    As a US citizen I am jealous of the healthcare system. It's amazing to me that they perform such procedures right on the accident scene.

      I was thinking the same. I've never seen such advanced medical care done on the side of the road here in the States. They're practically ready to go right into surgery when they get to the hospital in the UK.

    That ankle reduction was absolutely amazing. It’s extremely difficult to reduce an intense open fracture like that because it’s possible you could cause more trauma but he did it so swiftly and with so much confidence 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

    My Dad survived falling thru 3 floors in an involved structure fire (he was a FF/EMT-P) and landed on his Scott Air Pak! OUCH! He lived and worked another 17 years doing this job we all love so much!💓🚑🚒

    Wow this was a heavy episode. Some of the most severe injuries all on one video. I was holding my breath the whole time. I'm so glad they are all okay. But so sad for the poor lady who had no idea while she was gone that she had just lost her husband. :(

    I'm a US citizen n I LOVE how kind n caring these doctors n paramedics are. In every episode I've seen, each n every one is so kind n loving. Our doctors could learn some things from you guys. I've noticed that just about everyone there is great. I'd love to live in the UK

    Aside from the very calm professionalism of all medical personnel, and stoic patients the countryside is amazing. Beautiful and green even in winter.
    And the drystone walls/fences that have stood longer than any living memory.
    I really enjoy these episodes.

      I have no idea why as I was born in the U.S. and I've never even traveled overseas but I'm obsessed with the UK... esp England. It's my neurodivergent obsession that I've always had. Idk what it is but it's definitely on my bucket list to spend at least a month (or whatever the max is for a foreigner) traveling the country, Wales, Scotland, and Ireland/Northern Ireland. One day hopefully.

      I felt the same way until someone told me that it wouldn’t be viable because ambulance rides are abt the same … the money would be better used in outfitting the ambulances with Drs or special paramedics… but I still think it’s a good idea…

    I was happy that everyone was alright, especially Ethan with his brain injury. I felt so bad when they had to straighten out the little girls leg oh my goodness for scream. She’s a tough little cookie that one and I’m so glad.🥰🥰
    I can’t imagine what that poor woman feels like going up to her home and seeing how it was a burnt ruin, and then finding out her husband had passed away as well. What a double shock that would be.
    👏🏻👏🏻 Thank you to all the great doctors, pilot, police fireman, and paramedics who make sure that the patient arrives safely at the hospitals that will help them there on the road to recovery!!🩷

      @@1jazzyphaelol ok it is an irrefutable and long standing, very safe part of advanced medical care, not “nonsense” 🙄😵‍💫 just because you opt out of it (as is absolutely your right to do) let’s not pretend that that’s not *exactly* what you’re doing- electing to personally not receive that proven and often requisite part of advanced medical care. If you expect other people to respect you and that individual personal choice not to do so, you have an inherent obligation to respect everyone else’s reasonable right to decide to receive that medical care for themselves (and specifically in the context of life saving emergencies.)

      Pigs can become agressive in some situations. They were calling the pigs over away from his location.

      They were keeping the pigs away from the accident scene? Pigs can become aggressive if they’re scared and even if they don’t become aggressive they are curious animals, and would most likely come over to have a look of what’s happening and may trample equipment or even the victim. Also pigs will scream and make noise in most situations.

      But he did survive with the expertise of the doctors and nurses that handled his case. they say at times but the blood transfusions actually add problems to a surgery.

    It's unfortunate, but if I had a fracture that back, yeah. Just do it. Put it back, quick. I'll scream a lot, but it's better than losing my foot.
    The JW guy? Meh. If he doesn't want the blood, don't give it to him. Save it for people who actually care about their lives.

      I've been one of Jehovah's Witnesses since '85 and a nurse since '88.

      I was raised one. No longer antics I the religion I will give witnesses credit for no blood. Because of them doctors were forced to learn news ways to treat them. They have blood centrifuge and so much more. I still refuse to take blood. Freaking nasty.

      I am a blood donnor, I get messages every time my blood saves a life and even though it's a nice thing that it did save a life it's also terrifying and depressing that they have such great need, i have donated 6 times so far and each time got notified not a week or two later it was already used so it goes to show how much they need it, and don't understand these zealots, your blood is extensively checked before it is used on a person, do they think they just get blood from a random person without testing and inject it in you willy nilly,

      @@DarkLumiya that isn't even a main issue but in fact could be a issue for people that just have a random concern about the practise. Did you know there are around 300 things that could be checked when cross matching blood but only 8 or so are routinely checked.

    Every person I have seen with osteogenesis inperfecta are unbelievably strong and brave. Although this girls break is a bad one, she coped fat better than a grown man. I wish no child would have to endure such pain. We should all get immunity until at least 12 years old. Plus they don’t need to know that they make us adults look like whinny babies in comparison to them lol

      @@IamSweetCharlotte Generally it's not about whether the pilot can, it's about risk. Visibility is a big deal, and even if the pilot can fly through the weather they'd rather not risk the helicopter and personnel.

      @@bower31 the point is, that worse weather are prone to happen here in Scandinavia, especially in the northern parts.. Saving a life is still the main priority, and the pilots here are more prone to worse weather conditions, than what's seemingly considered bad in the UK.. It would be good training..

      I mean in certain conditions it’s just plain unsafe to fly, no matter what training you have. There are many instances here in Scandinavia when helicopter ambulances will not fly.

    I'm jealous, in my experience they don't even give you pain meds until you get to the hospital here in the States. Lol I had a kidney stone send me by ambulance (literally thought I was dying) and they said I couldn't have pain medicine until I got to the ER. What they really meant was "until we get your insurance info" LOL 😆 We also have air rescue but not an air ambulance that works in this manner. This is all brilliant stuff here. 👏 oh, I also once had to wait for 3hrs throwing up and in severe abdominal pain in the ER because the doctor has to authorize morphine and he was too busy to do that. So I was laying in a bed in the ER vomiting with abdominal pain and they forgot me until they realized they should probably check that out and give me anti-vomiting and pain meds. 🙃

    People are people. Your beliefs aren’t the beliefs. As long as it involves only them it no ones business. If he doesn’t want blood the doesn’t. If that kills him that’s his choice to make. He isn’t hurting you, he can do with himself what he wants. Respect others as you would like to be respected. Easy.

      No, not easy. He is 17 years old. He's likely grown up obeying his parents and following their beliefs, because that's what children do. Yes he's 17, but how many teenagers really have a frame of reference for what the consequences of a choice like "no donor blood pls" could mean?

They also claimed serveral times that the world is going under since the 19th century. Its never happend. Theyr totaly brainwashed. Its not his own decision its the Sect leaders who says you cant have blood transfusions. it is estimated that about 1,000 Jehovahs Wittneses dies each year through abstaining from blood transfusions. This boy has probably been born in to Jehovash they fear fod thats why manny wont leave. According to JW theyr the only ones who goes to heaven, the rest of us will die.

    Wow..falling directly into pig..muck is the polite word. Not good, not my first choice. Might prefer it to a cactus nursery though. I can see the difference in the series where they have a full doctor on board vs just the paramedics..treatment is more decisive and quick w the doctors, and they can administer much stronger drugs immediately. Feel bad for the pilots..the day they turn 60, they are drummed out of their job. I wish we could convince the right wing in America that “For profit” medicine is immoral, disgusting, and predatory. I’m on disability, over 60 on Medicare, and they still, still deduct over 230 dollars from my check for “health insurance.” All the prices are well over inflated, individual prescription pills can cost in the hundreds of dollars when they cost Pennie’s to produce..it’s just..so evil. Ugh..fire! I had an attic fire..turns out homeowner's insurance is a big disgusting racket too, along with the restoration services.
