So clever! I'm going to try this. It also gives me the idea of doing ombre dying with yarn by hanging loops to a dowel and using the same diluting process.
Love this and LOVE your gratitude for the Lord's grace. When people ask me, how did you ever think about creating these beads? I tell them, I prayed for a business idea and within a week, it was provided. Twenty years later, I am still as grateful as the first day. Glad I found you!
You need two lengths of rope for the twist. The one length is still attached to the bowl. Remove the inner core from the first inch of the other length and tamp it in underneath the attached rope. Glue that in place and let dry before proceeding, Then twist the two ropes together and glue to the bowl as you go. I use clothespins to hold them in place. Hope that helps!
You will have a long tail already from forming the basket. Take the second piece, the one you put in the bottom of the bucket, remove the inner core and squeeze it up against the rope still attached to the bowl. Glue it and wait for the glue to dry. Then twist the two pieces together, gluing them to the rim of the basket as you go. Finish by winding it in a circle, gluing it in place.
Mine is a stainless steel sink so it doesn't stain. I suppose you could just throw it outside somewhere. I really don't think the dye would be in the sink long enough to stain it.
Hola!!
First of all, be sure to start with a broad base so that it will fit over the top of the sewing machine. I believe the pink one on this video was 6 inches in diameter before I started up the sides. Do 2 rounds at 45 degrees, then 2 rounds at 60 degrees and ninety degrees the rest of the way. Press the basket right up to the end of the sewing machine. Hope that helps!
You are a excellent instructor, so helpful, life is good.
Thank you!
LOVE LOVE LOVE that you give God the glory!
Those baskets are the prettiest ones I have seen on UA-cam!
Thank you!
What a great idea as to how to dilute to get the gradients…makes so much sense! And how wonderful that you give God the glory for your ideas.
Thank you!
Love that you mention the Lord and give Him glory ❤
Praise God!

great idea!
The dyes turned out beautiful. I have never tried making a rope basket, but will definitely try once I finish the quilt I gave going.
They all turned out so beautiful!!
Great idea. Looks easy to do.
Ohhh, I love how these turned out! Thanks for sharing!
I love it. ❤❤

Beautiful tea ☕
I have more in the works! Keep watching.
Can you please share how you did the twisted rope top. And I agree, God has awesome ideas.

It’s truly an art form. Thanks so much for this video❤
Brilliant!!
I always wondered how you get the ombre bowls . I love this will have to try it!! Thank you so much!! Your bowls are stunning!!!
Happy to help!
I wish we could see down into the bucket better. Your bowl is beautiful, though!
That would be good.
Turned out really nice
beautiful
Thank you!
I love these rope baskets. I just bought cotton rope to try making one. I hope mine come out as good as yours ❤
Who knows? It might be better!
That’s beautiful.
Thanks!
These are so pretty. Can you please show us how you intertwined the top rope and bowed it ? Thanks so much

@@marthamajor thank you. I think I can visualize this
They are beautiful baskets!
Thanks!
Can you show how you did the braid on top?
You simply twist the two lengths of rope and glue them on top. I use clothespins to hold them in place until the glue dries.
Thank you for another great video. I have a question - how do you dispose of the dye? I worry about staining a sink or tub. Thank you
Mine is a stainless steel sink so it doesn't stain. I suppose you could just throw it outside somewhere. I really don't think the dye would be in the sink long enough to stain it.

Hola!!! La tinta para prendas, en Argentina, se llama Anilina. Y sí funciona, ya la probé.❤❤
When you dipped the bowl into the bleach did you do the whole bowl or just the top .
Just the top, then I dipped a little more and a little more until I got the desired effect. Each dip was only a few seconds.
Ms Martha how do you get the 90° curved? I want my baskets deeper but can't seem to get the curve

Love this idea, can you tell us which FB groups you're in where you're learning about rope basket making?
Check the description box.
@@marthamajor thank you, I missed that before asking! Much appreciated!
Love it!!! How did you dry it?
You just let it sit until it dries!
Was that dish liquid that you squirted in the bucket ? Thanks
I think she used dawn by the look of the bottle she used.
@@tazachary89 You got it!
@@marthamajor thank you so much
Unfortunately, your g and j guy don’t exist. When YEHWEH starts to soon humble the world, the make believe deities you believe in, won’t help you.
