Hey everyone! “Cameraman” here 😎✌🏼 Please consider giving this video a share to promote the old trucking morals of lending a helping hand and camaraderie. Y’all are a family out on the road as Shelby said. Let’s get this hashtag going: #notruckerleftbehind
My husband is a Detroit Police Officer, thank you for your service where that may have been for how long that may have been for. Not an easy job. Your skills are amazing and i'm glad you could help out in that situation as well. The music is amazing in these videos, shots are gorgeous, keep up the good work! amazing videos.
Black Kodiak Media techie question/request!? That’s a very nice orange/teal colour grade you’ve got going on there 😁 Do you use a commercial LUT or a home made one? I’ve been trying to get that look for my vacation movies...having problems with orange faces though 😂
Skallia Ray I worked in a couple different states, one city PD and another county SO. Thank you for the compliments and tell your hubby to stay safe out there.
Black Kodiak Media I was going to say the same thing!!! This video is incredible! I hope you send it to that fire department. At least the shots of them. Such an artistic view of the amazing work they do.
Being in the emergency services for 13 years now, I've been on several trailer fires. And a couple tractor fires as well. I wanted to give a shoutout to the fire department and law enforcement on scene, as well as to you for stopping, and to BKM, for assisting. You guys are awesome.
Sometimes every little bit helps. Awesome to see this comment after reading some other comment bashing her and BKM saying how dumb it was for them to step in to try and help.
@@stephenrich3029 There's nothing wrong with them trying to help. That's part of being a truck driver. Help out your fellow man. Not leave them stranded, and hope for the best.
I was panicking when you were running down that shoulder in the dark !! The way those trucks were speeding past was plain crazy !! As always, please stay safe Shelby !!
Absolutely, Shelby and the incredible BKM* make great videos but dang, Dakota's subtitles are the best! (I mean, being in the cab all the time, and moving about to get different shots, and Dakota totally not reacting to them... the perfect fly on the wall!)
I remember when I 1st .. Started driving the Early seventies.... There were been 20 trucks stopped it this one.. It seemed like no one gives a shit anymore.... By the way I am retired..
Native Oregonian here. I love this state and never want to leave! Also props to you for stopping to help. In this day and age it's hard to find people willing to do that
Wow you've trained her well. I can see the Brooklyn Bridge and the Statue of Liberty, but I can't stop looking at the breathtaking scenes of nature from your travels. You should be given a ribbon for coming to the assistance of another person in distress. Truckers helping truckers. Shows just how genuine you are.
As a trucker that’s been in this for years , what you did in this situation shows your willingness to go beyond all obstacles to help a fellow trucker , god is with you , I only hope if I ever run into these types of problems I would be fortunate enough to have someone like you to come along and help . GOD BLESS YOU , BE SAFE OUT THERE
I forgot to say this on your previous video. You have one sweet dog. Dakota is so cute. That trailer really caught fire and thank god to the Fire Department. How bad was the damage??? Shelby your awesome to help that trucker. I foresee you getting help in return in the future. Good karma comes to those who help others.
God bless you for stopping and helping! I'm glad that you all are safe! Like you said many just kept going and yes, on the Hwy they go the speed limit or above and that was dangerous because like you said you almost got hit! People when they see those triangles at first glance need to slow down and move over for safety, I do, and stop and help each other! But people are always in a hurry! I pray traveling mercy over you and your friend and beautiful dog! You Rock🙏❤️
Not as exciting i can tell u that. But this channel is good on making trucking some how awesome and interesting. Keep doing the good job enjoy watching ur vid keep them coming :)
Great job and back in the old days there would have been 25 trucks on the side of the road helping that guy. You did good stay safe and warm and see you later down the road
Awesome to see you stopping to help. I would recommend you get some tactical flashlights that have the strobe feature for it will make it easier for people to see you. I would also recommend getting roadside flares because the only time the reflectors work is when they are hit with light. Flares, especially in this situation with all the smoke, can be seen whether light hits them or not. Might also help to have a reflective vest with battery powered strobes attached so people can see you as you're laying the triangles and flares out. I have all this in my roadside kit in my jeep I would highly recommend you do the same. Good to see everyone was okay and it didn't get worse than it did.
@@ShelbyHBTM I personally would recommend getting flares yourself just for that extra bit of safety but it's good to see you immediately thought of putting out the triangles when no one else did.

She may not consider herself this, but she seems like a great recruiting person for the trucking industry... and right now people are really realizing how important the truckers are! Truckers are the heroes in this country right now and finally people are realizing how important they really are. Great video, so much beauty you can witness on the road and it was really awesome how you stepped up to assist at the trailer fire. You have a really great cameraman and thank you for your service!
The editing throughout the background music segments in this one is amazing beyond words! I'm sure it took endless hours to piece it all together for our enjoyment. Good stuff!

Incredible video BKM! Loved the break stop for a nature walk, cinematography and music was exceptional...yes...right out of Middle Earth. Really enjoy hearing Shelby's story telling - fire dialog and video was exciting. Nice team work!
It’s nice to see the stop and help attitude in other young people!! That’s how my family raised me and my sister, we’d always roll down windows on the highway if someone’s hood wasn’t down right or if someone was hauling a camper with a door open or something. When you take the five minutes to stop and help that will stick with you and with them for a long time and will always come back around ☺️

My dad is and has been an OTR Trucker for about 30+ years! I love the truck and grew up in one most of my "pre education" life! One thing that my dad really mentions is that the old school way of trucking has changed. He says that if someone would break down, it seemed like you had a line up of men/women wanting to help. I worry about him a lot of the time BUT it really great to see that there is still kind and caring individuals looking out not only for other truckers but my old man!! As a retired vol fire/rescue and EMS worker for 35 years, I’ve seen a lot. But one of the most dangerous things you can do is to be on the side of the road at accident scene. So you be extra careful in the future. I don’t want you to get hurt. May I suggest you get a reflective vest or coat you could throw on in an emergency. That would help you to be seen. I applaud you for helping out. Not many people do that anymore. If I’m ever broken down on the side of the road, I could only hope you’d be the one who’d stop to help! Keep up the vids. I’m loving them! Be safe out there!
I forgot my vest at home. This was a brand new truck and I keep it on a hook by the door and just missed it on my way out. Usually I have everything packed into my truck so I’m ready for anything
I had a trailer fire last year. Good times. Took the fire department half an hour to get there, by that time the flames were 30 feet high, lost everything! 😅
This is why every truck driver needs to have a good working CB radio in their truck. It can be used as a tool to talk with other drivers when bored or in this case, warn other drivers of what's going on ahead. Too many drivers out there nowadays don't even have one in their truck. I can't tell you how many times my CB has saved me while out on the road. Good on you for stepping up and helping out any way you could. Not many drivers now would even stop. They'd just keep going and take a video of it with their phone while driving by.
Man, I wish I can go do something like that. I love to travel an be a trucker, It's always something I wanted to do an because it looks so fun an awesome! An that awesome for you to take your time to help someone in that situation. Have a wonderful day. God Bless You!

Do you have a reflective vest or something in your truck easy to get to for unfortunate circumstances like this? I hate how dangerous it is ): Sending love your way!!
Forwarding on a couple of ideas. 1 - Have a second vest that you “pair” over the top of your jacket (slightly dorky) so it’s always there. 2 - get some reflective stripes (not necessarily hi-vis) to strategically place (back, sleeves, etc). Not super obvious, but definitely better than nothing
Exactly... Have to cool the brakes down to prevent/stop the fire. ABC will work on the rubber once the brakes are cool enough to not ignite or reignite the rubber.
@@waynelandry9000 i'm thinking that's far more likely. if he was on the brakes, surely his truck brakes would go first as they do, being that the trailer brakes aren't as strong/the power favours the truck brakes over the trailer. For obvious reason :)
The world needs more happy and positive people like this young lady. Thanks for being a awesome person who cares and does the right thing when needed. Big respect.
I'm so glad that your channel has blown up so fast! My dad was an OTR long haul trucker for McElroy out of AL for a while, then drove for Advanced Auto out of NC. He passed away two years ago from brain cancer. Over the summer I would ride with my dad. I got to see a lot of cool things. I have been in EMS for the past four years but have wanted to be an OTR trucker. I have never seen a female do it but when I do, they aren't the nicest people. Thank you for posting videos about what you do on a daily basis and all of the cool things you've done. You've re-ignited the spark to be on the road again. You have such a genuine heart! I forgot it at home. I was very upset about it. That was my mistake.
Great to see a fellow trucker helping out another trucker in need!!! This is the way it should be !!! Good lookin out Shelby!!!!👍
My dog is Dakota too. Golden retriever though. It sure makes driving Gooder.
I miss my days OTR. Your ending on this video is what I remember trucking being like. People helped other people. Keep up the good work Truckeret. 🙂
This is why I carry two 20lb class D fire extinguishers. ABC extinguishers do absolutely nothing for a brake fire.
Exactly... Have to cool the brakes down to prevent/stop the fire. ABC will work on the rubber once the brakes are cool enough to not ignite or reignite the rubber.
Thats scary glad all of you are okay! That is what we all need is people helping each other out!
The driver must have been riding on those brakes.
You need to wear some reflective vest.
Glad no one was hurt.
or a brake pod could of locked up
@@waynelandry9000 i'm thinking that's far more likely. if he was on the brakes, surely his truck brakes would go first as they do, being that the trailer brakes aren't as strong/the power favours the truck brakes over the trailer. For obvious reason :)
Or a wheel bearing......i had one go on my rear trailer about 3 year's ago, burnt it to the ground.
@@charliewoodbury9961 Or that, that makes sense. Also, can't have been a very nice experience ay
@@jonnywilson9117 100% correct his drives would lite up first
The world needs more happy and positive people like this young lady. Thanks for being a awesome person who cares and does the right thing when needed. Big respect.
Nice video
You need to wear something reflective at night. 🙂
Totally agree. I wish shed wear a vest driving at all times
gran fan
Be safe out there! xx
Also I hope the driver unhooked his tractor to save it!
Thanks for helping the world!
Why is he called just “the camera guy” jw
