- An amateur review of a Mk7 Volkswagen Golf R-Line 1.5 TSI EVO 150 PS DSG 5 door.
I understand I don't know a huge amount about cars and couldn't give an expert opinion or compare it to much, but here's just a little video of me driving it around for a bit of fun!

Good review mate..couldn't find many reviews on rlines 👍
I recently traded in a 18 plate golf line 1.5tsi for a new Mercedes a180 executive hatch. But I really miss the golf-like a bereavement. I have to get to know this a189 and get to like it.
The review I was looking for. Thank you 😊
I know im asking randomly but does anyone know of a trick to get back into an instagram account??
I was dumb lost my password. I appreciate any assistance you can give me.
@Uriel Cohen Instablaster =)
How do you find 150 (well, just shy of) HP in a car the size of a golf? I just bought a Polo 6c with the same output from the 1.4 ACT engine and on the test drive I found it surprisingly quick. Happily pulls from 40 in 6th gear on a slight uphill grade without any complaints whatsoever. The torque delivery felt very diesel like, for half a second or so of planting your foot you get nothing, then you get everything all at once.
Now imagine this car with a engine + dsg tune, better tires, upgraded intake and maybe a better exhaust system.
Gti? R?
Imagine a gti
Great review! Top man
cant decide which suits better black or white? i simply cannot pick a colour both look stunning
If I can get an extra 43bhp and 70torque from a stage1 remap would u say it's worth it?
I'm stuck at the minute. I've got a mk5 gti and i've recently started a local service based business which requires me to drive to on-site visits/repairs, spending £140/month of fuel. The mk5 GTI averages 30-35mpg
Do you drive a mk4 golf gti?
I'm stuck between this, the 1.4 TSi and the GTD. Nice review
What did you end up getting any suggestions I am in the same predicament
@@ahmedmattan1507 So I got a 7.5 GTI in the end, white silver, 3 door, manual, it's gorgeous, picked it up last weekend actually
@@SilverShamrock71 7.5?
@@thedomamato Hi mate, mark 7.5, the face lift version, 2018 model
@SilverShamrock71 Mark 7.5 (facelift 2017). 67 Reg onwards
Nice review mate, can we expect more like this?
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed! We’re definitely hoping to do more videos like this depending on the cars we can get our hands on!
Great review not many on this car, which I have just bought and am awaiting delivery! You have settled my mind that I’ve done the right thing! By the way not sure I heard right but do you own a mk4 gti by any chance?
Glad it helped you out! Yes I drive a 2001 Golf GTi 1.8T 😊
I wanted to see a review about Golf Mk7 with 1.5 TSI Evo and pair Dsg
I couldnt damn find it any where ffs youtube
hello mate
has it got a heated front windscreen ?
and is it any good compared to Fords heated front windscreen ?
thanks
No heated screen in my R line.
To be honest I'm not a fan of the car line. I think there should be a sportive line, but not one based on a already existing sportscar (the golf R). Anyone agree?
GTI
Yeh manual are the best, even thoght in London usally people prefer automatics, which ain't bad but not dsg or semi autos they are pain in the ass to keep the gearbox in good nic and the cost more to get repaired as these dsg gearboxes or any semi auto do go wrong manual last much longer. Also I do like this vw golf but when it comes to cars I like old cars because those are fun, they have character, and they are much cheaper then new cars as well also old cars from 90s and 2000s were great cars and desighns, only sad thing is that i wish i was a young guy back then and I would've boght a new car back then which now they would be 20 years old or so.
Great video thanks mate.
What car have you got again ?
🤣
I haven’t heard of a 1.5 TSI but I have heard of a 1.4TSI
Should have got a blue one ;)
Race?
You wouldn’t want a manual living in London. Auto allday long
Nah I love the manual tbh
I would never buy a dsg tbh, takes the fun away and also I had an audi a3 2014 with an s-tronic gear which is pretty much the same as dsg, it broke 3 times during 2 years... I would never take a DSG again, if ur going to a VW go for a manual
Why not a dsg?
@@maxwellblack5143 They're very unreliable. Easy to brake cause they're "overengineered". I've not had the best experience with them, I also know a few others with same problems.
What about a 1.5 Polo 2019

You won’t get 50mpg you’ll get about 42 at best I’ve got an Octavia and I get 30 round town and about 38 on a run driving like a granny
I own a Golf R Line DSG as shown in the video and my average long term economy is 47mpg... combined city and motorway driving
@@JonnyyNI yeah that's your long term figure you rarely achieve that on a journey click it to since start and watch it until the end of your journey and obviously your car is a bit lighter than mine and that will have an effect too but mine sucks ass haha
A proper driver doesn't change gear in a corner.
Hence 'amateur' 😂
It’s a 7.5 not a 7 just saying!
Isn't it a Mk 7.5.
Yeah I think you’re right, it’s a Mk7 facelift / 7.5
@@vdubsurfwagon why does it come the old headlights on a 2019?
@@geoffreynoonan4334 which country?
Unfortunately to meet dwlp regs tuned for economy and lower emissions , pretty noisy in lower gears, not a patch on the old 1.4 tsi with 150, this engines pretty boring
