie as a kid. More than Happy Feet (though I also enjoyed it a ton fold).
Good taste in animated penguin movies!
"I'm #! The Tank!" 😂😂😂
This is a childhood gem, glad y’all reacted to it

When this came out it was my new favorite movie (bc I'm Hawaiian and was a surfer) until moanna came out yes I'm grown and a grandfather but never felt represented really in any movie. Forever young at heart
When my girls were little this was my favorite DVD to play for them.
I’m so confused why this concept hasn’t been used for another movie it was hilarious
Shia as Cody and Zoey as Lani was the PEAK OF CINEMA for a younger me. I LOST MY SHIT WHEN I FOUND OUT. like bro, THE TRANSFORMER DUDE?!?!? THE BRO FROM HOLES?!?!?!

the cast of this film is legendary.
It just sucks that Shia is a terrible person in real life
Don't forget Jeff Bridges as Big Z! This movie has such an awesome cast and everyone fits their roles so well
I feel like I’m the only person who knew about Shia since Even Stevens and Holes. 😢
Way before he took off in his professional film career.
As someone named Breanna 17:16 is the best part 😂 I hardly ever hear my name in a movie!
My partner is named Brianna, and i never connected this moment. You have me super psyched to show her this (I'm away on a family issue but looking forward to being home).
This movie will allways be my good to movue whrn im down or need a good laugh. Love that you guys reacted to this!

This is one of my 1st Sony Pictures Animation movies of all times and drew fanarts in my deviantart. I was a huge fan of Cody, Lani and Chicken Joe!
And now I'm wondering SFW or NSFW...
Man you guys are knocking some greats out this year 🤣
Tank talking about his trophies always gets me😭😂
I’ve loved this movie since I was a kid. My dad surfed a ton in the 80s and 90s, so he’d put this on all the time. It holds so much humor and heart, an absolute classic.
A fun bit of trivia is that they used professional surfers Kelly Slater and Rob Machado to voice some characters! 10/10 movie
The disbelief at 2:03 😂😂😂
Deidritch Bader had the time of his effing LIFE voicing Tank with his performance
One of the rare “talking animals kid movies” that’s actually good and entertaining for all ages
If im not mistaking most of this movie was improvised or only Tank Scenes, i don’t remember
absolute classic ty very much u two

The chicken is played by Skull from Monster House and Napoleon Dynamite
His character in Monster House was named Bones. Not Skull. 😂
@galaxy_kitten95 Bones was the Z's boyfriend Skull was the monster expert who plays video games. He voiced Skull
This movie was one of my favorites growing up and still is even now that I'm an adult. I still quote the scene of Tank showing off his trophies to this day 😂
Omg, Sam Witwicky was a Penguin surfer in this movie. I forgot that he was in Surf's Up as Cody.
Im 29 years old and was just Cody for Halloween, and I was basically a celebrity. This movie had a serious impact on so many people.
