How to assemble Walmart Mainstays 30 - 84 in. decorative curtain rod- in 46 seconds

It took me forever to figure out what to do. I had to cheat and look at another video, but it was almost 4 minutes long, and the instructions weren't quite right. this is a brief, up-to-date explanation of what to do!

How do I shorten the rod? I have two windows that are 37" and run up again the wall.

Mine has 6 poles and none are labeled. They’re telling me to insert one pole into another but both are the same diameter.
How do you only have 3 poles?

It's been a few years, but I think you have to use all of the pieces, but you can just telescope them in to as small as you want up to a certain point.
