this snapdragon x wouldn't exist if they hadn't bought Nuvia which was apple backbone designed chip, so they kinda got a headstart on matching Apple's M2 chipset, cause the chip is basically an m2 modified tech from Nuvia but hey now you're embracing it cool,
I’m very skeptical about its numbers….seems too good to be true…it will need all that extra power to make up for the lack of efficiency from windows and software running on it ….🤓
AI represents Microsoft's last best chance to return to being perceived as a cutting edge technology company. For the last twenty years or so, Microsoft has been like a toilet paper company. They have allowed the PC community to continue to reliably wipe its ass with the only real advancement being on the order of scents and colors. The emergence of LLM AI has appeared on the scene suddenly, and has advanced dramatically. This is Microsoft's BIG test to see whether or not a toilet paper company can return to being the cutting edge technology company it once was. Just like during the emergence of the Internet decades ago, AI is Microsoft's game to lose. Their tight connections to Open AI combined with a growing level of microprocessor agnosticism places them in a unique position that even Apple just might not be able to horn in on.
I sure hope they'll make a desktop CPU. I couldn't care less about tiny and weak laptops I honestly can't understand hype about it coming from professionals. What is so attractive about weak hardware and tiny keyboards and monitors? Not cool even for coding, let alone anything visual.
@@jon4lakers yup, high end laptops for pros in general make next to no sense. Tiny monitors, tiny keyboards and performance never on par with desktops.
The bottleneck is Windows, Microsoft NEEDS to make windows 12 ARM native possible and support a software emulation layer like apple’s Rosetta or else things will never take off
Never gonna happen. They can’t even clean up their menus what makes you think they can do anything of real meaning like make the operating system have native support for a different architecture?
Snapdragon X Elite 🔥♥️💪
The most elite.
I want SD in a mini pc dammit.
When will this release and for what brands

this is what happened when you don't know anything
Does this CPU need the same treatment as when Apples M chips came out? Would devs need to convert their programs to work for the snapdragon X?
Windows already has x64 to ARM translation layer since Win 10. All existing applications should run properly without recompilation.
They should just work via emulation.
What he said.
Since developer are working on apple arm based software so it will be easier for them to adapt to windows arm so there is no need to worry
Where is the laptop?
Ai it’s so wild and it’s only the beginning
It’s nuts.
#a2d PC build needed for this..if not possible please tell us why
Nice video Jon!
Appreciate you Josh. How have you been?
@@jon4lakersNot bad, enjoying my iPhone 15 Pro Max. Having the Pro Motion Display is nice!
but can it support linux out of the box?
Yayyyy!!!! An x elite laptop
All it needs is an elite operating system 🙂
@@aelaan12 what you talking about windows is way better than mac os
Microsoft seems committed.
Both good for different users.
Snapdragon X Elite beat Apple M2
Indeed. At some benchmarks.

I don’t know what you’re on. No other OS even comes close in things like gaming.
I have used all the OS out there, overall windows is the best among all.
they need to target low and mid range laptops or they are going to struggle with adoption
It isn't built on 3nm. Wait for 2025 version . Most softwares aren't compiled for arm anyway. Stick with amd in 2024 unless they lower price by a lot.
Windows 10 added arm translation layer. Windows 11 will improve on this with the June update especially made for x-elite processors.
Snapdragon X elite beat apple M3
I don’t believe benchmarks against M3 are out yet.

Thanks.
I tried Windows on Arm, and it's garbage, so I have zero interest in a Snapdragon based laptop. Only Intel or AMD
Give it time. Microsoft seems committed.
@@jon4lakersWe've given them over ten years. The surface RT launched in 2012 and the MS tech stack for ARM is still an unoptimized, fragmented mess.
Difference is Microsoft is fighting for survival this time.
You are too early the developers isn't working on it yet is like a chicken or egg situation

I dunno. Satya was on video there and he pledged support.
