Funny story : I'm 18 weeks pregnant. At my first midwife appointment she asked me about my diet. I mentioned i was vegan. She asked if i was a proper vegan. I said yes. She said 'Brilliant, that means i don't have to give you a long list of foods to avoid'
Zahria 269 Congratulations Zahria!!💕
Zahria 269 ahahah that's amazing! And congratulations!
how lucky you are with your doctor!!! When i was prgnant i've been vegetarian several years ago, and my doctor said that i'm gonna kill my child...
Zahria 269 I wish you all the best ♡
Congratulations 😍
I am pregnant with TWINS right now...
No preeclampsia, no anemia, and no gestational diabetes 🤗👍🏼
And you are also so frigging beautiful and lean! love it
That Vegan Mom your little beans are beautiful, congratulations :) peace.✌🏻
That Vegan Mom thanks for the work you do! more women need to see the fear mongering done by industry is exactly that- "fear mongering". amazing family and amazing message!
+That Vegan Mom how's your twins doing?
Andrade Anita well I had 2 healthy Vegan pregnancies so, not a miracle. My kids are now 11 & 16. Healthier than most kids and more compassionate than ALL of their peers
I had been tethering on the edge of going vegan for years now- after watching your videos for a few weeks now, I've finally gone vegan! Today is my 8th day, it's not much but its a start! keep doing what you're doing, Mic!
Update: Tomorrow is my 1 year vegan anniversary! This has been the best decision in my life! Thanks Mic & thank you for everyone who liked and replied with helpful tips and encouraging words!!
awesome; keep it up! 👍☺
Becka Try fermenting foods. Making tempeh is really fun.
Becka I don't know you but I am proud of you! That is awesome you are saving so many animals and the planet ♥️
Becka That's awesome!
Just to let you know you can still call yourself vegan and keeping being vegan even if you eat an animal product every here and there due to a craving or by accident. there are no hard lines, it takes time to fully avoid animal products, esp. in this culture.
I almost had a full vegan pregnancy back in 1990 since I could not hold anything down for 8 months. To my surprise that baby is now a vegan adult.
Thats realllly interesting
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I have an 8 month old baby girl and a 2 year old girl toddler. I wasn't vegan for the first pregnancy and had gestational diabetes and my baby was only 6.11lbs even though I gained 35lbs total. With my second pregnancy my baby was 8.7lbs and I only gained 17 lbs and was vegan. I got a lot of unwanted comments and "concerns" about my choice to be vegan while pregnant and raise my kids vegan but people will try to criticize your parenting skills no matter what you do. I'm happy with my choices. Have been a vegan now for 1.5 years and my daughters are vegan as well.
Carlos Trevino No I did not have gd the second time. Once I cut out all animal products, it went away. I was also eating a very healthy diet with only coconut sugar and and no processed foods. I ate a lot of rice and beans, bananas, quinoa and raw vegetables.
I left a comment about this on your last pregnancy video. My first pregnancy I was on a standard western diet, including the "nourishing traditions diet second trimester. Had swollen feet throughout, excessive weight gain, difficulty getting around, and ended up having my little boy a week overdue via c-section due to failure to descend. This last pregnancy I felt normal up until my final week when I could not continue to work (I'm a massage therapist btw). I gave birth naturally ON MY DUE DATE, had a vaginal delivery, felt like I was back to normal in about a week, went back to work after 3 weeks, oh and to top it all off my milk production enabled me to store enough extra breastmilk to fill a quarter of my entire freezer. Last pregnancy it took so long to come in my little boy began to develop jaundice, I had to supplement right from the beginning and I dried up after a few months
The second pregnancy you were doing vegan diet? So hows your kid now?
I'm binge watching all you're videos right now, and it's fucking amazing. You're doing an awesome job keep it up.
I got so upset at the hospital I delivered in, because I'm vegan and I am raising my babies vegan. So, at the hospital right after my baby was born they took him to the nursery and immediately bottle fed him cow milk formula without even consulting me about it first. I was able to breastfeed, but they didn't even give me the chance, and kept my baby in the nursery for 24 hours, so I didn't even get to spend time with him or feed him properly for the first 24 hours of life. The nurses kept saying, "well he needs to eat. This cow milk formula is all we have" but they didn't even let me breastfeed. I've never felt so disrespected in my entire life. My baby is now 4 months old and he breast feeds and supplements sometimes with soy formula. I wish I could go back to that hospital and yell at them for abusing my rights and freedoms, and for not caring about my babies health. This just shows people how uneducated they truly are about how veganism is healthy, or else they would never have gone and done this in the first place.
wow... that's horrible! like.. why?! i'm really mind-blown rn...
i understand your anger (i'd be upset too) and i'm sorry that you experienced that.
but so great to hear that you and your child are vegan - so awesome! :-)
SaratoninAvalanche18 Did they do it because they thought he was hungry? Or was his blood sugar low? That happened to my daughter and I had no choice but to give her formula (after they put her on an emergency IV to stabilize her blood sugar). They only allowed me to breastfeed for 10 mins then I had to feed her formula to keep her blood sugar up. Once she was better (it took a week) and she could regulate her own blood sugar herself, we took her home and I have exclusively breastfed her ever since.
SaratoninAvalanche18 that's why I was a closeted vegan or vegetarian(when I was younger) what I eat and how I care for my family is my business. And I'm so sorry you had to go through that. It kills me that they would do something like that but they'll respect every other mother.
SaratoninAvalanche18 it never fails to amaze me how ignorant some people are and are able to completely disregard someone else's beliefs just because they're different. I'm so sorry you had to go through that, knowing the complications with milk both ethically and health wise :(
There was no reason for him to be supplemented with formula. They even went as far as to forget to feed him while he was in the nursery, which made his blood sugars drop and they made us stay an extra 24 hours because of it. It was terrible. I was served toast for the entire time I was there. Plain toast and a soy milk carton was all they had that was vegan lol 😂
When we finally got to go home my sister was like, "that's what you get for being vegan. You make everything difficult.".... lol one day it will be the society norm to be vegan and then people won't be so condescending
My wife thrived during her Vegan pregnancy. Her blood work was off the charts good, and now our 1-year son is thriving as a Vegan. We were/are HCLF, WFPB.
David López-Kopp all these comments make me so happy that I’m a vegan mommy to be
What's WFPB?
@@frenchlearner19 whole foods plant based
@@thelifeofelvis5962 Thanks!
Thats goals! Ive been considering this but HCLF? Will the baby not need lots of healthy fats from nuts, seeds and avocados etc to aid its healthy foetal growth and development??
I became vegan 5 months before I got pregnant. My son is 7.5 months old and he is extremely healthy. I never had gestational diabetes or any other issues. He was born at 39.5 weeks gestation, 7lbs 13oz. He's now huge and perfectly healthy still, 22lbs now. He's in 12month clothes already. I also breastfeed him and am still vegan, he also eats some vegan solids. I
Also I'll add that my doctor often commented how lucky I was to have a "naturally low blood pressure". Actually, I had borderline high blood pressure before veganism and both my parents have high blood pressure. I have low blood pressure because of veganism, not genetics.
the wife being vegan and raising a child vegan is fucking life goals
I'm going to have to leave my girlfriend because she wont do it, she loves meat
infectious0 Good on you. Get someone that is compatible with you.
Donald Trump ethics buddy. ethics.
+Donald Trump Where's the WALL???
That's what I thought. gtfo.
How about making the chance they will get cancer in the first place smaller?
Harry Potter book collection on her bookshelf.... I trust her
She also got medicinal books. You failed to mention
Thank you so much for making this. A lot of people say they respect me for going vegan but then those same people turn around and freak out when i say i'll be vegan during pregnancy and raise my kids vegan
Get your kids enough b12 and protein, try gardein products for replacement of meat, and give them half a 1000mg b12 pill twice a week. Give them powdered vitamins mixed with applesauce and make sure the vitamins have zinc and magnesium. Also give them omega 3 fatty acids. Also d3 and folate.
rainingtrees
that is fucking the way to go
my mom ate vegan and raised me vegan too
they will be healthier and way smarter - there are actually studies on this
they will automatically have huge advantage in every part of life
weather its sports or science
Gotta Go Fast The apple sauce is a great idea. Thanks for that. I usually put it in smoothies but that great, thanks.
My pleasure ^^
lol ask them why they would damage their children by feeding them carcinogens, cholesterol, igf1 etc.
I was so lucky to have a midwife who was vegan but she was so weird about it. Any advice she gave me was all in a whisper as if she was about to lose her job from being encouraging not to consume animal products.
MsAusarian she probably could have lost her job depending on who dictates your care (normally depends your insurance company). My friend had to have a procedure and instead of putting preventative measures so she wouldn't have to go through all that pain again she was back not even a month after recovering. She was furious but her dad was used to it since everyone takes advantage of government money in anyway they can(he's a vet)
MsAusarian I am a practice nurse and see ppl with chronic disease every day. I had serous health issues 18 months ago so finally decided to go fully vegan. When I am talking to patients I used to whisper and and say things like "off the record.... you should really ditch the animal products..." I don't now, but proudly say " I was really unwell and have spent the last year researching diet. I have now changed to a fully plant based diet and, along the way, discovered how much a poor diet causes ill health and how a plant based diet can actually massively improve your (diabetes/heart disease or whatever they have)". I find they are much more receptive to that. It's ridiculous that us vegan health professionals have to feel like this...
Wow. This is really encouragin. We need more health professionals like you. Because especially when your new at it, we want to know that we were doing things correctly. We just wanted to be reassured without the lecture. Thank you for standing proud.
I'm a simple man. I see an upload from Mic the Vegan, I watch and give a thumbs-up.
I like you, Stephen.
Also have vegan twins, I kept my placentas (there where two) for encapsulation. The girl who encapsulated my placentas said they smelled so much better then other placentas she's treated and that they dried in 6 hours instead of the usually 16-48. She was stunned at how quickly they dried.
30 weeks into a vegan pregnancy and everything is 👍🌈
Congrats :)
Please kindly tell me how was your pregnancy and baby weight when born, please
@@joyi9472 my son was 7 lbs 10 and pregnancy was 👌
Another vegan baby due on the 8th September 2021 also fine and I think she’s quite big as I feel HUGE 😅
@@imvoimchen5048 He is awesome. Very clever, talks in full sentences since 1.5yrs, very healthy and strong never been sick 👌👍
She was big. 8lb 14oz
great vid. I have a vegan baby pregnancy etc and I have to say never be ashamed to say you had a vegan pregnancy and a vegan baby. it's a great advert for veganism when people see superior babies and children who are vegan.
😅😅😅😅😅 so freaking sick
Re-Wording: Is avoiding foods proven to give you cancer and shorten your life safe when pregnant?
Tofu Powered avoiding foods is definitely proven to make you starve.
@@xFuzzyLove vegans still eat. just no animal products
I am starting to wonder what the hidden agenda is with promoting carcinogenic foods and not promoting a healthy vegan plant based diet. Is this a population control motive?
Smallville Boyd Big industries pay and manipulate people to maintain their products and sales. Diary, egg, and meat industries of course.
Smallville Boyd $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ is the motive, I think the fast food industry has the most money and there fore the most influence while organic and vegan industries have the least cash and lowest level of influence.
Smallville Boyd ya. I think so. It's what keeps me calm when I get mad at a non-vegan person. It's fucked up but whatever lol
Because big ag and big pharma's control the governments.
The Hidden agenda is $$$ of course. There is no Money in Healthy living.
Keeping people sick feeds the Machine.
Monetary system is the plague of the world.
hahhaha your aunt mildred impersonation was perfect!! You should impersonations more often!!
Here's the thing with being pregnant, vegan or not, people will feel like you're always doing something wrong. Something about bringing a child into the world or raising that child makes people act like they know so much more than you. It's a problem.
Jenni Lee yeah , we need to trust ourselves
Ugh so true! The mom-shaming game is real...
I’m so happy to hear this. I’m not pregnant yet, but I’m vegan since I was 16 and I want to keep it that way.
I've been vegan since February and your videos helped me make the best decision thus far in terms of health. I've lost 13 lbs so far my son and husband love my plant-based cooking! It's safe to say I'm not going back to animal products, thanks for the videos Mic!
Rahc that's awesome 👏🏽
MariaLyn thanks!
Rahc what kinda foods are you eating? Like what does a normal day of meals look like for you? Cause Im vegan and I have gained weight. Very upsetting
Lana Golightly I've been also controlling my portions, went on a 1200 calorie a day restriction, and kept track of my calorie intake on MyFitnesPal. I get recipes from a blog called Minimalist Baker. Her recipes are so simple.
I gained weight to when I first went vegan. I got a book called "Eat fat get thin" and diligently fallowed the recipes of the vegan version. After three months I felt like crap and spent most of the time sleeping, my face was breaking out and I practically had to wash my hair twice a day it was so greasy. But the worst part was that at five months I got my bloodwork done like the author suggested, only instead of everything being awesome after five months of eating "healthy" olive oil and coconut oil and not eating carbs and suger and drinking disgusting bulletproof coffee I was worse off then before. My triglycerides were at 195 and my HDL and LDL ratios were bad. My Dr said that I might have fatty liver and insulin resistance because my AST was double the safe limit.
So I went on the internet and found a video from Highcarbhannah about her 70lb weight loss. She talked about the Starch solution book by a vegan Dr. I did the diet for three months and went from 173lbs to 157lbs I went back for another blood test and my triglycerides had dropped to 107 and my liver enzymes were back in the normal range. I eat the recipes from the starch solution book or stuff from Highcarbhannahs' recipe videos. You should give them a try :)
I just had twins at home, with several midwives, it was perfect, I took them to 40 weeks and they were pretty big for twins! I've had multiple perfect vegan pregnancies!
lol I've been vegan for a few years & I'm 37 weeks pregnant with my second child. I have yet to have someone criticize me for being vegan. My doctor, family & nurses never had anything bad to say because they can see physically how healthy I am & my babies are.
Shyla Saunders same. I'm 30 weeks and no one shows concern over the fact I'm vegan.
My last baby was born 10lbs1oz as I ate too much dairy chocolate (wispa gold😣)
This time round I am hopeful that this baby will be a better weight so I can deliver naturally as I needed a c.section last time
Holly Adamou That's a big baby, well I hope you're able to deliver naturally like you wish to. A lot of people are understanding that veganism is not dangerous to someone's health. It seems like it's mostly people on the internet that make a huge deal, I have yet to have someone imply being vegan isn't healthy to my face.
I had an argument with my parents yesterday about me being a Vegan. They respect my change and I respect there eating diet , but last week they went for a doctor check up for my sister and my sister asked the doctor what his thoughts are on veganism. He said he doesn't recommend it and my mom is using his word as a way to prove that veganism isn't all that good and that something will happen to me if I continue. So we were talking about it yesterday and my mom kept insisting that the doctor said it so it MUST be true. I told her to watch videos about Veganism with me so I can prove it to her and my dad , but my mom doesn't want to because for no apparent reason because it doesn't support her biased views. My dad said and I quote : "How do you know that these people aren't lying and putting fake stuff out there in the internet" There excuse is that because there are a lies out there in the internet , that must mean the facts on a Vegan lifestyle must be sugar coated or filled with fake facts. So apparently according to them; the debates, the websites, the people who are seeing results . ARE NOT REAL AND COULD BE LYING TO ME. They also said that I won't be man enough for a woman if dropped meat because a plant based diet will mess me up somehow downstairs, even though I've done my research on Veganism. They also said I'd be missing out on certain nutrients and stuff and that I'd be deficient, despite the fact that I've seen the evidence that those are all lies. Lastly my dad said I was just exaggerating by dropping all animal products entirely. I can't believe my own parents deny the proof and evidence out there because one doctor said it wasn't good. I also told them you go to a doctor for MEDICAL ADVICE, and you go to a nutritionist/dietician for NUTRITION advice , but noooo they don't want to learn anything that goes against their beliefs. Talk about biased huh? I think they see veganism as a fad diet and not a lifestyle . I also pointed out that it's cheaper going vegan and there excuse was that "vegetables can contain contamination because the way they process everything". Well there's my little rant so I wish y'all have a good one
Gosh... I hope they understand you now...
I hope they have come around bh now and you stayed strong on your beliefs. Hugs. 💚🌍🌿❤
Great video. Answered all my questions. Keep up the good work 👍
Thank you! Wonderful timing! I love your videos thank you so much for making this!
GREAT video Mic!! I'm totally sharing this. You have done a service to all those pregnant vegan mommies and daddies out there. Some of that research on the arterial health of toddlers and fetuses is astounding. Thank you thank you!
Thank you so much for summarising & sharing this.
Great job on all your videos! My wife and I have been vegan for 5 years now, and we have two gorgeous happy little girls! Both our girls were safely naturally born in hospitals without any injection of any sort needed. No worry whatsoever during pregnancy. All of us are vegan and check our blood regularly. No protein deficiency, no B12 deficiency, no anything deficiency for any of us.
Thank you for this video! I'm a newbie vegan and in talks with my husband about starting a family. This topic has been weighing heavy with me. I love your videos and how much research you put into them. Thank you!
32 weeks vegan pregnant mama-to-be here! ....So anyway, as I was watching this video, the baby was kicking and dancing like crazy. She must approve of this content! ;-)
P.S. I have been very lucky. My midwife, pediatrician, friends, family, partner, and partner's family (none of whom are vegan) are all on board with me being vegan and raising my child vegan until at least age 5. So, not everyone is an ignorant moron. Yay for that!
This video really helped me. I’m a lot more comfortable starting my family now. Thank you for your amazing content and getting this information out there for us.
Your videos are top quality now Mic, you've come so far from when you started. Nice work!
I got so excited when I saw this! I've been wanted to find more info on healthy vegan pregnancies
Oh by the way, the negative thing for me is that my son developed ricketts which of course we solved in a vegan way. But I am mentioning it to advise mums, TAKE YOUR VITAMIN D
MsAusarian
well thats a thing for ALL moms ...its a sun issue nothing else
MsAusarian vitamin D2**
Ben Dover people who work indoors all day dont have that option.
You can spend every waking minute outside and it still won't make a difference if you live in a climate where there is limited sunlight. I live in Ireland and I could become dangerously deficient in vitamin D if I didn't take a daily supplement.
My son (who I had before I was vegan) developed rickets. I think it's just important for mom's in general to make sure they take vitamin D, b12 and DHA during pregnancy.
Pregnant woman are advised not to eat raw meat, fish, milk and cheese. Folic acid levels are not sufficiënt on a non-vegan diet. Children under the age of 1 shouldn't eat honey.
If your animal based diet isn't good for your baby, then why would it be good enough for you?
Veggie Queen not a logical question. Many things are not correct for a developing organism that are perfectly fine for an adult.
Mark O'Leary We survive, but do not thrive on eating animals. Where it is a threat for the development of a baby, we as adults develop various diseases.
Veggie Queen my reply to your comment was based on a too-quick reading. I missed the party where you said "animal based." We agree. Please disregard. Thanks.
I already found the combination of your avatar and your reply odd. ;) Great we agree. :)
Mic, I just love you!!! Thanks for making these amazing videos!!!!
THANK YOU for making this video!!
I got pretty excited when I saw all the Adventist health studies here (I'm Adventist, nearly-vegan, and pregnant)! It was through the Adventists that I found out about the health benefits of this lifestyle :) Thanks for this video!
Thanks Mic for this excellent video! I am 8 months pregnant on a plant-based diet and so far everything has been textbook perfect with blood levels where they should be, I am not suffering from any swollen hands or feet, and I have loads of energy all the time! Super helpful to have your scientific notes to back it up as well, since I occasionally get questions about the "dangers" of a vegan pregnancy..! Keep 'em coming!
Hey Mike! Can you do a vid on intermittent fasting and long time fasting? Thanks! Keep up the great work you are doing on your channel, you do deliver great quality videos.
I hope one day eating meat during pregnancy will be seen as bad as smoking during the same. "Oh my gosh, are you eating that steak and you're pregnant?? Don't you know is bad for your baby?" "Yeah I know but I just can't resist, I swear this is the last one"
Most of the people in this world still thinks that meat and dairy "is not so bad and unhealthy" The road is still long!
Angelica Brioschi I wish people will someday lock up idiots like you
Best channel hands down. Any thoughts on making a video to any China Study critiques?
your awesome thank you so much for all this great information!! 😀
youre only at a thousand bucks on patreon? i think you are going to go much much further! you are very charismatic, and have an excellent speaking voice, good presentation and make your points very concisely. keep up your good work :)
Great stuff, Mic! 🌱You are particularly funny in this video 😄
Thanks so much for this info, Mic! I'm 17 weeks pregnant and although I have been vegan for nearly 8years, ensuring I'm meeting all of my nutrient needs as a pregnant mama has taken some time to research. Thanks for making a comprehensive video making me feel even better for my dietary choices while pregnant!
Mic when's the book coming out? Can't wait!! :D
love ya dude. keep up the good work:)
Wow, thank you for making this video.
Love you dude. You've been my inspiration through my short three-month vegan journey.
you're the hero we didn't know we needed. thank you so much for making these videos.
I've wondered about this topic, but never cared enough to do the research (I don't want kids, so doesn't matter). Thanks for doing it for me!!
Another great video!
Yes! Thank you Mic! This has been my most significant topic in vegetarian/veganism. Thanks for another great video :)
Great video Mic! Can you do a 'review' on What the Health. Pretty please!
Love this great info. Just curious about how you filmed this, cause I really like your approach. Did you ask her to record her filming and then send you the file? what program did you use? Thank youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!
Great video Mike!
I'm in the 2nd trimester of my vegan pregnancy and so far baby & I have stellar health. :) I'm also part of the Vegan Pregnancy and Parenting group on Facebook which I highly recommend for other vegan parents (and future parents) who are seeking a loving and supportive environment. It's one of my favorite groups on Facebook, hands down.
Brilliant information, I like the humourish bits too =P
Thank you so much Mic the Vegan....
Did anyone else notice the full series of Harry Potter on the doctor's shelf? It was like her diplomas, super thick medicine related encyclopaedias and the 7 HP books + a magic wand. Priorities! Way to go :)
The Pure Doctor If you let me ask a super personal question: whose wand do you own? 😅
wow super unexpected! i would have guessed Hermione, but then apparently you are way cooler than that! :D
This was good, I would have really loved if you touched on the iron topic though as well cause I get so much shit about it!! My current and last pregnancy as a vegan I have had pretty low iron (though I know many meat eating women who've had the same issue), I've struggled with iron absorption my whole life though so I don't necessarily link it to being vegan - but every doctor/midwife I see gives me a really hard time about it.
Vet helpful Video, thank you!
super great! thank you!
I love you! I'm so grateful for your information! I actually became vegan 3 weeks ago to better my health which I also plan on becoming pregnant within a year. This was very reassuring! There's no excuses for me to turn back❤️ Thank you 😊
Could you do a video about the frost family ? Monami Frost ? A couple channels like to attack her vegan lifestyle. Sometimes I think there’s too much fruit vs veggies in her diet but this is just a suggestion. I have love for you, her and her family.
this is so cool to hear! i dont think i ever want to have kids but this is something i've thought about a lot if i were to have a baby naturally and it's so reassuring to hear that its this safe and if anything safer! i really should have figured that from the start, non-vegans really get to you with shaming your diet tho that it had me messed up hahaha
You're doing so much incredible work for the vegan movement man 😊💪🏻 you're inspiring 🌱🏋
Hi Mic, I believe veganism would go hand to hand with a Natural Law Resource Based Economy. I don't know you ever heard of it but it's worth a look if you ever get the time.
Love your videos btw. You bring a much needed science take on veganism and admirable reasoning to the congnitive dissonace that the meat/dairy industries have created.
You are an inspiration to me as you focus on the science and not on the drama!
I just found out I was pregnant two days ago, this is my first pregnancy ever.
Alpha Wolf Doggo How are you doing? :)
Hey, me too. How are you? I hope you are fine. Is your Baby already born?
This video was so awesome, thank you!! I will check out Miranda on her new site, she really knows her stuff! 😄 I also loved seeing her Harry Potter series on the shelf 😁😉👍🥑🍋🍎
This is AWESOME! Question though: Vegan women - have you noticed a difference during your pregnancy with morning sickness? Do you feel like you have less morning sickness while eating a plant based diet?
So insightful
Vegan for 6 years, I maintained vegan while pregnant and my Midwife loved it. I nursed my 15 month old exclusively for the 1st year, and she still gets her momma milk when she wants it. She is perfectly healthy! I had no issues while pregnant, no clogged ducts when nursing, and my daughter has no issues.
I also attribute my vegan diet to being able to get pregnant. I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome at 18 and shouldn't have been able to get pregnant naturally.
my prenatal has folate vs folic acid actually. Its good because due to morning sickness I had weeks where I could barely eat and even lost weight.
Thank God for this video. You rock.
It's terrible that most people think cows milk and meat, eggs are healthy. Whenever they ask me i always explain and show videos of how unhealthy it is, but most people's reactions is that it is my opinion and that they won't change. Very shocking. Delivering my vegan baby in December in hospital. My doctor is absolutely fine with my vegan pregnancy, she just did blood tests if the B 12 was good, iron test etc. all is fine. She did sent me to a hospital dietitian, who was very concerned if I got enough calcium and protein and that I would be deficient soon. I watched enough Michael Greger videos and educated myself to know that there has never been a medical case of both calcium and protein deficiency (no, osteoporosis is not a calcium deficiency disease). Beans and greens and a whole food diet is healthy for me and the baby, pregnant woman should have no doubt at all! Just educate yourself about the vitamins and minerals and that you have a sufficient vegan diet for your baby.
This was my no.1 worrie, should I stop being vegan once I decide to become pregnant. This video really helps a lot in terms of finding needed info. Thanx Mic, I am happy to know I can continue being vegan while pregnant. :) :) :)
liked and subscribed !
Hi Mic! I really love your videos! However, I would love for you to discuss a topic my dad told me, as you may know Alaskan people are one of the top animal eaters in the world my dad said a study showed that they did not have any heart problems or symptoms of atherosclerosis which comes from the mass amounts of cholesterol. Could you please make a video about the study? Because I was shocked to hear about their health despite their diet, do you think their was a missing factor or was it some other contribution? Thank you, I hope you are able to do some research!
Doesn't he already have a video about it debunking those claims? They most definitely have plenty of heart disease etc from having a diet heavy in animal products and they don't live very long.
Springfairy92 ok, thanks do you know the name of the video?
Very interesting video
Another great video! I just completed my vegan pregnancy with a beautiful vegan baby as the end result. I wish people could.... well a hundred things. Thank you for always putting great videos out there so people have the information they need to defend themselves.
Waist to hip ratio might be important--omega 3 possession is greater for more optimal ratios.
The Harry Potter books in the background of the woman he's interviewing make me so happy. :)
Thanks Mic!! You have helped me and my husband go vegan!! As well as our 3 kids!!
Hey, I am planning to start a family soon and also just making the transition to totally plant based. I've been mostly plant based for a few months but haven't stopped eating fish yet. This seems the hardest thing for me to give up as it was my favourite food. Any tips? Also my Accupunturist was keen for me to eat chicken bone stock to enrich or increase red blood cells for a healthy pregnancy. Sorry if I sound stupid! Anyway not doing that obvs but I am keep to get tips from plant based and herby folk.
Can you PLEASE make a vid about vegan adoption?
I already respected the doctor in this video, but then I saw she has the Harry Potter series on her bookshelf and that respect just shot up by like 1000%
Iodine supplementation is also important. Dr Michael Greger did a video on this. :)
Thank you for replying. :)
Thank you for posting this... I'm a vegan, but not a mom- I can't imagine how I'd handle myself if someone gave me lip about eating veggies, fruits, legumes and grains during a pregnancy. I'd ask them to show me studies that say those four food groups are not nutritious enough to carry a baby.... and then I'd walk away :)
Carly Pastore Mic drop them suckers. I also find it ridiculous that people believe the most nutritionally dense foods on the planet to be deficient for a baby.
The Aunt Mildred footage 😂 I appreciate that so much
great video
I'm pregnant and vegan and healthy as can be. All previous pregnancies of mine were high risk except this one and get to be active and feeling great.
113k? Way to go! Didn't realize you blew up.
yeah he gained like 20k subs in a month
Zy Garch I know he could probably reach 500k this year if he keeps growing like this
203k now! 🤗
Hi Mic,
Can you do a video explaining urine pH? I am taking some classes for nursing and in lecture this week I was taught that a healthy urine pH should be between 4.5 - 8.0. I know that vegans/vegetarians have a higher pH due to their diets (mine is 8.5) but I'm a little confused about the subject and worried that my pH may be too high. Is there anything I can do to lower my pH?
I noticed the sparks between these two
I ship it
Thank you for this video! My fiancée and I are both vegan and have entered the healthy weight range and had our blood pressure lower since becoming vegan 8 months ago! It's great to hear that when we are having a child I won't have to change my morals for a healthy baby :)
