I start on my roof with a back pack blower. Clean the roof and the gutters (careful now, careful). Then the front porch, Then the back deck and patio. For the rest I use the back pack and the push blower together.
I'm extremely happy and lucky I can just blow the leaves into the woods.
1 person can run a push blower AND back pack blower. Very effective combo !

I've rented one from Home Depot a few times. My experience is that with thick leaves or wet piles is to blow them in an arching(🌈) direction instead of straight across the lawn.
It keeps the piles thin for less passes and a more productive day.

why is the hand held dude blowing at the bottom? shouldn’t he be blowing the top leaves, so you don’t have to slow down when wall of leaves is to high???

I've been thinking about getting the 9hp push version. How is it not being self-propelled? Does it roll good on grass, mulch, dirt, etc.?

I have the 9hp Optimax. I've been using it for about 7 years now. I bought mine 1 year before the self-propelled models came out. Let me just say this......you'll sleep good at night if you pull and push on one of these all day long, no matter what terrain you have. LOL It's heavy.
I started out in 2001 using the old 8hp Industrial Plus models, so I have been using Little Wonder for about 16 years. I'm finally considering giving up the walking, and upgrading to a Hurricane Z3 for my 5 acres.
Little Wonders are great blowers, but I'm just tired of lugging them around. Plus, I am not able to walk quite as good as I used to either.

MrEcm51 Thank you for the reply! I got the push 9 hp. Very nice machine. Really helps out on bigger yards. The biggest I have is 1/2 acre so that isnt too bad to walk. Yes I do sleep good after using it lol.

Lawn mowing - Hi guys. Not trying to bud into your conversation but I'm a 48 yr. old, 115lb woman who works full time for a lawn maintenance service. If I can use the "little wonder" anyone can.
The problem is that many guys wear themselves out by pushing them too fast, when in reality, you can blow the leaves farther if you slow down and focus on where you are directing the air flow.
As soon as the leaves build to around 2 feet, I cut a path in the middle and separate them so I don't have to make as many passes backward and forward to move one huge pile. Blowing 2 or 3 piles is more efficient because the piles can move freely when they aren't being obstructed by the weight of one huge pile.
Being a petite woman gives me an advantage of knowing how to break down tasks so they aren't as physically taxing. I do agree about sleeping good though.

Jo Momma Very good point! I did notice that after a while. Slow is fast.

Lawn mowing - yeah cuz it moves the leaves farther when you go a little slower. Stay strong! I like fellow lawn workers. Most people wouldn't even last a week.

If they have an adapter that aims the air towards the ground it would work.

Is it self propelled and if not, is that hard to push. I work in South Orange in the South Mountain area and it's very hilly, so just curious.

    • @WillAiello99
      @WillAiello99  8 років тому

No it's not and it is a little bit of a bear to push up hill, on flat ground it's fine. Lots of power though.

No this one is not self propelled and is a bear to push uphill however on flat ground it's fine. Great power too.
