    So, I bought this compressor in 2017 from The Home Depot (Massachusetts) and it's been a great little - but yeah heavy - rig for all sorts of little uses. It recently started to run continuously, not building pressure beyond 50 PSI and overheating. I tore it apart, and discovered a torn flexible jumper hose that spans between a coiled copper tube (which I presume is intended as a heat dissipater), and the connection nib on the tank. I was able to cut the torn 1" off, bend the coil an inch and clamp it back on. I also put gun oil on all the bearings, helping free up the motion of all the moving parts, and also put silicone spray inside the piston (just a lite amount) to help the piston seal slide and make a little less noise. Some may think that putting that there may cause dust buildup and premature piston seal wear. That's possible and I may just find out! Meanwhile, all the little plastic fins on the cooling fan were snapped off, so there was no air movement to cool the motor or copper line. I attempted to make 4 fins from an aluminum rain downspout strap, and used small bolts to fasten them to the plastic fan hub, but that shredded itself apart due to bends in the aluminum being weak the very second I turned it on. Back to the drawing board they say... Well, I just designed (on CAD) a solution I'm going to snip from thicker aluminum sheet. It somewhat reminds me of the turbulator in an oil boiler. Hopefully this will work and get me to the 2027 "remove from service" date on the label. 😜😜
    NOTE: My model # is OF60150HA, whereas the newer one is OF60150HB. I don't know when they tweaked it, but I've looked at the parts diagrams and learned there are slight differences in some parts. Mine has a partition built into the side of the casing to create a tunnel for the air the fan moves. The newer version has a plastic shroud attached directly to the electric motor to create a wind tunnel. The fan itself, however, is likely still the same cheesy plastic fan as mine, so keep an eye on those fins over time self-destructing. Also, there's a different connector tube minus a flexible jumper hose from the pump to the tank. Lucky you!
    I just posted this review on Home Depot for this compressor;
    "In 2017, price was reasonable, I use it to inflate tires/as an air jet working on cars. No air tool use. It's LOUD, unwieldy to carry. Bought a muck cart on Amzn < $100. Recently: 50 PSI max/overheats. On UA-cam, owners found tears in the jumper hose between pump copper coil & tank. I had that tear, tightened coil, sliced off 1" torn hose, reattached w/ a small clamp. Overheating; ALL the blades on the plastic fan are snapped off! Fan NOT available anywhere. Ridgid offers NO solution to this."
    Posted a photo of my jumper hose repair - here's the caption: Tightened diameter of copper coil to reduce distance between fittings after cutting off 1" of torn jumper hose. I feel that if the copper tube outlet pointed at an angle toward the tank fitting, (instead of being horizontal) this may not have happened.
    That copper tube coil gets hot and acts as a cooling device, so no doubt when the fan started to fly apart, the overheating caused the jumper hose to fail prematurely.

      That’s shitty! Good luck with your repair. If it works post the process on UA-cam.

    Thanks for the video, I just purchased this exact unit at Home Depot here in Canada for $155, which when compared is not a bad price at all for the features it has, similar ones go for around 200-250 out here. In the manual it recommends a 30 minute break in time, leaving the drain valve wide open and the pressure set at 0 leaving it running continuously for 30 minutes.

    I just bought a ryobi band saw and i was able to register it in canada. There was a QR code that i scanned and registered a ryobi account and added the saw. Nice compressor. Im debating between this with a rigid brad nailer or a cordless ryobi brad nailer. There could be lots of uses with the compressor though as i dont have one. Thanks for the review.

      A QR code. I’ll have to check on any new tools I get. Seems that if you try it the old way it leads nowhere. Thanks for the info!
      Cheers 🍻

    Thanks for the review! One question... You said you can't register Ryobi tools in Canada, but can you register Ridgid tools in Canada?

    $199 at Home Depot comes with a finish nailer, brad nailer, staple gun, and hose.

      In Canada it’s $155 for the compressor alone and $249 with a Brad nailer and a hose
