I am sorry, but I am still laughing. I had almost the same thing yesterday but the whole tree had fallen over, access to the hive was through the stunted root ball of a 800mm diameter trunk. No saw and short arms... go figure!. Just managed to touch the bottom of the brood comb of the old hive, estimated hive was 2m in length through the hollow trunk. Oh well, there is always another day. I've done 5 swarms in 4 days. Keep up the good videos.
omg- if i ever get to Australia i'm spending a day fallowing you Mom and Dad and how you film all of these, then a day with your Nan- and cooking up a storm!

You could’ve gotten a power converter to plug into your vehicle to power vacuum.
great guy. very good at making the video. But talked a lot about the vacuum and fittings but nothing about collecting the bees using it.
What could you just put the hose coming out in the bottom of the the vacuum that way the bees wouldn't go through the motor that should eliminate one of your buckets
Hi BBM i was watching a guy from new zealand who had a really good vacum set up from a triton dust catcher he stopped making videos as it was taking to much of his time up sad really because he was really informative ,like he was a bee nut it was his life ill try to find his name might give you some more ideas good luck .

Hi Guys. how did your design work? having the bees in that ash can seems a extra step, as you'll need to relocate the girls post collection. also they'll be in the same container as all the crap you vacuum up. Have a look at Jeff Harcroft's design which incorporates a standard vacuum to standard bee boxes, and includes a buffer zone the bees can leave where all the crap stays. ua-cam.com/video/tV3mR39v6RA/v-deo.html Hope this helps.
