Why are the rail supports inclined? Any sense, they get longer and weaker.

I'm talking about the supports of the rail that is in front of the scope. It should be straight not angled, this would be it more strenth and more light.

That is likely a trade off between ultimate strength and aesthetics. Product design is always a balancing act.
