  • Thanks for the adventures, Kacey. It was harder than we thought to say goodbye. BUT, it's time for a new adventure. Quilters, crafters and RVers, we're going to need a ton of help and advise. Remember, the budget and rig (Cherokee Wolf Pup 16fq) are both VERY small. Though we don't always have time to respond, please know that we read EVERY SINGLE COMMENT. We appreciate all the help we can get, and we are literally taking notes. :O)

Sizes are up to you: cutting mat, ironing mat, rotary cutter, scissors, seam ripper, small iron, rulers, squares, straight pins, safety pins, threads, quilt clips, an idea journal, and fabric…..and don’t forget about storage boxes (I use plastic with locking handle lids) to keep everything all together and easy for you to get at when the mood strikes to do a bit of creating! 💕👵🏻

When I lived in a camper I made sure everything in it did double duty. All tables had to have storage drawers, the sofa was a hide-a-bed, my chest of drawers held the TV/DVD on top, etc. I also had a piano bench for a coffee table & filled the space under the lid with my sewing gear & patterns. My sewing machine sat on top when I sewed. A wooden kitchen chair held my press-n-cut pad & travel iron off to the right & a small foldable drying rack held my fabrics/strips in front of the piano bench. It was tight but definitely doable & I even managed to make a quilt that won a blue ribbon at our county fair! Hope that gives you some ideas to try in your camper.

Love your cozy camper! I would think a clear plastic tub to hold your quilting supplies would work. It's portable, so could move it whenever you needed to. It could serve as a foot rest or coffee table when sitting on the couch. Or, that space under the dinette bench would work, too. Start small, start slow. Don't buy fabric just to have on hand (a 'fabric stash'), buy fabric only for the project you're working on. Like Jenny said, you need a little place to sew, a little place to iron, etc.

I use an old toolbox to hold my notions and sewing tools. It latches, holds scissors, cutters, some rulers, thread, bobbins, sewing machine needles & hand sewing needles, pins, thread spools, marking pencils, a battery powered pencil sharpener (from Dollar Tree), bobbins in a case, fusible interfacing, ribbon, a few fat quarters (1/4 yard cuts of fabric) and larger scraps (I use them to lead fabric, test out my tension, try stitches). Often there is room for my current pattern, too. The toolkit fits into small spaces easily. I also recommend you get a cutting mat.

Hi, so excited for your new travel trailer. As a new sewer, I suggest purchasing a machine from a store that will include beginning sewing classes. There are so many items for quilting. What I find as necessary for starting out are: a rotary cutter, a good pair of fabric scissors, seam ripper, cutting mat, iron, wool iron matt, a cutting ruler that makes sense to you. These are just basics. Have fun.

Wow! Love your new trailer. Debbie has given a great list of things for a quilting journey. I would add pins and I’m sure others will provide other ideas. I look forward to future videos. ❤️🌺

Hi guys! Congratulations on a new trailer (camping wagon as it is called in Norway) Have no good advice on location, but support you with your new hobby and new adventurer. Hope to see more of the technical and what it looks like on the outside.
