Glad I stumbled upon this video, great job. I been looking for brake options for my ACTY since stock are so hard to get and expensive. Go figure the link for the kit is out of stock, lol. Time to do more digging, keep cranking out great ACTY videos brother.
Awesome video, very informative. Thank you, I just got my ACTY HA3 and was looking at brake components. Man ridiculously expensive, this kit is less than half the price. My ACTY is two wheel drive, .and I don’t have spacers . Will I still need the 1/4 inch spacer behind the rotor? As cheap as you said they were, I’ll use your link and order them any way.
Thanks for watching! Yes you will still need the 1/4” spacer so that the rotor lines up with the caliper. Make sure to use anti-seize on both sides of the spacer. Email me and I can send you the file. Good luck
Yeah I hear you. I tried modifying civic struts to fit but not even close because of the knuckle design on the Acty. I think the easiest route is to modify lower control arm and knuckle so it can run coil overs.
I did not. I think you would still need to modify it somewhat since the knuckle/spindle is quite different from a civic it would probably have different mounting hole locations.
Any chance you’d be able to get me the information on the brakes you used? Unfortunately, the link to eBay is no longer working. I’m looking on changing my brakes on my 1997 Honda Street Van.
This will not work on the factory 12 inch wheels. My spacers are due to me running wheels with the incorrect offset so depending on your wheels, you might not need the wheel spacers but you will need the quarter inch spacer behind the rotor.
Marco, what's the ID and od of those shims? I ordered the ones on the link that you provided and it was wayyy bigger than the one you were holding in the video
You are absolutely right. Looks like I put the incorrect link for the shims. Below is the correct link. I also corrected the link in the description. Thanks for catching this: www.mcmaster.com/shim-washers/system-of-measurement~metric/ring-shims-7/id~12mm/thickness~0-5mm/material~stainless-steel/material~18-8-stainless-steel
Email me and I can send you the file cardaytoday@gmail.com. You will need to cut them out of 1/4” thick aluminum. For this service I recommend Sendcutsend link below: sendcutsend.com/
I bought a full set (link in the description). I ended up using the shorter brake lines that came in the set, not sure if it’s the front or rear on the Civic.
I just used the gravity method. Filled up the reservoir and just let it pour out the bleed nipple on the caliper. This doesn’t always work perfectly but in this case it worked fine.
I’m currently using 15” steels whelps from a 92 Civic Del Sol with 185/60 tires. However this set up will not work on a stock Acty. I’m using 1.5” spacers so the wheels clear the suspension. Also, the tires rub in the front at full steering lock. So if you go with 15” wheels you should stick to 50 profile tires, or use 14” wheels. Good luck
This is an amazing upgrade! This truck is better than new👍🏽
When I saw you take 2 wrenches and stack them up for more leverage I knew at that point you knew what you're doing. Thanks for the help!
This video was tremendously helpful, thank you!

Great job now let’s see you do that on a carry 😊
I don’t own a Carry, but I believe you could use brakes from a Geo Metro or Suzuki Swift. At least that’s where I would start.
Hello Marco,
Wow that came out nice 👍 keep up the good work. Happy July 4th weekend.
If only a fab shop would get on a comprehensive 4link setup using eg parts.. would love to be able to buy big box struts for my acty that are OEM+
Yeah I hear you. I tried modifying civic struts to fit but not even close because of the knuckle design on the Acty. I think the easiest route is to modify lower control arm and knuckle so it can run coil overs.
This is what you need Vessel 9802SC Impacta Screwdriver Set, Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS), 2 pc
That is the exact tool I used. Unfortunately one of the sides was just too corroded
Amazing video man!
Link to aluminum spacers and half mil washer?
Thank you and thank you for the kind words! I updated the info in the description to include links to those items
Did you look at possibly using the dust cover from that civic aswell?
I did not. I think you would still need to modify it somewhat since the knuckle/spindle is quite different from a civic it would probably have different mounting hole locations.
You are shimming it over half a mm? You do know those bolts are slides, right? It floats and self centers.
Yes and no. The more centered it is the more even the wear will be.
It's a floating caliper. It self centers. It is the same force on each side when it squeezes.
Any chance you’d be able to get me the information on the brakes you used? Unfortunately, the link to eBay is no longer working.
I’m looking on changing my brakes on my 1997 Honda Street Van.
Calipers, pads and rotors are from an EG civic, base model, 92-95.
Without the wheel spacers, do you think those rotors would fit alright?
This will not work on the factory 12 inch wheels. My spacers are due to me running wheels with the incorrect offset so depending on your wheels, you might not need the wheel spacers but you will need the quarter inch spacer behind the rotor.

Thanks for this, are you able to share the file to have the spacer made?
Email me at cardaytoday@gmail.com
Did he get back to you with the file?
Great video!
What caliper kit is that? Are those reman like power stop kits or a aftermarket oem
After market OEM
What year & model civic /del sol for the brake rotors and front calipers
Base EG Civic. I believe 91-95
did you reuse the old copper washers or did you buy new ones with thr stainless steel lines?
The new brake lines actually came with new crush washers so I replaced them.
If not you can buy a copper crush washer set at harbor freight for only a couple bucks
Anyway you can provide the file for those spacers? Or just a set of the spacers
Email me and I can send you the file cardaytoday@gmail.com. You will need to cut them out of 1/4” thick aluminum. For this service I recommend Sendcutsend link below:

I sent you an email about the spacers for the rotors..could you check if received
You got it?
What brake lines did you end up using
I bought a full set (link in the description). I ended up using the shorter brake lines that came in the set, not sure if it’s the front or rear on the Civic.
Would this also work for a Suzuki Carry 93?
I doubt it, but you can do what I did but look in the Suzuki family. Maybe brakes from a Samurai or Suzuki Swift world work.
I wanted to watch to see how you bleed the brakes by yourself...lol
I just used the gravity method. Filled up the reservoir and just let it pour out the bleed nipple on the caliper. This doesn’t always work perfectly but in this case it worked fine.
