Hey brother! Put that mop and glow in a spray bottle and spray it on the skull and horn. Then just back brush it. You can mist the larger surfaces, and stream spray the tiny areas that the brush won't fit very well. I found it's way faster than just brushing all of the sealer on. I didn't seem to waste any more mop and glow than normal. Also the mop and glow seems to be storing ok in the spray bottle. Thanks for the follow up to Africa videos! Amazing pile of critter skulls!
Tbh I prefer the natural look of the skull. I found a fox skull a few months ago and it was perfectly cleaned by all the bugs. So I boiled some water to kill off the rest inside it, gave it a good scrub and glued in the teeth and dried it off. It looks more realistic that way.
WOW!! As one of those 'oddballs' who collects skulls for fun, I must say that this video was so cool to watch. Very jealous of those awesome specimens (especially those antelope and the monkey)!! Great video as always. Hope your 4th of July was nice.
Another great video. Articulate and detailed, as usual. I've learned a ton from watching what you've posted. You've probably already tried it, but I use a spray bottle to apply either mop and glow or a 50/50 mix of Mod Podge if i'm looking for a matte or glossy finish. You may lose a little more product with the spray, but it helps coat those hard to reach places with a brush. Either way, thanks for continuing to post!
Man you had your work cut out for you! As usual though, you attacked it with confidence and no fuss. LOVE IT! Keep doing what your doing bro, its amazing work.
Been a little while. We missed you. The video was awesome. Wish we could have a video of each one but I'll settle for anything. Great as always. Happy 4th.
Hi there! what a good video thank you, I was waiting for this one lol! I've managed to find a solution for the horns that cant come off, yes to drill holes is the best bet, then to fill the holes with formalin and leave the skull upside down with the liquid in for about 2weeks - this is what takes the time!! Then give it a good clean after, and leave it to dry about 2months. I tried cleaning the skull and leave the horns to mother nature....but in SA we get beetles or worms that just about eats up the whole horn!! never mind just cleaning it - I was left with just the bone inside the horn on the skull! This was a great video thank you! I look forward to your horn cleaning video. Keep em coming! Greetings from SA. Yolandi
Awsome video as always. I have a couple of javalina skulls I've been working on for about six months now. Soaking them in buckets of Oxy Clean and water. Last weekend I boiled them in peroxide again but there still not decreased. Orange reddish color on them still. Just keep soaking them?
Could you setup a pot to do a dunk of the Mop and Glo? At least for the smaller skulls and then do a touch up after you pull them from the pot. Great info and it's amazing how many things you guys came away with from that hunt great job!
Hay brother!!!!! Was starting to get worried haha. Great job and wow!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is amazing almost a gallon a mop and glow Ha ha great to see you put another video out you're the man!!!!!! Thank you for doing what you do and keeping it real. By the way have you gotten any of my emails about Wyoming I don't know how to email at all so I don't know if Im doing it right.well keep up the great work bass are biting have a safe 4th brother!!!!!!!!!👊
just out of curiosity. Is it personal preference to brudh on the mop and glo? And if not would a spray bottle possibly work better or make things easier? Fantastic video and super informative! Keep cleaning those critters and ill kee watching!
Ok so what safari did you go on that allowed you and four other people to harvest 52 animals!!!! Thats a ton!!! Would love to look into them and see what the prices are....congrats on your harvests
Maybe you've mentioned it before, but long do you leave the skulls in the boil? Also the more brittle or messed up skulls, do they differ time wise as well? For example the one skull that came back a little wet with the red discolouration, did that have to stay in the bath for a shorter amount of time?
Did you ever do that video on what to do with horns that can not be removed due to the horn mechanics that do not allow for the horns to be removed as with some of the African skulls. I am trying to figure this out on a large springbuck. The sheath is loose and wil slide about 2 inches but wil not go any further.
Always wondered how/how well they took care of the skulls over there. Had a question about teeth of all things. Do you do anything to remove the brown (plaque?) in the fissures of the teeth or just leave as is? Never have seen anyone address this before. Thanks, and as always, love the vids!
Some of the taxidermists here in SA drill holes into the horns of the animals where it can't be removed from the core, and inject them with peroxide to clean the inside.
Hi. as far as I know, we in South Africa would never touch horns or tusks. So I think where the holes comes from is dep. of fish and wildlife, or even on out side, have drilled it to make sure no drugs was hidden in it.
Gorgeous skulls! I am forever impressed by the size and shape of the horns on some of these creatures. :D Quick question for you, if you don't mind. :) For the skulls that are brittle, especially in the nasal bone/sinus cavity area, is there a way to reinforce the area to minimize the chance of breakage?
Wow, I cannot believe they abuse the trophies like this in Africa, that's so disrespectful. I would think ten times before going hunting there after knowing what they'll do to the horns and skull. :o Great work putting it all together and making it look as good as possible.
Who was the outfitter you went to if the skulls turned out like that? That just looks so bad they were treated in a careless way, if would want to do em myself lol
Have you ever thought of or tried to use concrete sealer for the coat after their done? I don’t know what chemical reaction it would have with the bone, but just thinking it would seal up and harden the bone. 🧐
The red color should be dry blood what wont come off, we had a moose skull like that. Only thing what helps with that is DONT SKIN THE HEAD BEFORE YOU ARE GOING TO BOIL IT.
Where to begin.......First off if your using 35% industrial peroxide the last thing you want to do is mix it with regular water, distilled water is the safe and best way. Second thing is i don't see you doing anything about the natural grease in the bone (what bone is left) if you don't remove it in time they will yellow. I have been doing this for a living for several years now and we use Beetles to clean the skulls and every bone no matter how fine or small never breaks. Looks like a quick short cut to make a buck and run. I would like to see one of your skulls that is like 5 years old and see how white it still is. One more thing, peroxide is not flammable but is will accelerate a fire like gas so if that pot ever overflows and hits that flame...........run baby run! Be careful people never boil peroxide read up on it if you don't believe me it can be dangerous stuff if not handled properly.
Thank you for the time putting this comment together. I too have been at the skull thing for some time 25 years actually. You can’t buy 35 percent peroxide that I am aware of. We recommend 40 percent by volume peroxide developer which is 12 percent then diluted in half with water. My skulls do what all skulls do in time they take on natural color but never leak or smell. Nothing degreases like the boiling the peroxide mix. The beetles do an awesome job but they make the degreasing time much much greater. The method I share is for the do it yourself guy that can’t afford the taxidermist. These are Just guidelines. Hope you understand.

Tbh I prefer the natural look of the skull. I found a fox skull a few months ago and it was perfectly cleaned by all the bugs. So I boiled some water to kill off the rest inside it, gave it a good scrub and glued in the teeth and dried it off. It looks more realistic that way.
For sure to each their own.

Awsome video as always. I have a couple of javalina skulls I've been working on for about six months now. Soaking them in buckets of Oxy Clean and water. Last weekend I boiled them in peroxide again but there still not decreased. Orange reddish color on them still. Just keep soaking them?
+Bret Beagley If they are clean use the peroxide mix it will pull the oil and whiten.
Sorry you received your skulls in that condition man. Quick question, do the impala horns/sheaths come off of the skull like the gemsbok or the kudu?
Could you setup a pot to do a dunk of the Mop and Glo? At least for the smaller skulls and then do a touch up after you pull them from the pot. Great info and it's amazing how many things you guys came away with from that hunt great job!

+Jonathan baker Hey Brother I got them let's talk tomorrow. I'll email you my number it would be better if we talk.
Sounds good thank you
So are you using silicone sealent to fill tusks now instead of epoxy? It would be crazy cheaper. Thanks again for great videos.
Try a spray bottle for your mop and glow it works pretty good
+Deer hunter B Will do
Was curious as to how much it cost to ship that crate to you? Will have one of those coming stateside within the next 5-6 months.
Thnx in advance!
just out of curiosity. Is it personal preference to brudh on the mop and glo? And if not would a spray bottle possibly work better or make things easier? Fantastic video and super informative! Keep cleaning those critters and ill kee watching!

Josh Timblin www.google.com/search?q=blaauwkrantz%20safaris
Fantastic people.
Do you think soaking a rag in the peroxide/water mix and draping the rag over the skull would work to whiten it?
YAAAAAAAAS
HAPPY 4TH OF JULY TO EVERYONE
Do you mean HAPPY 3TH OF JULY TO EVERYONE
Daniel Bartley it was just in advanced
Ok I understand now thanks
I live in south Africa🇿🇦
Old man show me how to take the horn off the core a long time ago . Seamed easy once I learnd how .
Maybe you've mentioned it before, but long do you leave the skulls in the boil? Also the more brittle or messed up skulls, do they differ time wise as well? +Thomas Ceruzzi I never spend much time on teeth but the normally the color batch will whiten them beautifuly
Thanks! Had a younger buck last season that looks like he missed his dentist appointments lol.
So you can re whiten skulls if the bone is hardy enough and it’ll come out white again?
Yes!!
Gorgeous skulls! I am forever impressed by the size and shape of the horns on some of these creatures. :D
Quick question for you, if you don't mind. :) For the skulls that are brittle, especially in the nasal bone/sinus cavity area, is there a way to reinforce the area to minimize the chance of breakage?
+WarChant dA Not that I'm aware of. I just put them on the wall and leave them alone. Thank you for watching.
I had a feeling that that would be the case. Thank you for the reply, and I look forward to seeing more videos in the future!
have you done any snapping turtle clean ups or turtles in general?? just curious
Wow, I cannot believe they abuse the trophies like this in Africa, that's so disrespectful. I would think ten times before going hunting there after knowing what they'll do to the horns and skull. :o
Great work putting it all together and making it look as good as possible.
Who was the outfitter you went to if the skulls turned out like that? That just looks so bad they were treated in a careless way, if would want to do em myself lol
Is there a huge difference between the cream developer and the liquid developer? Better to do the liquid than cream?
Thanks
Kyle
+Kyle Hosler Yup.
Have you ever thought of or tried to use concrete sealer for the coat after their done? I don’t know what chemical reaction it would have with the bone, but just thinking it would seal up and harden the bone. 🧐
A dab of vinegar should take those rust spots out. EDIT: Or some CLR and a Q tip. :)
happy 4th, but my question is when your doing a muley or whitetail do you put mop and glow on the antlers and skull?
Oscar Reyna Just the skull.

About how long did it take you to get the skulls back from Africa? Just wondering.
+Grant Hansen A little over a year.
Out of curiosity, what did it cost to get that crate shipped?
Hey Bro - you mentioned using locktite for pig tusk (on a prior video) - is that just regular super glue? Thanks
Do they not let you keep the hide?? What if you wanna do a full taxidermy mount?
The red color should be dry blood what wont come off, we had a moose skull like that. Only thing what helps with that is DONT SKIN THE HEAD BEFORE YOU ARE GOING TO BOIL IT.
where do u get the mop n glow from n is it the same as u use on floors
How would you go about getting the horns of a Texas long horn ?
Did you figure out why they drilled holes or did I miss that
Nice
dude btw i have that dame hat. sweet
Do you mop and glow all antlers and horns
Didn't think there's anything left in Africa.
Would it not be simpler to have enough mop and glo to fill a drum so you can dunk them?
Where do you get your peroxide? I'm having a hard time finding any.
+Cole Simo Beauty supply or Amazon
Could you make a video on SKINNING AND SKULL CLEANING A MARTEN
+Mait Mägi Will do I just need a Martin.
You can see that gemsbuck (oryx) was a cow (female) the bull’s (male) horn are thicker and shorter and the cows horns are thinner and much longer
Have you ever thought of doing a complete skeleton?
I wish he would! It would help me with putting together a raccoon.
Where was your Fishing trip
Can you make a video of your trophy room
+Darcy Galliano Sure
Have you ever tried a fish skull

Why is drilling holes in horns a "no-no" in USA?
+Nate Faraci Just uncommon in the states typically we do not alter the horn in any way.
Ahh I see. Thanks of replaying man. Keep up the good work!!👍👍
can you clean a snake Bone
+Ardian Fajar Yeah will do.
Wow
Maybe you should let the skulls sit in some MILK
Jaycob Suarez the milk will make it yellow like teeth
Well if you put it in milk in theory it should be harder
@@Josh-mc9sx it was joke
