    Good stuff. I'm happy to see that this thing is finally coming together... you guys have some of the nicest first gens out there, period.

      Thanks man! It's been a bit of an obsession. I can't wait to have it make some power. It already drives amazing.

    I have 4 legacy's here in aus, 2x Rs and 2x gt. I love these cars! Glad to see you finish this beast! So strange to see them driven on the wrong side though 😂

      Thank you! This series was so much fun to do, and this is one of my dream cars I've had the idea for for over 10 years, it finally happened. I can't wait to film some better driving videos actually making power. I can tell this car is going to be a blast.

    About the 9:40 mark you can hear some turbski sounds! Sounds great guys!

      It sounds great in person! Doesn't show up much on camera, once we can get into boost I'll have more to share!

    Those neighborhoods look familiar, you out in Hillsboro? If so can't wait to see this thing driving around

      I bet all the construction gave it away haha, but yeah you'll definitely see it around town as soon as it's tuned!

      @@HackSquadGarage Yup lol and all the new developments. If you need a tuner, I'd highly recommend Riley at R.Spec tuning. Did my legacy gt and it runs absolutely amazing

    He plays it off but after all that work into a motor and car I feel like Chris Farley from Billy Madison when I’m doing a first time. Only while gripping the wheel and sweating bullets and huffing and puffing I’m saying one little sound and I’m gonna turn this car around and end this little joy ride.

    Really nice to see this build come together. I have one of these first gens but it's basically stock with air-to-water intercooler and 4EAT but it's super fan to drive. I may swap it with a manual tranny but I am not so keen right now for traffic in my city is bad haha. One thing though that I have been chasing is one of those strut bars. Any ideas where I can get one?

    • @HackSquadGarage
      @HackSquadGarage  5 місяців тому +1

      Thanks! It's really exciting and surreal. I would definitely recommend a manual swap, it's super easy and makes the car a lot of fun. Traffic is an issue I just try to avoid haha.
      Yeah I actually got this off ebay. Last time I checked they had dozens of them for sale on ebay. It's gc8 sti carbon fiber strut bar.

    Super fun project! I have a 93 legacy wagon. Would love to do something to it, but probably not as extensive as you. Would you have any suggestions for a more simple build if you were to do it again?

    • @HackSquadGarage
      @HackSquadGarage  2 місяці тому

      Thanks! Yeah I actually really enjoy my other wagon, the blue 94 we have had in the channel many times. That is still my daily driver it's a perfect simple reliable setup.
      Basically ej22t short block. Ej25d heads, head studs. Cometic 040 head gaskets. Td05h 16g turbo. 550cc sti injectors. Robtune 550 ecu. Wrx Coil over plug conversion. Tial 38mm external wastegate. Gfb boost controller.
      The car makes 275whp on 18psi on a mustang dyno. It's been the most reliable car I've had over the last 40k miles. It gets beat on every day. It's super fun to drive and beats cars it shouldn't lol
      We have the whole build on the channel.

    Didn’t damage the unit. The wiring schematics aren’t 100% true as I do wiring merges on subarus a lot. My personal 06 sti has dccd controls and if diagnostics are turned off via ecu flash you will have to read the ecm with a Tactrix cable and or the cobb access tuner and enable the diagnostic codes. Don’t trust the color of wires. Go by pin. And make sure the diagnostics are turned on in the ecm… otherwise no output to dccd.

    • @HackSquadGarage
      @HackSquadGarage  4 місяці тому

      Thanks for the heads up! That's exactly what I did with help from iwire to make sure each pin was correct. Turns out I broke the display somehow when I installed it. So it was in fact working the whole time. I just had no way of knowing.
      I got a new screen and it's all good and working now!!
      Trying to get everything broken in and dialed so we can make some driving videos.

      @@HackSquadGarage I drive a 1985 awd rx turbo with 06 sti swap. I run Tactrix open source tuning and I also am a tuner. my car makes 400 wheel torque, just remember the Cobb ap locks your ecm so un marry it correctly or your ecm is locked or if the ap gets stolen your up shit creek, you can send it to cobb but it’s a pain. Open source will allow you to tune you car, or any tuner you want to tune your car. And besides live tuning, open source in my opinion for the enthusiast. Is the way to go.
      The rx turbo was the one on flat irons customer feature at the beginning of may.

    • @HackSquadGarage
      @HackSquadGarage  4 місяці тому

      Thanks! We got the ap working well for now, if I have to change the setup I have plans to switch over to a haltech elite 2500, I'm already familiar with the software and really like the products. But currently it's not in the budget.
      That sounds like the perfect Rx! I bet that thing is a blast to drive!

    • @HeidiFegles
      @HeidiFegles 4 місяці тому

      @@HackSquadGarage haltech hands down is better for sure. And that’s what I want exactly budget depending haha The best part about the haltech is I have a spare key and ignition and ecm with lost immobilizer. And the complete system. But to ditch the immobilizer would be nice with the haltech. And have a spare complete ecm immobilizer and ecm from 06

      This car has a iag stage 2 tuff block so I didn't need to do any machine work. But on all out other engines we use Portland Bearing Service Co. They are the subaru experts around here.
