Been there. When we visited my relatives in 2008. Amazing. Hadn't been there since 1988. The wall was still up.
How did the Berlin rail network work when Berlin was divided?
@@fa18superhornet Ganz Normal, nur eben bis zur Mauer, da war Ende, von West Berlin, fuhren einige U-Bahn Strecken durch 5 Ost U-Bahnhöfe einfach durch, die im Ost Berlin waren, die Ost Polizei hat sich immer hinter einer Pfeiler versteckt, ----- Ich Wohne in Berlin, seit 1970 🙂

The undergrund station (U-Bahn) is hardly used for the moment because it serves only a very short line not connected with the actual underground network. This will change at the end of 2020 when this piece of line (U55) get connected with the U5 from Alexanderplatz.

Awesome station the glass elevator can be a bit daunting for people scared of heights.
Seit ich in Berlin Urlaub mache, kann ich getrost behaupten, dass jedes einzelne Mitglied im Bahnhof absolut perfekt ist - ob Manager oder Kundenbetreuer, sie sind alle absolute Perfektion! Wenn ich dauerhaft nach Berlin, Deutschland, ziehen würde, würde ich STOLZ für sie arbeiten, wegen ihrer perfekten strengen Disziplin, Manieren und Kenntnisse. Sie erinnern mich an die Samurai- und Kung-Fu-Meister Asiens!

I don't know why, but the acceleration sound of those S-bahn units echoing in the station creeps me out a little.
they kind of fixed it in the new model series. well, actually it just ramps up faster and is slightly less noisy.
The sound of home to me, it is kind of unique indeed.

Gibt es eine gelbe BVG Fahrkartenmaschine am Berliner Hauptbahnhof? Keine habe ich im Video gesehen. Kann man auch den 24-Stunden Fahrschein am roten/weissen DBkiosk fuers BVG kaufen? Wo findet man die Maschinen, wobei man die Fahrkarten staempeln/gueltig macht? Wo findet man die Schliessfaecher fuer Gepaecke? Leider zeigt das video uns diese wichtigen Dinge am Bahnhof. Es scheint, als ob alle S-Bahnen sich ganz oben im Gebaeude finden, und dass die einzige U-Bahn ein paar Werkstoecke unter dem Bahnhof liege. Wo finder man die Fernzuege?
