Just bought this a few hours ago. Didn’t even bother with manual. Went straight to UA-cam and saw your video . Can’t thank you enough. Now time to do as you instructed
Thank you so much for explaining this in layman terms so us new/first time users don’t be confused and intimidated. Your simple explaining enabled me to use this compressor for the very first time without any hardship or mishaps. Again thank you.
Thanks, for helping me set this up, man! Bought my first compressor. My nephew laughed at me for going "old School" and thanks for the tip on the gauge extension cord. would have never thought of that.
Good point about the extension cord. Also it's better to use no extension cord, or as short as possible. It's best to plug it in to a wall socket and use a longer air hose if needed. (I find it's preferrable to keep it away from you so the noise is less bothersome.)
I just picked this up along with a pressure pot because I'm going to start resin casting, and this was exactly the video I needed to answer the questions that were not explained by the manual.
I just picked this up as a kit with 3 nail guns at Home Depot for $199. I needed a nail gun that actually went through wood for a kitchen island project. I've used nail guns before but never had to prime one myself. Your video was a huge help! Thanks!
I am a year late to the " Rigid doesn't care owners manual" party. I've had some bad manuals but wow, this is right up there. Just wanted to say thanks for the video it was extremely useful and I learned quite a bit. Rigid should just pay you for this video and post it to thier website and add royalty fees to you.😂
My goodness what an enjoyable, great video Thank you so much for the instructions 🙏🏻 just got it at Home Depot and not having to open the booklet It’s a lifesaver. God bless.
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I'll need to get a decent extension cord for my unit. I was almost going to use the one I use for my lawnmower. Thanks to your video, I now know that would not have been a good choice due to insufficient gauge of the wire. Thank you.
Don't forget to register your compressor with Ridgid online. I just bought one of these at Home Depot for $129, 140 out the door (Alabama tax). I was really impressed with how easy Ridgid's registration is. This is my first tool from them (DeWalt guy) and I'm really impressed.
Thank you so much! Just purchased this and was so intimidated to get started (am I going to blow myself up?) After fumbling through a less-than-helpful manual I thought “there must be something better on UA-cam”. This was just what I needed to shake off the nerves and get started! Appreciate you!
Definitely helpful. Manual was making my head spin. My new truck doesn't have an auxiliary power outlet, so I had to upgrade from my mini compressor to fill tires.
Thank you for sharing. I just got my Ridgid 6 today. I used the correct extension cord only by luck so goo to know, and I did the break in. But didn't understand the left gauge. Thanks for explaining. BTW Local distributor guy sells these for $80 out of his house. Good deal.
Great video brother. Perfect timing for me I just bought one and am getting ready to break it in. Thank you for sharing its crystal clear instructions. 👍🏼
don't know if the rules translate but I used to be a commercial diver (deal with bottles and compressors a lot) and the rule of thought was to always leave a little pressure in the tank. that helps prevent corrosion and prolong bottle life
Thank you for the helpful video. I’m new to using air compressors and this video gave me what I needed to set up my new ridgid compressor and blow out my sprinklers. Many thanks to you 🙏
Thank you, your video is way better than the Rigid owners manual that comes with this compressor you cleared up all my questions great job. And I liked and subscribed. Like your accent also.
This is a great video! Thanks so much! Just bought a house in November and I’m now setting up my garage. Quick question, should I empty the tank after every use, or can I leave it plugged in and turned on for using it often?
Great video, thanks for posting. The Rigid manual is not as informative as it needs to be. I picked this up with the package deal - compressor, brad nailer, straight nailer, and stapler, all for $199.
Thank you so much for this! Just bought this at Home Depot tonight, but will run it later tomorrow morning for 30 mins to break it in. Your video was super helpful!
Is there a reason why Dewalt's 6 gallon pancake version mentions nothing about a 30 min initial break in period? I'm going to do it anyways though. Thanks for your very helpful video!
My question … what does the break-in process do for the compressor? Will it harm anything if it is skipped? I’ve been using the compressor infrequently without doing this step and I’m wondering if I caused irreparable damage. 🤔
after watching 7 more vids i finally figured out how to connect the hose MYSELF. the hose does not screw directly into the ports. you have to connect an adapter then plug that into the threaded valve
Hi sir. Thanks for the very detailed and helpful video. Question that I didn’t find covered in video though. Should the machine cut off at or around 150 psi or should I cut it off manually and then adjust it to the pressure I want to use? Also is there a recommended prouder for an air gun attachment? Thanks again sir 🫡
Hi thanks for the video. I am having trouble with my new rigid 6gal compressor (same model) paired with the rigid nailers and hose kit. Sometimes it works perfectly then the next time it shoots blanks then a nail, blank nail, and so forth. I have the tank pressure gauge at 150psi and tried adjusting the Outlet pressure between 70-100psi with no improvement . One thing is I totally missed the part about break in and running it for 30 mins. I just released the air to try and reset it. Anything that you can think of that I might be doing wrong?

100x more helpful than the "operator's manual". Thank you so much!
Your welcome
Seriously. One of the worst manuals I've had. Thanks for the video
Just bought this. This was the video I needed after reading that vague as hell manual. Thanks!
@@chrisblanco8923 have fun w your air compressor. you can do so many things with it.
Thirded the operating manual is useless.
Just bought this a few hours ago. Didn’t even bother with manual. Went straight to UA-cam and saw your video . Can’t thank you enough. Now time to do as you instructed

You're so welcome!
Just bought one and need to use it!!! Thanks I feel like my Dad just taught me all about it!!! Thanks so much!!! Super helpful!!!
Thanks, for helping me set this up, man! Bought my first compressor. My nephew laughed at me for going "old School" and thanks for the tip on the gauge extension cord. would have never thought of that.
The manual should have had pictures of everything you're describing! Thank you for your thorough explanation!
Glad it was helpful!

Sir…I Thank God for People like you! You’re On Point…Just bought it 👍🏼
I appreciate you! 😁👍
That was the BEST informative intro to a air compressor I’ve ever watched. Well Done Sir. Well Done.
I just picked this up along with a pressure pot because I'm going to start resin casting, and this was exactly the video I needed to answer the questions that were not explained by the manual.
I hope you do really well casting resin. I’m glad the video helped ya too. 😁👍

Dang. I just paid $299 for the same package. 👎🏻
@Kids School me too!
I’m going to buy that same package, but it’s now $299 at H.D. 😢
Danm, that's a great price. I got ripped off at my Home Depot. Just picked up the same kit for $299😢
@kidsschool2140 I said the same thing $299 how on earth did he get his for $199, but whatever 😢
No one wants to read the manual anymore including me lols. Your video helped me braking-in the new compressor. Thank you so much!
Awesome review of start up. I typically use things right out of the box without reading instructions. I’m so glad I checked here. Thank you!!!!
This was perfect. All necessary information without any fluff.

Thank you so much for the instructions 🙏🏻 just got it at Home Depot and not having to open the booklet It’s a lifesaver. God bless.
Great video. I just bought one of these, and I was too lazy to read the manual. Also, I bet you explain it better than the manual. You da man.
Thank you Sir!
Very informative and helpful. Just bought this, the include instructions for the compresser are less than vague. Thank you.
Your welcome. Idk why manufacturers don’t make videos to go along with owners manuals.
Thank you for this video! This was a lot more helpful than the operator manual and other videos on this air compressor.
I appreciate the rundown on this compressor. Just bought one and I’m hoping it last. The instructions will really help. Thanks
I'm setting my Rigid compressor right now. Thank you very much Sir. You are a life saver!!!

Thanks for the simple yet thorough video.
Great walkthrough and everything you said was valuable and right to the point!
Exactly what I wanted to know was to break the compressor in. Thanks and will be looking to get that 12g extension cord as soon as possible.
Awesome. Thanks. Have a good one 😁👍
don't know if the rules translate but I used to be a commercial diver (deal with bottles and compressors a lot) and the rule of thought was to always leave a little pressure in the tank. that helps prevent corrosion and prolong bottle life
Concise, informative and to the point...well done!
Very thorough directions. Thank you.
😁👍
Thank you so much for this. I bought this today so I could manage a bit more independently. I’m a bit nervous but this video is easing my jitters!
Great video!!! Thanks for keeping it simple and to the point!
Great primer for first time user. Glad I came up on this. Thanks bud
I appreciate you too! 😁👍
Thank you for being concise and to the point! Saved me a lot of reading, sir! 😅
Great information. I just purchased one today and this video helped me out a lot on how to set it up.
Thank you for the helpful video. I’m new to using air compressors and this video gave me what I needed to set up my new ridgid compressor and blow out my sprinklers. Many thanks to you 🙏
It’s very handy. Had to use mine quite a few time so far. Thanks for watching. And for commenting. Have a good one 😁👍
@DanMcKelvey you recall the video you watched? I would love how to do this myself.
Great video, thank you so much! Cleared up some questions I had being a first time user!
Perfect video for a beginner
Thank you
Great straight to the point video 💪🏾
Thanks! 😁👍
Thank you for the video! Its my first compressor so i really appreciate it
Great rundown, thanks for making!
Thank you, your video is way better than the Rigid owners manual that comes with this compressor you cleared up all my questions great job. And I liked and subscribed. Like your accent also.
Thank you! Simple and direct!
Perfect video for me. I just bought one! Thanks!
Thank you, the operators manual wasn't helpful, but now I have it breaking in the right way
Luckily watch watch this great teacher before plugging it in, Read the somewhat useless manual. Thank you Sir for a brief and though lesson.
Great video thanks for walking us through !
My pleasure.
Right on, I hate manuals this was helpful
Ridgid should have hired you to write the manual. Your video is infinitely better than their instructions. Thank you!
Thank you so much ! How helpful and quick
100% more helpful than the owner’s manual
Great information. Are we supposed to lock in a pressure setting by pushing to the knob inwards and vice versa?
Thank you! Had no clue what I was doing until I found this video
Glad I could help! I hope it comes in handy for ya. Cause mine sure is. It’s the perfect addition to my shed.
Thank you! I thought the 30 minutes was a typo!
awesome SIMPLE video!! THANK YOU!!!
I wanted to give you another Thank You
For standard household stuff, like filling bicycle tires and a small nail gun and whatnot. Is there a generic setting to set the outlet pressure?
Better than the manual. Thanks
Wish you had a video for all products I bought! Great job
Yo thanks bro!!! You helped me out way more than the manual. They should pay u to do these for them
Thank you so much for this! Just bought this at Home Depot tonight, but will run it later tomorrow morning for 30 mins to break it in. Your video was super helpful!
Life saver vid thank you Sir
Thanks for the video! I just picked one of these up, and this was very helpful.
Do I need an extension cord or can I just use a longer air hose?
Thank you very much. You have no idea how much you have helped me out.
Is there a reason why Dewalt's 6 gallon pancake version mentions nothing about a 30 min initial break in period? I'm going to do it anyways though. Thanks for your very helpful video!
Great Vid.. Just bought mine today.. Will be following your break in guide before actually using it to work with.
You are awesome!! Thank you for the straight forward common sense information!! 👍🏼
THANK YOU SO MUCH!! Way more helpful the manual.
Do I need to let it run 30 minutes every time I use the compressor or is this just a one time break in thing?
just bought this with a brad nailer finisher nailer and finish stapler all for 199.99 at HD
Great tips!
Thanks .. got one today for $99 from Home Depot.
Outstanding info, thank you, Sir.
Very good presentation! Thanks
Super helpful, thanks brother !!!
No problem. Glad the video helped 😁👍
My question … what does the break-in process do for the compressor? Will it harm anything if it is skipped? I’ve been using the compressor infrequently without doing this step and I’m wondering if I caused irreparable damage. 🤔
Thanks for the clear explanation!
After filling the compressor with air, set psi for tool, attach hose… do you keep the compressor on to maintain pressure as you use your tool?
Excellent for me
Thanks for this video, super helpful. Do I need to break in the air compressor again after not using it for a long time?
after watching 7 more vids i finally figured out how to connect the hose MYSELF. the hose does not screw directly into the ports. you have to connect an adapter then plug that into the threaded valve
About to go unbox mine, super helpful video. Now I don’t have to read instructions. 😅
Well done.
Thank you, extremely helpful.
Very helpful! Thank you.
Fantastic video. Thanks
This compressor can be used to remove and put car wheel nuts?
Hi thanks for the video. I am having trouble with my new rigid 6gal compressor (same model) paired with the rigid nailers and hose kit. Sometimes it works perfectly then the next time it shoots blanks then a nail, blank nail, and so forth. I have the tank pressure gauge at 150psi and tried adjusting the Outlet pressure between 70-100psi with no improvement . One thing is I totally missed the part about break in and running it for 30 mins. I just released the air to try and reset it. Anything that you can think of that I might be doing wrong?
Very helpful!!!
Nice Job! 👍
